A Secret Crush-1

Hermione just kept on walking. She was so angry after what just happened. She was up at the owlery with Harry, and he handed her a letter. He said Hedwig had brought him this, this morning, and he forgot to give it to her. When she opened it, she saw that it was from Viktor Krum. The letter read:

Dear Herm-own-ninny,

I am sorry to not do this in person, but I feel that

we should break up.

I just think it's time we saw other people.

Love always,

Viktor

She finished reading, and then the door opened. It was Ron. He was startled to see Hermione looking like she was about to cry. "Hermione-"

She handed him the letter. He read it, and then his face went so angry. "Why that... that... that stupid git!" he said.

Ron didn't like, too well, how Hermione and Viktor were together last year. He had thought she was a traitor, and she was helping him win the Triwizard Tournament. It was, however, Harry and Cedric Diggory who won.

And that's when Hermione started walking away. She just kept on going, her eyes so full of tears she didn't even see anyone standing there and she ran right into them. "O-Oh, s-s-sorry," she managed.

She looked up at the figure of the person who stood before her. She couldn't make out who it was. It was someone with blond hair. She rubbed her eyes on her robes, then looked back up, at Draco Malfoy. He didn't even make some remark about how she should watch where she's going. The stood there for a moment.

"Are you okay?" Malfoy asked.

She stared at him a moment.

"Hermione?"

"Y-You called me Hermione," hse said.

He froze. Then... "I called you Granger like I always do."

She stared at him again. "I-I'm f-f-fine! Wh-Why wouldn't I b-b-b-b-b-b-be?" then she started crying again. Malfoy still didn't say anything. "Well, go on. Say something! Call me a m-m-m-"

"I'm not going to call you anything but Granger."

"Well, I have to go now," she sobbed. She turned to leave, but his hand went up in front of her. She looked up at him.

"What happened?"

"W-Why do you c-care?"

"Just tell me. I promise I won't laugh or make fun of you," he said.

"Really?"

"Yeah," Malfoy said. "Do you want to go somewhere and talk? Like the owlery?"

"The... the owlery?" she asked, but only before she started crying like mad.

"Or the lake?" he suggested.

"That's where we first k-k-k-kissed!" she moaned.

"Who?" he asked. "What about the astronomy tower?"

She nodded. They walked up to the astronomy tower, not talking the whole time. When they finally got to the top, Hermione went and sat down by the edge. Malfoy followed and sat down beside her. They sat there in silence a moment. "I got a letter," she said.

"From who?"

"Viktor... Viktor Krum." Silence. "He said we should see other p-people." She pulled the letter out of her pocket and handed it to Malfoy. He read it, and then looked at her with a look, almost like sincerity.

"Oh, Hermione!" he said. "I'm so sorry!" He didn't say this sarcastically, and she felt better. Also, this time she was certain he called her Hermione. She heard it clearly. But she made no comment. They sat there in silence for a while.

"I'm sure you really love Pansy," Hermione said, after a minute.

"Pansy?"

"Pansy Parkinson."

"No. I never liked her. It was her who liked me," Malfoy answered. "I like someone else."
