- This is my first atempt to write a fanfic, so you all will have fun reading it. Now on to the story!
Ginny sat alone in a compartment on her way to begin her sixth year at Hogwarts. Ginny usually sat with the 'Trio', but she did not want to sit with them after she told Harry how she felt about him, and he carefully said he did not feel anything for her. That broke her heart, especially when she caught Harry and Cho making out at the end of last year. The whole trip to Hogwarts, she couldn't get her mind off Harry and the fact that he chose Cho over her.
At the end of the opening feast, when everybody had finished eating and all of the golden plates were spotless, Ginny waited until almost everybody was gone. Usually, she walked along with her friends, but she really didn't feel anything for talking to, or even facing, Harry. As Ginny walked towards the door, lost in her own thoughts, she suddenly bumped into someone she wished she had not bumped into, or at least, that is what she thought at that moment.
"Watch where you're going, Weasel, and get out of my way! You're polluting my air," someone sneered.
It was Malfoy, her brother's archenemy, the sexy boy... well, man, who always had to make a sneering comment about her or her family, and it made her mad most of the times.
"Wait a second; did I just refer Draco Malfoy as sexy?" Ginny could not believe she just thought that of all boys, particularly Draco Malfoy.
"Er-I mean, s-sorry," Ginny stuttered as she ran towards Gryffindor tower.
When Ginny was lying in her bed, all she could think about, to her amazement, was the strong, muscled body of Malfoy, how beautiful and so cold his pale face was, and especially how his grey eyes looked in the shade of the candlelight of the Great Hall. His blonde hair looked good when it was short and hanging a bit over his eyes instead of slicked back with wizarding gel. After a lot of pondering about this, she figured it was just because she was mad at Harry for not liking her, and she drifted to sleep slowly.
The whole year Ginny was able to avoid Harry, and maybe that was because he tried to avoid her just as well. However, she was so busy trying to avoid Harry in the halls, she did not notice a particular boy with blonde hair who was watching her.
Since Ginny had bumped into Draco, he stopped seeing her as 'just another Weasley'. He started to see her as a beautiful young woman.
The Annual Ball was coming up again, and Ginny still did not have a partner. This frustrated her to no end. Even Ron had beaten her to it, taking Hermione to the Ball.
Ginny knew whom she wanted to go with, but she forced herself not to think about that, for she knew she did not have any chance with Harry. Lately, she caught herself thinking more of Malfoy and his sexy looks, instead of thinking of Harry.
It was exactly two days before the Yule ball, and Ginny got more and more frustrated. She still did not have anyone to go with, but her day was completely ruined when she saw Pansy Parkinson hanging all over Draco. But most of all to Ginny's disbelief, she definitely did not feel comfortable with the idea of Pansy and Draco together, even though she had not spoken to Draco since she bumped into him in the beginning of the year.
Ginny had just gotten out of Astronomy and was walking towards the Quidditch pitch when a hand suddenly came out of what appeared to be an empty classroom on the second floor and pulled her in. "What the...!" she tried to scream, but lips pressing hard on hers cut her off. She struggled for a moment before realizing who it was. Before she knew it, she was wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him back just as hard. When they finally parted, both of them looked flushed. It was strange to see Draco this way, but it looked good nonetheless. "Wow!" Ginny gasped as she was still trying to get some air in her lungs.
Draco had regained his steady breathing, and he smirked at Ginny. "God, Weasley! I didn't know you had that in you."
"That's not funny Malfoy." Ginny stated, while feeling insulted. He smirked again and closed the empty space between them. While bending to kiss her again, he said, "Virginia, you're going to the Yule Ball with me."
Before Ginny could reply, he kissed her firmly on the lips and left. Ginny was really startled at that point.
Later that day, she was still thinking about what happened just a few hours ago in an empty classroom with the guy she was supposed to hate. Her face had paled a bit, and it was worrying Hermione. "Ginny are you okay?"
"Huh?" Ginny looked up and saw a worried the worried look on Hermione's face. She told Hermione that she was fine, and sunk back in her thoughts about Draco.
That night, she was still thinking about what to do. On the one side, she could just leave him alone, but on the other side she actually wanted to go with him. It had been about three o' clock in the morning when she decided she did not care if anyone objected. Ginny vowed simply to have a good time.
That same morning Ginny sent an owl to Draco that she would meet him in front of the Great Hall.
On the night of the Ball, about two hours before it was to start, Ginny and Hermione were getting ready. They were talking about the past school year's events. "Who is the mystery guy you're going with?"
"Oh, believe me, Hermione, you wouldn't believe it if you saw it with your own eyes," Ginny said as she grinned inwardly. Hermione stared at her in disbelief.
Everybody was already inside with their partners except for Ginny and Draco, Ginny had been a little nervous so it took her some time to actually walk up to Draco and meet him in front of the Great Hall. Harry, his date Parvati, Ron, and Hermione were talking about whom Ginny would go with. Behind the doors of the Great Hall, Ginny and Draco saw each other. Draco smirked when Ginny smiled at him.
"Virginia, before we go in..." Draco paused and he seemed very distracted.
"Draco, are you all right?" Ginny asked.
"Virginia, would you like to be my girl?"
Ginny was baffled, but she managed clumsily to say "Yes."
Therefore, they walked in together. Everybody looked shocked to see Ginny in Draco Malfoys arms. If Hermione had not stopped him, Ron would have reacted very violently.
"Ginny, do you care for a dance?" Draco asked with some of that trademark arrogance and flair in his voice. It set both Ron and Harry off, and much to their dismay, Ginny was more then willing to oblige.
"How can she do that?" Ron said angrily. "Well, Ron, you know what they say; love is blind," Hermione said, grinning widely.
Even though it was that git of a Malfoy, Hermione knew how Ginny felt. She was very happy for her friend.
