Author's Note:
Sorry it took so long. School just started and I haven't had much time to update and such. Oh, i was reading the reviews and I'm really sorry for those of you who thought that i was threatening you with the 'ten review' thing. I didn't mean for it to be offensive. Please forgive me. Also, the chapters will get longer and much more interesting, believe me. Those who reviewed really inspired me to write more on this story. Anyway, hope you like it!

Chapter 1

Three years passed. Harry Potter was living with his godfather, Sirius Black. It was what they had always wished for after Black's name had been cleared. Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts would be starting soon. He was very excited and nervous as well. The previous year, Lord Voldemort had returned to power. The Minister of Magic didn't even want to believe that the Dark Lord had risen again. The Ministry had also caught Peter Pettigrew at the beginning of the summer, but he had gotten away and now he was on the loose again. Minister Fudge, since he hadn't even glimpsed Pettigrew, didn't believe he was alive and helping the Death Eaters.

Sirius had finally cut his long hair. It was now back to shoulder length. There was always something on his mind. Harry couldn't pinpoint what, but he knew it was important. His godfather told him everything so he was worried when Sirius hadn't mentioned what was bothering him.

He finally decided to try asking him. "Um, Sirius?" Harry said uncertainly.

Sirius turned his head and smiled at his godson. "Yeah?" he replied.

"What's wrong?"

"What makes you think anything's wrong?"

"Well, you're really quiet and you look kind of depressed."

"Then I guess you could say something's wrong. Harry," he began with a sigh, "I lied to you. About how I escaped from Azkaban. I didn't get out on my own. A friend helped me. An old friend from school came to bail me out. She succeeded, but was captured herself."

"Is she still in Azkaban?" said Harry, trying to hide his anger. He couldn't believe his own godfather had lied to him.

"If she isn't dead, yes. During sixth year, we loved each other. But when seventh year came around, it was over for us. The last time we saw each other was at your parents' wedding. Her name was Yvonne Davis. She was one of the most beautiful girls I had ever known. Now she's stuck in Azkaban for helping me escape. I promised I would save her one day. I think now is the right time to do it."

"Bail her out of Azkaban? Isn't that dangerous?"

"Yes, but I have a plan. Since my name is cleared, I can go in freely. I'm only hoping that the dementors haven't sided with Voldemort yet. It would be horrible if they did. And that's another reason why we have to save Yvonne. I have reason to believe that Voldemort is after her. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that he is. We have to free her before he realizes that she's there."

"What would he do to her?"

"I don't want to think about that now. I think we should start heading for Azkaban. Every minute that we waste, could be Yvonne's last breath. I need to save her. I promised her and I won't fail her. Come on, Harry. We're going to Azkaban."

***

Yvonne sat in her worn out robes on the cell floor. It was cold and dreary. There was hardly any light and any fresh air there. She always remained hidden in the shadows. It was sort of her protection from the outside world. She feared the worst was coming. Yvonne knew something was up. She knew Voldemort had returned and she only hoped that he didn't find out where she was.

While she was resting on her bunk in her cell, the door opened. Two figures walked into the cell covered in robes. "Who's there?" she wheezed out. Her beautiful brown hair was tangled and long. Her blue eyes reflected only the pain that she felt.

"Miss Davis, what a pleasant surprise," hissed one of the figures. She knew that voice immediately.

"Voldemort!" she cried. He walked forward and put an icy hand over her mouth.

"Silence, you silly girl," he snarled. "Wormtail, would you be so kind as to shut the windows and guard this cell? Miss Davis and I have some 'catching up' to do."

Yvonne turned her head and narrowed her eyes. "Traitor!" she yelled at the man named Wormtail. "Peter, how could you do this?" she whimpered. Wormtail ignored her and did as his master ordered.

Voldemort and Yvonne remained in the darkness. She sat up and glared at him. The only things she could see of him were his red eyes. He slowly walked towards her and knelt down to her height. He brought one of his cold hands to caress her smooth face. "Miss Davis, why did you betray me?" he asked softly. "I asked you to bring me Harry Potter and you defied me. Why?"

"That's none of your concern, you vile bastard," she spat.

