Chapter 13

Harry was waiting in the foyer by the doors. Draco marched right up to him.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but," he said and hugged the man. My mouth dropped in shock. "Thank you," Draco said oddly.

"Erm...you're welcome," Harry said awkwardly.

Draco let him go and looked at me. "I told you I would."

"May I ask what I'm being thanked for?" he asked.

I shook my head, coming out of my state of shock. "Not here," I answered. "Outside."

We walked out through the oak doors and the sudden bright light temporally blinded me. We reached the gates before Harry stopped and asked why again.

"I have a secret, Harry," I said softly. "Draco does too. We're spies," I revealed. "We're traitors."

"Traitors for who?"

I rolled up my sleeve. "I don't want to be a Death Eater anymore," I said through light tears. "And it's because of you."

Harry shook his head and looked up at the sky. "Of course," he whispered. "Of course you were a fucking Death Eater." He stared at me with those damn green eyes that were way too powerful for a seventeen year old. Don't look at me like that. "Both of you? So Draco Malfoy son of Lucius Malfoy and some-day Death Eater really is true?"

"Was," Draco said. "I've been a spy for three months."

"And what made you switch?"

"Your sister," he answered simply. I was touched; I smiled.

"Harry, the reason we're going to Hogsmeade is because of my mission. That week I came to you and asked if you would give me a chance was after I received orders from the Dark Lord to deliver you. I got the order the day I called Hermione here a Mudblood. I was lying to you that day, Harry. I'm sorry. Today is the delivery date. Today," I looked at Draco's watch, "and we're already late."

"Let me see your arm."

Confused, I held it out for him.

He looked at it a moment like he was sad and angry, then gripped my arm around the middle of the Mark and held tightly. I jerked as it burned, much like when I received it, and tried to pull away, but Harry held tighter, just like Voldemort had. The Mark glowed white (where Voldemort's had gone black) and I tried again to pull away. He covered it with his right hand and the burning stopped. When he let go, the Mark was gone.

I gaped in shock at my arm for a second before wrapping my arms around him. "Thank you so much," I whispered.

He did the same for Draco before we walked out through the gates and made our way to Hogsmeade.

As we neared the village and saw houses here and there, we saw they were all boarded up. Merlin, what would the village be like?

I stopped in front of the fifth house we came to like this. Before going further, I had to say goodbye. I looked at Draco. "I love you," I said for possibly the last time. "I will always be with you."

We shared one last kiss, so did Harry and Hermione. Would this be goodbye forever? I turned to my brother. "I love you, Harry," I said softly. He started to cry.

"Don't you say your goodbyes yet," he said giving me a hug. "But I love you too."

I kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you for giving me a chance, Harry," I said anyway. "Just in case I don't get the chance later."

I turned to Hermione. "You know, you're the first friend I've ever had that wasn't a boy? Thank you for that even after what I'd called you."

She gave me a hug. "I thought Harry told you not to say goodbye?"

"And miss the chance?" I asked. "I can't leave without saying it, and there is an extreme possibility that I will die."

Draco pulled me back into his arms. "You come back and haunt me," he ordered softly. "Please."

"Not a chance." I told him with the same softness. "I'll be waiting for you, and watching you every day. You go on without me," I requested. "You'll be fine, and I'll be with you."

He shook his head. "If you can't haunt me, I can't make guarantees, and if you think I'll be fine, you've got another thing coming."

I nodded. "I know. Let's go."
