Hogwarts used to be a grand school. It used to have teachers that could be loved, and students who could be relied on. Pranks were abundant, and the worst part of your day would be a meeting with a pesky Peeves. Life was so simple...

There used to be Oliver Wood; Quidditch captain, reliable friend, and successful student. But that was a long time ago...

Cedric Diggory was the Hufflepuff's only representative. He was their god. Always seen with a group of friends, and always happy. His father still is proud of him. Wherever his life was meant to lead him, he would have held faithful friends and a supportive father. But that's long gone...

There was Lupin. A werewolf friend 'till the end. Having left because of that reason, he was one of few teachers that would physically listen. And he would care. But that was years past...

There was Fred and George, Kings of the school. They could always give you a laugh, and didn't take shit from anyone. Even Sprout could tell you stories about them. A student who'd never had an actual conversation with the twins could tell you of their latest prank in full detail. They were a team. Even on the Quidditch field. They had plenty of ways to nail you with a Bludger. Knowing every passage in the school, the duo was Hogwarts' main source of mischief. But that was before...

There was Dumbledore... Greatest headmaster Hogwarts has ever seen. Always with advice, and always a person to be around. Full of surprises, he was never one to yell. Even when he was mad it would come across as disappointment. You didn't have to know him... he knew you.

And then of course there was Harry. And Ron. And Hermione. But they should be here...

Either way she looked at it, this year was going to be hundreds of times as dreadful as a weekend at Great Aunt Tessie's. Ginny Weasley was alone at Hogwarts, and there was nothing she could do about it. Or was there?

She had to get out. There's no other way she could make it through the year without committing suicide.

She needed Harry. He was now her only sense of comfort, and until this was over... until it was like before, she mustn't show that. But could she? She needed someone to hold. Someone to love.

But she also needed someone to be there. Her brother. With Ron gone, there would be absolutely no fun, and nothing to make the day that slightest bit stale.

And without Hermione; her source of solitude. How could she possibly deal with these numbskulls? Not even just without Hermione, but with out the three of them.

Surely a fling with Dean would do nothing. It would help for the seconds he was intimate, but then he would turn back into a hardheaded prick.

At least there is Neville, she thought, finally hitting one of the brighter areas. But he couldn't provide her care. He would risk his life to protect her, and he surely has grown in confidence lately. But they were only friends...

And Draco's gone, she continued in thought, adding on the slight pleasure she was experiencing. But Snape is headmaster... she concluded, cursing herself for not having thought of it earlier. How could she even make it out alive? Snape as a Headmaster? He would only be at the school days at a time, and when he was, it would simply mean extra homework and courses on Dark Arts.

If something didn't happen involving her... or someone didn't help her... she would do something about it. There was no way she was about to sit in school where no ones teaching anything worth learning, while the order was dieing. The Order... her friends... her family.

The more she thought the more she cringed. Sitting on her bed, Ginny was admiring her empty dorm. She was in her own dorm this year, as she was one of five seventh year Gryffindors. The other four were sharing a dorm, and Ginny couldn't be any happier that she was alone. No more annoying little sluts...

In another thirty minutes the sorting ceremony would be taking place, and although she was going, there would be absolutely no celebration. This wasn't Hogwarts. This, was hell.