"Now none of that talk," he hissed cupping her chin roughly. He brought her gaze to his. "I offered you power, and you refused it. I offered you a life without rules, and still you defied me. What more do you want?"

"Nothing you can offer."

"Is that so? Perhaps I can change your mind, my dear." He suddenly brought his lips to hers roughly and she struggled for him to stop. She finally succeeded in pushing him away. "So you want to play it that way, eh? Very well," Voldemort snarled. He then knocked her to the hard floor and began kissing her wildly. Yvonne resisted him. He traveled down her neck and removed her robes. She was naked underneath him now.

He took out his wand and pointed it at her hands. "You will enjoy this, my dear," he ordered. "Octa!" Yvonne's hands suddenly started to remove his robes as well. She shut her eyes in anguish. His cold flesh made her shiver. She could even feel his heart pounding against his chest. Both of them lay there without clothes. Voldemort didn't seem to mind. He was going to get this girl to come back to his ranks whether she liked it or not.

"I'm still waiting for an answer," she mumbled. "This offer is one reason why I won't join your side."

Voldemort gritted his teeth angrily. "Miss Davis, I have offered you power, victory, and lust. What more do you want?" he asked again.

"Like I said before, nothing you can offer," she retorted.

"You're being smart with me. I hate that." His lips pressed against hers again. Yvonne had no choice but to kiss him back. It made her sick to know that she was having an affair with the Dark Lord in her cell. Voldemort then rested his head on her chest. Her arms held him close to her. He trailed her neck with his lips and finally relaxed.

The wizard decided to leave since his persuasions were getting him nowhere. He redressed himself and straightened out his robes. "I shall expect seeing you again, Miss Davis," he said and left her alone. He and Wormtail Disapparated.

Yvonne clothed herself and let tears fall down her face. It was horrible. She had just had sex with Lord Voldemort! How more slut-like could she be?

***

Sirius and Harry flew all the way to Azkaban. Harry's Firebolt was lucky enough to carry both of them. They peered in through the cells. The dementors gave Harry the chills and Sirius was also feeling slightly uneasy with them floating around.

"She was in my old cell and that should be right over...there!" he pointed to a rusty-looking cell farthest from everyone. He and Harry rushed to the cell door and gazed through. There was a figure slumped up against the wall. Harry couldn't make it out, but Sirius sure could. "That's her, Harry," he whispered. His godson's eyes widened.

Sirius suddenly transformed into his dog form and easily slid through the bars. Harry watched fearfully. Sirius nudged Yvonne's prone body with his muzzle. She stirred and her blue eyes opened. At first, there was a long pause. Then the woman on the floor backed away from Sirius in fright. "Why have you come here?" she hissed.

The dog changed back into a wizard. Yvonne gasped. "I'm here to bail you out, Yvonne," he said quietly. "I promised I would return to help you and here I am. I also brought Harry."

She looked behind him to see a fifteen-year-old boy with disheveled hair, glasses, and green eyes. "My God, he looks so much like James," she whispered more to herself than to Sirius.

"I know, everyone says that," Sirius mumbled. "Now, you're gonna have to transform into your Animagus form. It's the only way I'll be able to get you out of here without the guards and dementors knowing."

Yvonne nodded and soon there was a beat-up looking falcon standing on the floor. Sirius picked her up on his arm and tucked her underneath his robes. A dementor suddenly swooshed by and stopped to look at them. "We were just visiting an old friend," Harry lied quickly. He felt his insides going weaker as the dementor drew breath. It then moved away, much to Harry's relief.

Sirius held onto the falcon under his robes. When they reached the Firebolt and took off, he let the bird out. Yvonne flapped her wings, realizing that she would need to fly. Her speed marveled with that of Harry's broom. They flew all the way back to Sirius' house.

Yvonne transformed back into a woman and nearly collapsed on the floor. Harry bent over her with concern. "Will she be all right?" he asked looking up at his godfather and taking her pulse.

Sirius hung his cloak on a hanger and sat on the couch. "She'll be fine as soon as she gets some rest and some food in her," he replied. Yvonne groaned. "I suppose she can sleep on the couch--" he began, but Harry interrupted him.

