Weeks went by and Petunia's birthday was rapidly approaching. Petunia grew more and more anxious by the day. Her 11th birthday was almost here! She was building herself up everyday towards getting her Hogwarts acceptance letter.

On the night before her birthday, Daisy tried to get Petunia to fall asleep, but the young girl was much too excited. Sometime in the late night / early morning - whatever it would be called by then - Petunia finally fell asleep.

When Petunia opened her eyes in the morning, she couldn't believe the time! How could she have been so silly and slept in a bit?! Staying up the night before must have really wiped her out. Petunia quickly changed out of her nightshirt and ran down the stairs to find her parents. Her special day was finally here!

"MUMMMMMMMMMMMM! DADDDDDDDD!" she shouted.

"Happy Birthday, honey!" Petunia heard her mother's familiar voice from around the wall.

Petunia ran into the living room and gave Daisy a hug. "Thanks, mummy. Has the post come yet?" she asked anxiously.

"Your father has actually gone out to get it now! Big day?" Daisy grinned.

As if on cue, Paul walked back into his house, carrying a pile of letters. He looked up and noticed his daughter standing in the room. "Good morning, Petunia! Today's your big day! Happy Birthday!!"

He went back to the letters in his hands and started to sort through them. Petunia watched her father, nearly jumping around with anticipation.

"Father, is there anything for me?" Petunia finally voiced up.

"Umm... no, I'm afraid not sweetheart. I don't see anything here..." Paul answered.

Petunia looked at her father in disbelief. Did he really just say what she thought she had heard? Certainly her letter had to be there... or it must be on the way. Something! It must have been a mistake! Her heart sank down to her stomach. Was this really happening?

Tears welled up in Petunia's eyes, and quietly began to trickle down her cheeks. Daisy noticed her daughters water works and grabbed her daughter into a hug.

"Mum, where's my letter? Why haven't I gotten it? It's my 11th birthday, it should be here!" Petunia took a deep breath. "I'm supposed to be a witch! I'm supposed to go to Lily's school! We were to be together all the time again! I'm supposed to make you and dad proud too!" Petunia erupted into more tears.

"Well, dear, I guess this means that you're like your mother and father." Daisy stroked her daughters head, trying to soothe her. "Not everyone can go to Hogwarts. I'm so sorry, honey. Your father and I still love you so, you're our special girl, witch or not. And we will always be proud of you. Always! You and Lily can still share things, this doesn't interfere with that a all. Lily still loves you, and we love you, and that's all you truly need honey. To be happy and loved - and that you are. I know you're disappointed, and very rightfully so, but you still have so much to look forward to honey. I... don't really know what else to say."

Petunia finally broke away from her mothers hug, sobbing more heavily, and turned to run up the stairs to her bedroom. Daisy and Paul did not reach their daughter in time and encountered a bedroom with a locked door. They could hear Petunia's sobs out in the hall. Petunia had thrown herself onto her bed. How could this have happened?

Author notes: I'm SO sorry that it has taken forever to get more of this story out. I was away at school, had a bad internet connection, and was just plain driving myself crazy with schoolwork. Yay for summer vacation! =) Enjoy! Please read and review!
