Generations

Prologue

Harry crept stealthily into the Potion Master's office. He was to get an ingredient for his, Ron's and Hermione's latest scheme. He was NOT to go looking into Snape's Pensieve! Harry shuddered at remembering what happened the last time he had snooped into Snape's past. He had learned something about his father that he would prefer not to know. Harry hoped it wasn't there, but unfortunately, it was. He tried to ignore the fact that the Pensieve was sitting only a few feet away from him, and went to go into Snape's storeroom. However, the longing to see his parents had become too great! Since Harry's parents were killed long ago, by Lord Voldemort, Harry cherished the time when he could see memories, pictures, or anything of his parents.

He made his way to the storeroom, where he saw the "Eyeball of Kappa." That was what he needed. He grabbed the eyeball and started to sneak back out-Snape could detect anything, and sneak up on you at any time. The temptation of seeing his parents started nagging Harry again. He couldn't give in. He put down the jar containing the eyeball, and lowered his head. Harry could feel himself being sucked down... down into Snape's memories...in which memories of his own parents were....

Chapter 1

Harry looked around and realized that he was in the middle of a classroom where a neat and proper professor was lecturing about the proper uses of kappa eyes. Harry looked around for Snape because he knew that he had to be there if it was his memory. Sure enough, there he was a younger version of him. He was still recognizable because of the greasy hair, hooked nose, sallow face, and foul expression. Then he noticed a face that he had seen not too long ago. It was the face of Remus Lupin. He though that if Lupin was here than maybe his mom or dad was too, but he could not see either of them. Next he saw two people who looked like they were Neville's parents. They were taking diligent notes while having a conversation. Suddenly he heard the professor shout, "Mr. Longbottom, can you tell me what the essence of dried kappa eyes is called?"

"Uh, wolfsbane?" he replied sheepishly.

"Well it looks like you haven't been listening to me at all. Fifty points from Gryffindor."

"Mr.Malfoy, can you tell me?"

"Of course, Professor Alcheme. It is the kappa corona."

"Excellent. One-hundred points to Slytherin. Mr. Lupin, can you tell me what a kappa is?"

"Yes, Professor. A kappa is a water creature usually found in Japan."

"Good very good. One-hundred points to Gryffindor, and that is all the time we have. I want you to write me a paper about the proper uses of kappa eyes due tomorrow." Harry had always wondered who taught Potions before Snape and now realized that he was better off with Snape. Snape got up but before he could leave the professor called to him. "Severus, come here right now. We have a lot to discuss about your future in this school and in my class. You should know that you are failing advanced Potions and that you should really be in a class with people of your own age. That is why starting tomorrow you will return to fifth year Potions."

"Wait, Professor," cried out a sneaky-looking boy who resembled Malfoy.

"Yes, Mr. Malfoy."

"As a prefect and a seventh year don't you think that I could tutor Severus?"

"Hmmmmm Very well. Severus, you will now be tutored by the top student in the class. How does that sound?" "

"Sounds good to me," replied Snape.

"Well then you are free to leave."

"Well, Severus, this may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship," drawled Lucius, who was putting a brotherly-like arm across Snape's back.