"She can have my bed for the night," he said.

"But Harry--"

"I'm used to sleeping on the couch, Sirius. I can handle it. Yvonne has been in Azkaban a long time. She hasn't been treated right, you know that. It's the least I can do."

"All right. If she wakes up, give her some chocolate. That'll warm her insides right up."

Harry nodded and watched as Sirius walked off to his own bedroom. The fifteen-year-old carefully stared at the woman lying on the floor before him. She must have been very attractive in her early years. But spending the time she had in prison, her beauty had obviously faded. Harry then noticed something odd on the side of her hip. There was a large rip at the waistline and he could see what looked like a tattoo on her hip. He shook his head and fixed a pillow under her head. It would be too hard to get her upstairs to his room, so he tried to make her comfortable down on the floor.

Within an hour, Harry had also fallen asleep. Sirius quietly made his way downstairs. He wore only his trousers. He walked over to Harry and Yvonne. He pulled up an extra blanket to cover his godson with. Yvonne stirred and Sirius looked down at her with pity. She looked worn out and almost dead. As much as he loathed himself for doing it, he gently pressed his hand against her cheek. Her lips curved into the first real smile that Sirius had seen from her since Lily and James's wedding. He smiled back at her and made himself comfortable on the couch.

The next morning, Harry woke up feeling like the day before had been a dream. He looked to the right of him and saw the mysterious woman named Yvonne. His head then turned to his left to find Sirius lying on the couch in only his trousers. Harry hid a grin. He stood up and yawned. He made his way into the kitchen to fix himself some food. When he looked back at the sleeping adults, he realized that only one was there. Where had Yvonne gone...? Before he could move, he heard a voice say, "Good morning, Harry."

Harry jumped at being addressed. He turned around and saw that Yvonne was standing behind him with a warm smile. Her brown hair was disheveled and very long. She had extremely bony arms, but a well-built body. Her eyes weren't sunken like Sirius's were when he had escaped Azkaban. Yvonne's skin was very pale as well. "Um...good to see you awake," he said in reply.

"I wanted to thank you and Sirius for rescuing me yesterday," she continued.

"Don't mention it," Harry replied. "Besides, Sirius said that he owed you for saving him from Azkaban. He had originally told me that he escaped in his animal form by slipping through the bars because he was so skinny."

Yvonne gave a low chuckle. "No, I was his savior. I knew he was innocent and so I helped him escape."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yes, of course."

"What's that thing on your hip?"

"Huh?"

"I saw some kind of marking on your hip last night."

"Oh, that's my...tattoo. I got it awhile back."

"You had it put on your hip?"

"Yeah. It was the style back then."

"Oh, okay."

They both heard a loud yawn. Sirius was getting up from the couch and rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he made his way into the kitchen. "Morning," he said plopping into a chair at the table.

Yvonne giggled to herself at seeing him only in his trousers. Sirius suddenly realized that she was laughing at him and followed her gaze. "Haha, very funny," he growled sarcastically. "What else did you expect? It's summer and it gets hot around here. You actually expect me to wear pants to bed?"

"I didn't say anything against you," she said containing her giggles. "Is it alright if I take a quick shower?"

"By all means. You smell like Azkaban."

She frowned at him. "That isn't funny."

"It wasn't meant to be funny."

Yvonne glared at him but walked down the hallway to the bathroom. Harry stared at Sirius for a long time. "What?" his godfather said, realizing that he was being watched.

"What do you have against her?" Harry asked.

"Look, let's just say that she isn't my most favorite person at the moment."

"Then why did you save her?"

"Because I couldn't stand the guilt piling onto me."

"That's not a reason, Sirius. You said at one point that you loved her. Why don't you love her any more?"

"You wouldn't understand, Harry. It happened a long time ago and I would prefer not to relive it. Yvonne can lie low here for awhile. We'll send a letter to Dumbledore. Maybe he can find a permanent home for her to stay at. I certainly don't need her in my house."

"C'mon, have some dignity. She's been in Azkaban for two years. The least you could do is take her into your care."

"Harry, I'm not going to discuss this with you now."

