Chapter 1: An Unusual Christmas

It was Christmas morning. Harry Potter was lying in bed, dreaming of Cho Chang, as usual. He didn't even want to consider waking up, but as fate would have it, Harry's red haired friend, Ron Weasley wouldn't have it.

"Come on Harry," Ron urged, "wake up."

"Just a few more minutes," Harry mumbled.

"I don't think so, Harry. It's Christmas, you are not allowed to sleep in on Christmas; Hermione would have your head."

"All right," said Harry sleepily. He got up and told Ron that he would be downstairs in a few minutes after he got dressed.

As Harry got dressed in his robes, a strange figure in robes of his own was outside the portrait of the Fat Lady who guarded Gryffindor tower.

"Password?" she asked.

"I need to get in to see Harry Potter," the strange being said.

"No password, no entry."

"Listen, if you don't let me in, I will blow you off your frame, and you won't have anywhere to run like you did when Sirius Black attacked you," said the being calmly, yet with a certain coldness in his voice.

"All right," the Fat Lady said terrified. "You can go in, just don't hurt me." She swung open revealing the entrance to the Gryffindor common room.

Hermione Granger was waiting for Harry in the common room when she saw the Fat Lady open. She assumed that Professor McGonagall coming in to wish them a Merry Christmas. What she saw instead was a boy of about sixteen wearing midnight blue robes that had an ice blue outline coming in. Hermione had never seen this boy before in her life and wondered why he was here, he obviously wasn't a Gryffindor.

"Who are you?" she asked. Her hand was close to the wooden wand she had.

"I am Levi Rhodes," replied the boy. "I am looking for Harry Potter. Where is he?"

"Well, Levi, Harry isn't here, and you are not about to kidnap him." Hermione drew her wand and pointed it at Levi. "You can leave now, or do I have to hex you out?"

"Why do they insist on fighting?" Levi grumbled. "Well if I must. BINDING CIRCLE!" Levi lifted his left hand as he said this. His eyes, which were all ready an icy blue, somehow seemed colder. A circle with strange markings on it appeared as if it came from his raised hand and shot towards Hermione. Hermione couldn't react in time and was trapped by the circle. She couldn't move. It was like being placed under the Full-Body Bind. She was stuck in the circle. She could only watch as Levi went around the room, doing the same to those that were also there, yet didn't know that Levi had paralyzed Hermione.

Harry came downstairs a little bit later and found everyone stuck in circles that had weird markings.

"What the heck?" he asked himself.

"Sorry Harry," said a voice behind him. Harry turned around to see a sixteen-year old boy with icy blue eyes standing right behind him. Harry backed away a few steps. "I didn't want to do it, but they left me with no choice."

"What did you do to them?"

"They are trapped within a Binding Circle. It is sort of what it would feel like if you were trapped in a, what do you call it, a Full-Body Bind."

"So they are okay?"

"For the time being. I'm Levi, Levi Rhodes. Necro of the Night, and sworn enemy of Necromancers."

"Doesn't necro mean death?"

"The translation in not literal."

"Oh. What do you mean by 'For the time being'?"

"A Necromancer has escaped through time, to the time of the Founders of Hogwarts." the Necro explained. "It is known to all Necros that you have faced this Necromancer a ton of times. His name is Tom Riddle, you might know him as Voldemort."

"Voldemort?" Harry asked, surprised. "Why would he want to go to the past?"

"To kill the founders," Levi replied gravely.

"But he is the descendent of Salazar Slytherin. Surely he wouldn't kill his ancestor?"

"He wants to kill Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor; not Slytherin."

"What do you want me to do? We are stuck in the now, we can't time travel centuries in the past."

"Ah, but we can. The Elders, the leaders of the Necros, can create Time Circles to send us back in time. We need your help to stop Riddle. You are the only one who can. Will you help us?"

"I...I will," Harry said.

"Good, now follow me." Levi led Harry to the boy's dormitory window and opened it.

"Huh, we are going out the window? We'll die if we jump."

"No we won't." Levi waved his left hand out the window and another circle appeared, a white one with the same strange markings on it. "Hop on." Harry did so, and Levi followed. "Now hold on tight."

"To what?" but Levi had already taken off. Cold air rushed by Harry's face as he and Levi climbed higher and higher into the sky. Harry could barely feel his face. Before Harry had decided to ask the Necro where they were going, they stopped.

"Where are we?" Harry asked as he got off the circle after Levi, it vanished in an instant.

"We are at Ceria, the home of all Necros."
