The Wedding (From Harry's perspective)

It took me a long time to even muster up the courage to ask Hermione to marry me. It wasn't because I didn't love her enough, oh no, that was never an issue. It was more a matter of that I was a scared that in our three years together she would find someone better than me. If that were to happen I didn't want her to be trapped in a marriage with me. But after a little time and much assurance from Hermione, I realized that it was time to bite the bullet and take her as my wife. My proposal was a disaster but she still said yes and that made me happier than I had ever been. After our wedding day, the day she agreed to marry me became the second best day of my life.

Our engagement lasted eight months in which Hermione drove herself, and me, crazy with all the wedding plans. I told her straight forward that price was no issue and that she was to have anything and everything that she wanted. Really the only thing that I did was go over guest charts and go with her to pick out my tuxedo. It was a nice fitting tux and I did look rather smashing in it if I do say so myself. So in general, I pretty much stayed out of Hermione's way and let her handle all of the business and I handed over the gold when it was time to pay the many planners that assisted her.

The night before, I was given a rather spectacular Bachelor party thrown by Ron, Seamus, Dean and Neville. Needless to say, we drank ourselves silly and I passed out sometime between three and four a.m. due to the ridiculous amount of alcohol that I consumed. When I finally woke up, Ron put one of those Sobering charms on me and I was ready to go. We got to the church about two hours early and got into our tuxes. Ron made every conceivable joke about the "old ball and chain" and all I could do was stand around fidgeting nervously. I checked and double checked a thousand times that Ron had the rings and before I realized it, we were being shuffled out to the altar.

When the band struck up the music, my heart sped up a great deal. No matter how much you love a woman, you will be nervous on your wedding day. I suppose I was most looking forward to seeing Hermione in her wedding gown. Keeping with tradition, I had not been allowed to see her in it. I hadn't even slept with her the whole week before the wedding. The day she left for her parents' though, we almost slipped up. I was looking up the aisle and the wedding march started. The doors opened and all of Hermione's bridesmaids came down the aisle looking splendid and then I saw her. My heart stopped beating all together as I watched her walk down the aisle towards me. She was absolutely radiant in her shimmering gown with the little diamonds all over it. She was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. As she got closer, I noticed that she was crying silently and when it hit me that I was about to marry the woman of my dreams, I cried too.

We joined hands, Albus Dumbledore whispered something in her ear and then we recited our vows. We exchanged rings and I kissed her as if we were the only two people in the room. She smiled against my mouth and I finally let out the breath that I had been holding since she entered the sanctuary. We were joined as man and wife, for better or worse, till death do us part. I made a resolution to myself at that moment, that if anyone ever tried to take my Hermione from me, they would meet Death because she is my life, everything that I hold dear and nothing, not even the grave will kill our love.