Harry narrowed his eyes. "Fine," he snapped slamming his glass of orange juice on the table. He walked into the living room and up the stairs. He slammed the door shut once he reached his room. A few minutes later, Sirius heard the bathroom door creak open. He gasped. Yvonne walked out wearing only a towel around her body. Her hair looked much better and her skin looked less pale.

"I heard raised voices," she said drying her hair with an extra towel. "What happened?"

"Nothing," Sirius said shortly. "Maybe we should get you some new clothes. Harry and I were thinking on heading into Diagon Alley today. While I get him his school supplies, you can get measured for new robes."

"That's a good idea, Black." He winced when she called him by his last name. He sounded almost offended. "I'll put on my old robes for now, until I get some new ones." Sirius nodded.

Harry reluctantly came downstairs after Sirius had begged him. Yvonne looked much cleaner now and a little more healthier after she had eaten a well proportioned breakfast. The three of them headed down the streets of London until they reached the Leaky Cauldron. They then entered Diagon Alley and went their separate ways. Yvonne headed into Madam Malkin's to try on some robes while Harry and Sirius went to Gringotts and Flourish and Blotts. When Harry came out of Flourish and Blotts, he saw his best friend, Ron Weasley with his family. Fred and George Weasley looked particularly upset about something. Harry and Sirius waved to the Weasleys as they walked over.

"Good to see you, Molly," Sirius said shaking Mrs. Weasley's hand.

"And you too, Sirius," she replied. "We've just finished our shopping. Thank god there's only four left in the school."

Harry was talking with Ron. "Sirius and I rescued his old school friend from Azkaban yesterday. Her name's Yvonne Davis," he explained. Ginny, Ron's little sister, couldn't help but overhear him.

"Do you know anything about her?" Ron asked.

"Just that she and Sirius were in love at one point. He doesn't want to press the subject too much."

"I should think not," stated Ginny. "Sirius has a right not to mention about his personal life if he doesn't want to."

"Oh, sod off, Ginny," snapped Ron.

"Why don't you put a sock in it, Ron?" she spat back. She turned back to her mother.

"Is it just me, or has your sister gotten a little hot-tempered over the summer?" Harry said quietly.

"No, it isn't just you. She's been acting this rude since the end of last year. I don't even know why. I've just tried to avoid her all summer," Ron replied.

Harry nodded and turned to Fred and George. "Why are you guys upset?" he asked.

The twins didn't say anything but grumbled. Ron tapped his shoulder. "Mum found more permission slips about wacky new inventions they had created over the summer," he muttered. "She burned them in the fire though and now Fred and George are mad at her."

Harry stifled a laugh. The twins had always mentioned opening a joke shop. It was their dream, they had often said. This year was their final year at Hogwarts. Mrs. Weasley obviously wanted them to work at the Ministry, like Percy and their father. They, however, had different plans.

"So how has Sirius been lately, before that Yvonne came that is," Ron said.

"He's pretty okay," answered Harry truthfully. "I just think sometimes that he's keeping things hidden from me. Like about him and Yvonne. What's there to hide?"

Ron shrugged. His jaw suddenly dropped in shock. Harry turned around to look at what his friend was staring at. His green eyes widened. Yvonne stood behind him in robes of blue, which brought out her eyes perfectly. It looked as though she had paid a visit to a hair parlor as well. Her brown hair was now shorter, slightly curled, and it framed her delicate features perfectly.

Sirius and Mrs. Weasley also turned around to see what Harry and Ron where looking at. Their jaws also dropped from shock. Sirius thought he was looking at an angel. He shook his head and said, "Y-Yvonne? Is that you?"

She nodded and glanced at everyone else. "Sirius, who is this?" Mrs. Weasley wondered.

"This is Yvonne Davis, Molly," he mumbled.

"Oh yes, I remember you now. Well, let me introduce you to my children. The twins are Fred and George. That's Ron and this is Ginny."

"It's a pleasure meeting you," Yvonne said smiling. Harry could feel Ron stiffen. A grin came across his face. It seemed that Ron had a slight crush on Yvonne. It was kind of cute, actually. Harry had to finally nudge Ron to get him to come back to the present.

