I thought we belonged together.
I thought you loved me.
I thought a lot of things.
Most of them were wrong.
You were with me one day, but the next?
You were walking out of DADA with her draped over you like a blanket, a security blanket.
Wasn't I yours?
Obviously you haven't told her about me yet.
Not that you need to.
We were the most talked of romance in the school.
A Weasley and a Malfoy.
Who would have guessed it?
My brother always told me you were a snake.
I didn't believe him.
Now I do.
You've ruined my life.
Now I'm going to ruin yours.
I wonder how your father would feel knowing you had sex with a Weasley.

"Out with a bang," she said, giggling hysterically.
"Are you ok Ginny?"
So now he pretends that he cares.
"Maybe you should see Madam Pomfrey." He reached out to touch her on the shoulder.
"Get away from me!" she screamed, and then collapsed on the floor, sobbing.
Draco jerked backwards, a look of disgust on his face.
"Fine. If that's the way you want to be." He walked out.

Draco stormed down the hall, his normally handsome face contorted into a mask of hate. When he reached Ginny, standing aside from everyone else, he shoved her against the wall, hard. She gasped and sank to the floor clutching her shoulder. He reached down with the intention of doing it again, until he was lifted by the collar of his shirt and thrown bodily across the hallway. He scrambled up, wincing, as he turned to face the person who had come to Ginny's rescue.
Ron Weasley was standing over his sister, helping her up. Draco smirked.
"Weasel." It was a statement. "Coming to help your little slut sister?" He sneered.
Ron's face contorted in rage, and he started across the hall, only to be grabbed by Harry, who had been standing behind him unnoticed. Ginny jumped up angrily.
"Get away Ron! I can deal with this bastard myself. Just leave me alone."
Ron stepped back, hurt and surprise written all over his features. Ginny stepped forward as if to strike Draco, but instead she turned and ran down the hall, crying. Ron and Harry turned to watch her run up the stairs towards the Gryffindor Common Room, and in those few seconds, Draco had disappeared.
Ginny threw herself onto her bed, and screamed into her pillow until her voice was hoarse.
"Ginny?" It was Parvati calling. "It's time for dinner."
"I'll be down in a minute," replied Ginny.
Once everyone had left the common room, she ran into the bathroom and started to get things ready.

Over in the Slytherin Common Room, something similar was happening.
"Draco darling!" Pansy's voice rang through the dungeons.
"I'll be there in a minute. Go on without me, I'll catch up," called back Draco.
Content, Pansy left with her group of Slytherin friends. Once the common room emptied, Draco pulled out an Invisibility Cloak, and disappeared under it. Seconds later, the door opened, and then closed.

Why couldn't it just be you and me?
Draco stared at Ginny's inert form, the blood from her cut wrists seeping into the carpet, turning it a dark red. On the floor next to her was a dead snake.
