Guilty Pleasure

Chapter 3- Realization, regret and relief.

What do you do when you're in love with your best friend, but you're also attracted to his girlfriend?!

"Sirius?"

A hand shook his shoulder gently. Sirius blinked back the tears and got to his feet. Turning quickly, he flashed Remus a small smile and hurried away.

"Sirius! Sirius? Hey, wait up!"

Sirius sighed but slowed slightly so that his friend could catch up. Remus casually threw his arm around Sirius' shoulder as they walked in companionate silence.

It was Remus who spoke first.

"What happened this time?"

Shrugging Remus off, Sirius quickened his pace. When Remus again tried to engage him in conversation, he lowered his head and sprinted to the castle. He needed to be alone. Remus seemed to understand as he made no other attempt to follow him. Sirius sighed thankfully.

Sirius had been planning to cool off in the common room but his plans where foiled by James and Lily snogging near the fireplace. Swallowing the build up of bile in his throat, Sirius tried to sneak past them to the dormitory.

"Padfoot!" James exclaimed. "We've been looking all over for you!"

Sirius froze and eyed James warily. "Yeah, it looks like it."

James looked sheepish, but at least he smiled warmly. He grabbed Lily's hand, who was very pink in the face, and swung their joined arms slightly. Sirius resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Just.

"I'm sorry, Sirius!" Lily exclaimed suddenly. Sirius stared at her. His gaze flickered to James' face, who was watching Lily, an amused grin plastered all over his face. He sensed Sirius' looking and winked at him.

Sirius sucked in a breath. "I forgive you."

Lily arched an eyebrow.

"What Sirius means is that he's sorry to... right, Padfoot?!!!"

Sirius sighed. "Yeah, I guess. I'm sorry, Lil."

James grinned at Sirius and grasped his hand in a friendly handshake. Sirius coloured. Then Lily threw her arms around him and he was breathing in her heavenly smell.

When Lily finally removed her arms from his neck, she and James made their way out. Probably to a broom shed to make out!

Sinking into an armchair, Sirius contemplated the drastic change of events. It was so confusing. Sirius massaged his temple. Where was Moony when Sirius needed him?

Approximately an hour later and Sirius was in the same spot, snoring loudly. Remus climbed through the portrait hole and smiled when he noticed. He dropped silently into the armchair opposite Sirius' and rested his eyes also.

When Sirius awoke, the first thing he saw was the sleeping form of Remus Lupin. The sight took his breath away. Uh-oh. Here we go again.

Remus' eyes fluttered open and, yawning, he stretched and regarded Sirius carefully. "You alright now?"

"Yeah," whispered Sirius. "I am now that you're here..."

A clueless Remus gaped. "Huh?!"

Grinning, Sirius reeled off his tale. His "love" for James. His attraction to Lily. The fight.

"Y-you... you're... b-b-b-bisexual?"

Sirius nodded.

"I'm gay!" Remus blurted out. Sirius waggled his eyebrows at him.

"Oh my!" exclaimed Remus.

"Indeed!"

"So..."

"So...?"

Sirius watched, transfixed, as Remus licked his lips. Remus noticed immediately stopped.

"What now? What do we do now? I think we..."

Sirius cut Remus off the only way he knew. With a kiss.
