It was thundering outside; the commonroom seemed colder as he shivered, sitting alone by the fireplace on a chair. In his hand was a quill; it would've been ready to write if it hadn't already dried up while Blaise sat in the chair like a rock and stared at the flames. He had been feeling cold inside although he was close to the fire, for his mind had been aching at something which hammered at his heart.

The raindrops kept pelting rhythmically on the glass window; its steady tempo close to that of Blaise's heartbeat. The sky was a dull grey; and Blaise feared the oncoming darkness.

Blaise sighed; Draco could never be his - not when he was occupied with Potter.

The Slytherin commonroom entrance door opened, and a tall blonde emerged from behind the portrait hole. Blaise looked down, gulping, and focused his eyes on his textbook without seeing a word. He pretended not to see his classmate.

Draco came over quietly, but it had seemed the air around Blaise warmed suddenly as he sensed Draco approaching.

"Blaise? What's wrong?" a tone of concern.

"Huh? What- what is wrong?" Blaise put on a look of slight surprise.

Draco seemed to lose some patience.

"Blaise..."

"What..."

Blaise heard Draco give the softest of sighs. Draco leaned forward and, standing behind Blaise, began to massage his shoulders.

Blaise didn't say anything; his mind was in a state of utter confusion. He looked down at his book again.

"You... you know that Potter boy? Have you... been seeing him recently?" Blaise mumbled cautiously, in case he touched a nerve. He watched the motionless page of his book.

"Yes, of course. We had something to clear up in Potions. Severus thought I tried to jinx Potter's potion, the old fool!" Draco rolled his eyes as he sneered mirthlessly. Blaise relaxed a little. The rain came down more lightly.

Then Draco's hand slid down his shoulders and crossed each other so that Draco was now embracing Blaise's neck and shoulders from the back.

"Blaise..." he said quietly, his face next to Blaise's.

A warm tear ran down Blaise's cheek.

"Oh, Draco..."

"I love you, Blaise, you know that."

"And I'm sorry... Draco, I'm sorry..."

"It's alright," Draco was whispering in his ear.

Blaise smiled.

"Don't leave me," the smile became sad and slightly bitter as he looked up into grey eyes - misting silver ones, actually.

"Who said I would ever leave you?" Draco leaned his head on the back of Blaise's. "I would never..." The sky faded to a light grey now, and it was a drizzle.

Blaise turned around in his chair and nuzzled Draco in the nose.

"Of course not, I've been foolish," he smiled again, this time with slight pleasure.

"You've just been lonely," Draco replied softly.

"And I've missed you dearly," Blaise finished, closing his lips onto Draco's.

Draco finished the kiss.

It was drizzling lightly under a pale grey sky with thinning clouds as two Slytherins strolled in the puddles by the lake...
