Back at Hogwarts once again, Amaris was searching furiously for Evelyn Potter. She approached a Gryffindor first year who liked he was about to wet himself out of fear of her.

"You, tell me where Evelyn Potter is, now."

The boy quivered and opened his mouth, but only a squeak came out.

"Are you waiting for me to say please? I don't have all day!" Amaris glared at him.

"S-she's in the Common Room! The Common Room!"

"That doesn't help me if I don't know the password!"

"I-it's patronus! It's patronus!" the boy covered his face to block any punches he thought Amaris would throw.

Amaris pressed on ahead. Then went up to the portrait of the Fat Lady. "Patronus. Open now!"

"Being a little pushy aren't we? So typical of a Slytherin! Since you know the password I suppose I'll let you in," she swung open.

"Fat whore," Amaris muttered.

Amaris looked around the Common Room for Potter. She saw her climbing the stairs to the dorms.

"HEY! Hey, Potter!" Amaris called. "OY! POTTER!"

Potter froze once she recognized the voice, but kept on going up the staircase.

"POTTER!"

"What?!" Potter spat. "I don't really need this now!"

"Believe me, I'm not doing this to amuse you," Amaris glowered.

"What is it then?!"

"It's about your Dad."

"Don't you bring my family into this!" Potter's face began to flush with anger.

"I found out that Draco Malfoy isn't my biological father," Amaris continued calmly. "My Mum had an affair. Read this." She tossed the diary to Potter.

Potter took it grudgingly. "This is Voldemort's diary! Just what are you playing at?"

"My granddad Lucius must've kept it and then given it to Draco. The entries my Mum wrote said she had used it before, and Voldemort has possed her. But when she found it again once she married Draco, Voldemort was dead and she reckoned it safe to use. Read the July 18 entry."

Potter read and raised an eyebrow. "So, you think Ginny had an affair with my Dad?" She threw the book back at Amaris. "I still think you're talking out of your arse."

"You think I'd make this up? How thick are you?" Amaris snorted. "I've been lied to for 16 years. My Mum's a drunk and my Dad doesn't give a damn about me."

Potter eyed her, unsure. "Do you know what you're suggesting? That I'm your half-sister?"

"Just get me in to see your Dad. That's all you have to do. I have to know who my father is."

"After all you've said and all you've done, you want me to turn around and help you? Forget it never happened? That is so like a Malfoy!"

"This Malfoy might be your sister," shot back Amaris.

Amaris could she see had got Potter off-guard. Potter thought for a minute. Finally, she said, "I'm not doing this for you. This is about me and my family."

"Sure, it's always about you," Amaris waved her hand and left.

As she was heading back to her own dorm, a group of Hufflepuff first years passed her. She gave them a warning glance and they scuttled along. Amaris smirked. The runny-nosed snots.

Once in her dorm, Amaris sat on her bed. The realness of what she had just done crept into her mind. She was actually going to confront Potter's Dad. What if she was wrong? Or worse, what if she was right? All Amaris knew was that she was not going to go back to the Malfoy Manor.

Two days later Potter approached Amaris in an emptied corridor. Potter looked around to make sure no one was watching.

"Embarrassed to be seen with me, are you?" smirked Amaris.

"No! I just don't want anyone getting the wrong idea," Potter snapped. "Now do you want to hear when you can see my Dad or not?"

"Don't you mean our Dad?" Amaris asked slyly.

"Shut up!" Potter scowled. "Nothing's for sure. You could be completely wrong, you know!"

"Or I could be entirely right," continued Amaris, enjoying messing with Potter's head.

"That's not the point! We can go in two days time, I checked my Dad's schedule the other day when he wasn't home, and he's free then at lunch. Can you make it?"

"Don't underestimate me," was all Amaris said before she left.

Potter walked off in a huff. "Never giving straight answers! Who does she think she is? 'Don't underestimate me'! Rubbish!"

Outside the school two days later, Amaris waited for Potter to show up. Potter trudged through the snow.

"You're late," she said agitatedly.

"I have a good conception of time, thank you," Potter said through gritted teeth. "Now can we go?"

"About time," Amaris walked ahead.

Potter rolled her eyes and followed her. The two walked to the end of the grounds, where the Forbidden Forest started.

Amaris turned to face Potter. "What exactly do we do now?"

"I'll call them, and we'll ride them to the Ministry, my Dad did it, so it can't be all that hard," she answered.

"Call what?"

Amaris saw Potter put her hand on something.

"These things. Thestrals," replied Potter.

"Why are they invisible?"

"They're only visible unless you've seen someone die," Potter continued. "I'll help you onto one."

Grudgingly, Amaris let Potter help her onto one, as she couldn't see them. Potter climbed up onto hers easily.

"Who have you seen die?" asked Amaris.

"None of your business," Potter said coldly.

"Yes, sister whatever you say, sister," Amaris retorted mockingly.

Potter took off into the air and Amaris's invisible beast soon took after it. Soon Amaris would know who her Father was.