"Well, we best be off," Sirius said. "C'mon Harry, Yvonne." Yvonne glanced at Harry, who looked right back at her. They both shrugged and followed after Sirius. When they returned home, Sirius was about to start making lunch, when Yvonne stopped him.

"Sirius, why don't you let me handle making lunch?" she said.

"How do I know you won't poison us?" he growled.

She gave him a pointed glare. "You don't trust me, do you?" she said quietly.

"Not lately."

"Well I'm surprised Harry's still alive with the way you cook, Sirius."

Harry turned his laugh into a hacking cough. Yvonne grinned but Sirius had turned beat red at being insulted. "At least I can cook," he retorted.

"I suggest we try some traditional Muggle food. Do you have a phone, Sirius?"

"A what?"

"She means a telephone," Harry said.

"Never heard of it."

"It's a Muggle device," Yvonne explained. "I'm going to order some pizza."

Harry perked up at this news. "All right! I haven't had a decent meal for so long!" He then saw Sirius glaring at him and quickly added, "Not that you're a bad cook, Sirius."

"Save it, Harry. It's pretty clear that Yvonne is going to give you a healthier meal than I ever could," he said softly and walked into the living room. Harry and Yvonne stared after him sadly.

"So...um...is there a phone around here at all?" Yvonne muttered.

"Yeah, the neighbors own one. Be careful though, they have a big Doberman."

"Don't worry, Harry. I can handle a dog." Yvonne quickly exited the house and made her way to the neighbors' front porch. She knocked twice. An old lady answered the door.

"Yes, how may I help you?" she asked.

"Hi, my name is Yvonne and I live next door to you. I was wondering if I could use your phone."

The old woman stared at her for a while. "You live with that young man and his son, correct?" she said finally.

"Uh...yeah."

"Then that young man is very lucky to know someone like you, my dear," the woman said smiling. "Call me Amelia."

Yvonne blushed and smiled back. "Nice to meet you, Amelia. So how long have you known Sirius and Harry?"

"They just moved in a few months ago, I believe. Anyway, come in and I'll show you to the phone." She led the brunette into the kitchen where a cream-colored phone was hanging.

"Thank you," Yvonne said dialing the number for pizza. She ordered a medium sized pizza and told the delivery boy where the house was located.

"Was that all you needed, dear?" Amelia asked as Yvonne walked back outside.

"Yes, and thank you again for letting me use your phone."

"It was no problem." Yvonne smiled again and left.

"The pizza will be here in 15 minutes," she said as she sat down at the table. Harry stared at her for a while.

"Can I talk to you?" he whispered.

"You already are, but go ahead," stated Yvonne.

"I want to ask you about Sirius."

She frowned. "Shouldn't you be asking Sirius?"

"Well, you knew him best when he was at Hogwarts."

"Yes, I know that. But wouldn't Sirius know more about himself than I would?"

Harry grinned slightly. "He's asleep," he said.

"Oh. Well, ask away."

"What was he like during his school years?"

Yvonne bit her lip. "Well, he was very spontaneous and he loved attention. He liked pulling pranks on people and making people laugh. He also had a wicked temper. He was loyal to your father, Harry. He really was. I never saw Sirius go against anything James said or did. Well, maybe I should skip ahead to when Sirius was in sixth year. You see, I had a big crush on him, which wasn't evident to everyone else. I told Lily Evans, your mother, my little secret. She, James, and the others worked very hard to get Sirius and I together. They finally succeeded. But during seventh year he started acting very strange and we broke up. We danced at your parents' wedding, but that was it."

"Do you...erm...still care for him?"

"I'm not sure, Harry. Part of me still wishes things could be back to normal, but another half tells me to just move on with my life."

Just then, the doorbell rang. "Ooh, pizza's here," Yvonne said getting up and going to the door. "Thank you," she said to the deliveryman. She placed the pizza on the table and opened the box. "Mmm, it smells so good."

Harry nodded and eagerly grabbed a plate to put a slice of pizza on it. "This sure beats Sirius's cooking," he said while taking a bite of pizza. "Don't tell him I said that, though."

"Don't worry, I won't," Yvonne laughed. "You think I should wake him up?"

"Depends on how you plan to," Harry said.

