Story Summary:
This is his sister's story. The one that no one knows, because no one knows *her.* She follows him, she always has. They share blood, but only half. They are the same age, but not twins. How did Lily do it? She's trying to find out. How will Harry react when he learns even his family has secrets?

Chapter 11

Chapter Summary:
Athena visits Draco after that fateful (and overly-emotional) meeting with the headmaster and her father. After asking Draco about his loyalties, she begins to leave. Draco, however, has other plans in mind.

I'm working on a companion piece for this fic that tells (from Snapes POV) what happened when Lily was sent fourth on her mission to deliver Harry the first time.

Chapter 11

I returned to my common room to find it empty but for one person. Not wanting to talk to Millicent, I transformed into the sleek black cat and ran through Draco's open door.

He was sitting at the desk, reading by candlelight looking almost peaceful. He sighed in frustration and slammed the book shut. "Damn Arithmancy," he muttered placing his head in his hands.

I transformed back. "The first sign of insanity is talking to yourself," I said quietly walking over to him. He looked up at me and rolled his eyes. I kissed him on the cheek. "You're not going insane on me now, are you?"

He chuckled. "Not that I know of. Did you meet with Dumbledore?"

"Yes and you'll never believe what I found out. Well, actually, you already know."

"I already know what?"

"I was terrified today, Draco. I was so scared I was crying. Why couldn't you tell me you were working for Dumbledore? I needed someone there, but I thought I had no one. I thought my father was a faithful Death Eater just like I was. I thought you were too. I get up there, and after being questioned while under Veritaserum, Dumbledore and my father tell me that you two are spies. Do you have any idea what you did to me today?"

"I would have told you, Athena, honestly, but when I switched sides, you were still a faithful Death Eater. I know exactly what you went through today, Love; I went through it too. And you never exactly told me that you were thinking of switching sides. Though whoever inspired this change, remind me to thank them."

"You would thank my brother?"

"I will now, epically if this choice saves your life one day."

I sat on his lap and curled against his chest, letting the sound of his steady heart beat and breathing calm me down. We sat there for quite some time like that, before I realized I had to go back to my room. I started to get up but he held me tighter. "Don't leave," he asked quietly. His eyes searched mine as our gazes met and held.

"Draco, you know I have to. My father would kill us if I stayed. You know that's why he wouldn't let us have the same room in the first place."

"He doesn't have to know. You could die tomorrow, Athena. What more of a reason do you need to stay? I'm not going to loose you without a fight. Stay with me tonight. Please?"

I stood up and walked around the room for a moment before laying down on his bed. "People will talk," I muttered staring at the dark green canopy.

"They've been talking. They're wondering why you never come out of my room or me out of yours in the morning. Hell, they're wondering why your father wont give us the same room. They know we're married. Please, Athena, stay with me tonight."

I felt the bed shift and knew he had just sat down.

I looked up; he was next to me, looking down at me with sadness in his eyes. I wondered briefly when they'd changed to show his emotions, and then I realized it had been when he told me he loved me. Had the same changed occurred in me as well? Were my emotions as easy to read, or was it just because I loved him that I could tell what he was feeling? I brought my hand to his face and the light of the candle was reflected in my ring.

"I love you," I whispered. I sat up and moved so I was kneeling and our knees were touching. I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head against his. If I die tomorrow, will he ever know how much I love him? Will I ever get the chance to tell him? "Alright," I answered softly I would make the most of what could possibly my last night on this earth. "I'll stay." I kissed him, just bellow his ear. Then, with my mouth right next to the same ear, I whispered my last request.
