My Light

Why is it so dark? Where am I? I can't see anything... I feel cold. I hope all of this would end, but when? I'll just stay here, until I find something. Somehow this will end.

I remember once that I saw a familiar brightness. A light that somehow made me continue to live. With that brightness, I saw another light. That light strengthened me more each day; as I walked the hall of the school I considered my home. She wasn't what everyone might call the love of my life, but she sure made me feel that life was worth living. She was sort of what any Muggle could call an angel to me. I never had anyone helping me before, especially on the topic love, but she did. Hoe could a Gryffindor dare help a Slytherin who never showed any care for anyone. But I accepted that help, didn't I? I guess I did need it, even from a Gryffindor. But Miss Evans wasn't what I called a normal Gryffindor; she was too humble to be one, not like that bigheaded boyfriend of hers, James Potter.

She spent quite a lot of time helping me out with stuff in school because not only was she an expert on love, but she was also a great transfiguration tutor. I treasured those times we had because I knew that the time would come when she'd soon be out of my world, because soon I became a Death Eater.

After our graduation I gave my services to the dark lord, Voldemort, I became his Potions Master. I concocted the Veritaserum, which was to be given to spies from the world of the light. The dark lord said that I was the only one patient enough to make such potion.

Two years later, I found out the Lily Evans really did marry that James Potter, and I never thought it would get worse, until I heard that she had died in the hands of Voldemort, protecting her child. That was then I felt my weakest; l my light was gone.

As I saw my light go, my life felt as if it were also fading. I didn't want to go on serving what had killed someone I once loved. But I felt I needed to go on, not for myself, but for Lily. After I heard the news, I escaped Voldemort; I turned for help to first person I knew would understand. I served the light; I became a spy for the light. And with that I became a teacher at Hogwarts, as I waited for the perfect moment I would be able to return Lily.

Eleven years was all it took. Soon, I'd meet you Potter, son of Lily. I'd meet your eyes, which would burn like your father's. I wouldn't be able to avoid being angry with, yet I will endure. I will pay you back Lily, I will protect your son. I'll find my light again, I promise!