"I'll bribe him with food. That always works." She grabbed a piece of pizza and held it up to Sirius's nose. "Smell that, Sirius? It smells good, doesn't it? Want some? There's a lot more where that came from. C'mon Sirius, wake up."

His eyes slowly opened as he sniffed the pizza in her hand. "Mmm," he said.

"You want some?" Yvonne said.

"Mmm-hmm," he replied.

"All right then, follow me into the kitchen." To Harry's surprise, Sirius obeyed and plopped himself into a seat beside Harry. Yvonne placed the pizza slice on Sirius's plate and he ate it.

"This is good," he mumbled.

"Told you you'd love it," Yvonne said.

Sirius looked at her. "Yvonne, I need to tell you something."

"What is it?"

"A letter came for you yesterday. I kept it hidden because I didn't think you'd be apt to reading it, but now--"

"You hid my mail?" she growled. "How selfish can you get?"

"Hey, I was trying to protect you!"

"From what? Someone has started placing dungbombs in letters now, have they? Oh wait, I forgot. You started that trend in fifth year, didn't you?"

Sirius ignored her and thrust the letter into her hands. "Just read the damn thing!" he cried.

Yvonne opened the letter and read it. She gasped. "D-Dumbledore is offering me a job as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher," she stuttered. Harry gasped with excitement.

"Are you going to take the job?" he asked.

"I-I'm not sure."

"You should take it," Sirius muttered. "This has been your dream, hasn't it? You always said you wanted to teach at Hogwarts. Well, now's your chance."

Yvonne bit her lip. "I guess I could tell Dumbledore 'yes'. You're right, Sirius. Teaching at Hogwarts has been my dream and I won't waste this opportunity." She quickly ran upstairs and began to pack her new clothes.

"Why'd you support her?" Harry asked his godfather.

"Because it was the right thing to do," answered Sirius sipping some water. "Yvonne deserves this job. She's always wanted it. I couldn't just stand by and let her throw it away."

Harry smiled. "Sounds like you still care about her," he said.

Sirius narrowed his eyes. "Now I don't know where you get off saying how I feel about that--that woman. You barely even know her, Harry. She's dangerous, believe me. I've known her longer than anyone. You mark my words, someday she'll be just as bad as Peter."

But Harry wasn't looking at Sirius, he was looking behind him with his mouth agape. Yvonne was standing at the foot of the stairs; her eyes gleaming with tears. Her hands gripped her bag tightly. Sirius slowly turned around and buried his face in his hands.

"Yvonne, I didn't mean--" he began, but she cut him off.

"No Sirius, it's quite plain that you don't trust me. I just didn't know that you thought of me as a worthless traitor like Peter. Well, I guess we both know where I stand in this world, eh?" she spat. She walked forward, placed her bag on the floor, and bent down to kiss Harry on the cheek. "I'm sorry, but I have to go," she whispered to him. "It's clear I'm not wanted here."

Harry watched her turn her blue eyes fixedly on Sirius. "And as for you," she snarled. "There is something that I have wanted to do since I saw you in Azkaban. I'm sorry that I must do this in front of your--I'm sorry, our godson." She raised her hand and slapped Sirius hard across the face. Harry closed his eyes so he wouldn't see, but he could definitely hear the slap.

Then her words registered into his brain. Was she is godmother? Sirius could still hear rings in his ears. Yvonne walked out of the house leaving Harry and his godfather at the table. Sirius was holding his hand to where his cheek hurt, but Harry was shaking with rage.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Harry said angrily. "Why didn't you tell me she was my godmother?"

"Harry, please, hear me out," Sirius pleaded.

"Sirius, you're supposed to tell me everything!" he shouted. "You lied to me! You've lied about everything!" He pushed back his chair and stomped up to his room in frustration. Harry was so upset that he felt like hitting something. Sirius felt the guilt piling on again. Harry was right. Sirius had lied to him. But it was to protect him, not hurt him. And Yvonne, how could he have said all those things about her when he knew he still cared about her? Sirius covered his face with his hands. He felt tears building up in his eyes, but he forced himself not to cry. He had destroyed his life, along with Harry and Yvonne's.

"What've I done?" he moaned.
