- Okay, i hope everyone likes this story. This is my first sorta girl-girl story. I still don't know how I'm gonna end it. It's more of a love triangle. This is dedicated to the class of '04 cause i'll miss em next year. Especially my two fav seniors.
Harry looked over at Hermione with an expression of mixed emotions on his face. Hermione wouldn't look into his eyes. Those beautiful emerald green eyes of his were gorgeous. But it hurt her to see the sadness, sense of betrayal, hurt, and anger in them.
"Why Hermione?" he choked out. "Why'd you have to tell me? Why did you have to lead me on all these years?" She covered her face with her hands and shook her head.
"I didn't expect this to happen. We were friends. That's all. Nothing more was supposed to happen. We've been best friends for twelve years, friends for fourteen. It was simply platonic. My feelings weren't supposed to be returned. At least...not that strongly."
"Look at me Hermione." She reluctantly looked over at him. "Do you love her?" She sighed. "Of course you do. You've loved her for fourteen years...haven't you? That's why you decided to become friends with her."
"Yes alright? You've got it down. You're right. But I had no idea that she felt the same way for me." He laughed at his wife's statement.
"How could she not love you Mione? You're so wonderful. So beautiful." Hermione's heart clenched. Just because she loved Sarah, didn't mean that she loved Harry any less, and seeing him like this really hurt. It hurt her so bad. "So, how many other girls have you like?"
"None."
"I don't believe you!"
"Well it's true. I've never likes another girl the way I've liked Sarah. She's the only one!"
"I don't know why you couldn't just ya know, given me a heads up. 'Hey Harry, before we get married, just thought you should know that I love a woman!' That might've been nice!!!" His voice was now filled with anger and rage. Hermione grimaced.
"I'm sorry okay? I know that means shit, just saying sorry, but I am!"
"So what now Hermione? What do we do now?" She shook her head.
"I don't know. I really don't. I've never been this confused."
"We've been married for ten years Hermione. Are you just going to give that up? And what about our children? Danielle and Samantha are going to be devastated if you leave."
"Did I say I was leaving?"
"Well what do you want to do? We can't exactly go back to the way things were before, and even if we could, you'd never be able to forget your feelings for her."
"Don't you think I know all this? But I honestly don't know what to do. I love you, I love her, and I love our children. And I know that I do not want to be apart from them."
"Hermione, you can't have us both. And I don't know if I'd even want to share you."
"What do you want to do Harry?" He heaved a big sigh.
"Well, it's only been what, a half hour since you told me? I need to think this all through. Maybe I should just go for a while. This is a lot to take in. And I'm just feeling a lot of emotions right now. I don't know how to handle it."
"Would you like me to leave?"
"No. I know if you did you would just be staying at her house, and the thought of you two alone together...I don't even want to go there." She nodded her head in understanding. "Hermione, I love you. I love you so much, but this is just too much to take. I don't know what to do. I think I'll stay with Ron or something. I don't know. And I'll come over to see the girls everyday. But I need time alone. Lots and lots of time to think."
"Okay, makes sense." She finally managed to keep eye contact with him as much as it stung to see the miserable look in his eyes. After they stared at each other for a few minutes, Harry got up to leave. He went up the stairs, packed his bags, said goodbye to his daughters (he told them he had a trip to go to, but that he would be visiting them everyday) and then went back to Hermione.
"Well, I guess I'm off." She looked down.
"I guess you are." They stood for a minute before Harry took her into his arms and kissed her. He then backed away with tears in his eyes and apparated away. He had hoped that she would've put up a fight instead of letting him go so easily.
Hermione stayed staring into the spot where Harry had been standing, for at least 15 minutes. She couldn't believe he was gone. But he had a right to be mad. She was in love with someone else. She still hoped they could all work things through.
"I guess I can only wait to find out," she thought to herself.
Author notes: Okay, Sarah's not my name, it's the name of a good friend of mine, so that's where i get my username from.
