Hermione could tell she was boring Harry and Ron, but she couldn't help it. Head Girl at Hogwarts was a very important position. She knew she shouldn't be too worried about getting the spot, but she was. What if they thought she was irresponsible or too adventurous? She pushed her worries from her mind and set off to patrol the corridors, and hopefully run into the Head Boy in her travels. As she left, she noticed the looks of relief on Harry and Ron's faces.

"Honestly, I'm not that bad!" They nodded but rather reluctantly, snorting as she left.

Blaise Zabini was sitting in the Heads' compartment when Hermione walked in; he wasn't really surprised that she had made Head Girl. He had had a crush on her for quite sometime now, but wasn't about to say anything. So, as nonchalantly as he could, he looked her up and down and drawled out, in his best imitation of Malfoy, "Looking good, Granger." The imitation was ruined do to the fact that his voice chose to crack at the last moment.

No one could say his comment was untruthful, though Granger had filled out quite nicely over the years; her hair now flowed out in dark chestnut-brown waves over her back. At a good 5'7, she was just above average height and had curves most girls were envious of.

She looked at him with a mixture of shock and disgust. Apparently she was surprised by the Headmaster's choice. Walking to the seat opposite him, Hermione said, "I've already patrolled the corridors and I would appreciate it if you would treat me with more respect, seeing as we have to spend a year living together."

He just smirked and looked out the window.

She would have thought that the Headmaster would have been smart enough not to choose an arrogant Slytherin to be Head Boy, but, after considering it, she couldn't see who else should've gotten the spot.

She had to admit, but only to herself, he was very handsome with his Italian good looks and wavy black hair. A Gryffindor could not be seen dating a Slytherin; even finding one attractive was probably considered treason.

Zabini looked up, a little worried, but hurriedly put up a façade of indifference. Now that she was thinking about it, his voice had raised an octave at the end of the comment thrown at her, and now this, maybe she would have to rethink things.

He could tell she had seen the look in his eyes and now she seemed to be deep in thought. Suddenly, the train jolted and he was shot forward on top of her. He was about to get up when he saw the look in her eyes and froze, eyes darkening.

Hermione was surprised that the train had flung Blaise on top of her but, more importantly, that she didn't want him to get up. When she looked into his eyes, all rational thought abandoned her.

He slowly lowered himself toward her, giving her enough time to push him away. When she didn't move, he kissed her on the lips, hard.

She felt his tongue on her lips and opened her mouth; when he groaned, she was overboard.

His world became one of pure bliss when she opened her mouth. All the times he had thought about doing this, he thought it would be good, but his thoughts were nothing compared to the live version. Moving to her neck and slowly unbuttoning her blouse to get to her ribcage, he heard her moan and felt himself hardening.

"Zabini . . ." She thought they were moving at an increasingly fast pace and that they should slow things down a little and talk about it. But when she felt his erection pressing against her thigh and him kissing his way down her stomach, she threw caution to the wind and let her basic instincts take over.

He felt himself being pushed over and saw her casting silencing and locking charms on the door. Then she moved down his body, unbuttoning his trousers and pushing them off along with his boxers. As he felt her mouth wrap around his length, he could tell he was close, but before he came, he brought her back up and slid off her underwear, pulled up her skirt, and slid into her, not taking his eyes off her the whole time.

She could hardly believe this was happening, but she wasn't going to stop him anytime soon. It just felt right and so, matching his thrusts as best as she could, she came with a cry, Blaise following soon after. He felt like he was dreaming; everything he had imagined, and even some things he hadn't, were coming true. Afraid he would wake up and the dream would be over, he clung to her as hard as he could.

After a while, she wondered what time it was and was shocked to see that only fifteen minutes had passed in what felt like eternity. With a slight push on Blaise's shoulder, she sat up. She carefully got dressed and, after watching her for a moment, Blaise did too.

Once they were decent, she took off the charms, sat in the seat opposite of him, and said, "We have to talk about what just happened here." She paused. "It was amazing, but so sudden."

"I know Hermione," he said, his voice sounding a little rough, "but later please; it's going to take a while and we'll be at Hogwarts soon."

Suddenly, she realized what she had done. 'I just lost my virginity to a Slytherin, on the train, with eleven-year -old kids in the next compartment!' she thought.

Knowing she would be going back to her compartment soon, she kissed Blaise soundly on the lips. Just as the kiss was getting interesting, she heard someone outside the door.

"Hey 'Mione, we were wonderi...HERMIONE!!!" Ron yelled.

She and Blaise flew apart, startled. "Ron what are you doing here?!" she exclaimed, her voice a little too high for her liking.

"What the bloody hell am I doing here?" he asked, incredulous. "What are you doing here with this insufferable git?! He's on the ferret's side! He's probably trying to use you!!!"

"Weasley," Blaise said warningly.

"Oh, don't get me started on you, you smarmy little git. I ought to take your head and shove it up your arse, you filthy little . . . Hermione, what the hell were you thinking?!?"

"Ron, let's go."

"But--"

"No buts, let's go!" she said, emphasizing the last part with a shove. As she left, she cast Blaise an apologetic glance over her shoulder.

Blaise wasn't listening to what Ron was telling Hermione out in the corridor, all he could think about was what just happened. 'This is going to be an interesting year indeed' he thought, without knowing Hermione had just been thinking the same thing.
