All told from Harry's POV, kinda fluffy.

I never thought I would end up here, with you.

I never thought that I would be able to be happy, to love, and to be loved back.

If you wanted reasons why I felt this way, then I guess I could prattle on about my loathsome childhood or about the way that everyone I loved ended up hurt (or dead, though I don't speak of that too often). But, then again, you don't want reasons. You just accept the fact that we are here, together. You don't want, nor do you care for, any type of explanation.

It's strange to think of us, before there was an 'us.' We teased one another, fought constantly, and never once suspected that we would end up together. That was a vile thought unto itself, during our younger adolescent years.

It changed when you did. You stopped teasing my friends, stopped picking fights, and stopped, well, being a prat, to be entirely honest, though your quick wit and sharp tongue were still intact and used often against me (especially before certain Quidditch matches). It also changed when I realized that all of my romantic interests stopped being members of the opposite sex, though this recognition didn't frighten me near as much as the idea that you were becoming a decent person did.

Toward the end of our final year of childhood, I came to respect you. You had defied all of the odds. You stood against those you had grown up with in your beliefs. You abandoned your family and all that you had known. You joined the side of "good"; you joined my side. We became friends after that, though it took a while to put aside all of the animosity that had built up between us during the six years we had known each other.

It wasn't long after we became friends that I realized I was attracted to you. You held an...odd, I guess is the word...charm about you. You were so strong, yet so vulnerable. Unreachable, but so close. I didn't know at that time whether or not the feeling was mutual, nor did I have time to act upon my attraction, as The Battle was fast approaching.

And soon, it was all over, and by some miracle, we both survived. Not willing to bypass another chance to tell you how I felt, I found you and told you, told you everything I needed to. And you surprised me by reciprocating my feelings. We became an "item," I guess, not long after. We recovered from the battles together, healed both the visible and the invisible wounds together, and in the end, fell in love.

We've lived in this flat jointly for almost a year. Each day I wake up next to you I am surprised by how much I love you, and by how much you mean to me. Sure, we fight, often and for long periods of time, but never, once, have we left each other. You nag me about leaving my wet towels lying around, and I find it extremely annoying the way you are always checking your reflection.

But despite all of this, I love you, completely and utterly. I always will.

Which is why, today, I, Harry James Potter, am going to ask you, Draco Lucius Malfoy, to marry me.

And I know that I belong nowhere else but here, with you.
