Ginevera Malfoy looked around the room. The furniture was broken and thrown across the master bedroom. The cloth was ripped, paintings slashed. She saw their fireplace boarded up, lest anyone come find her. He made sure of that. Then she looked down at the floor she laid on. The expensive rug was drenched in thick red liquid. Blood. Finally, she managed to look at her broken body. Both of her legs had been broken, and she had bruises running up each limb. She was sure a lung had been punctured, what with having trouble breathing, and she was quite certain that she had suffered a blow to the head. What was causing the most bleeding, however, was the stomach wound. She was no medi-witch, but she did not need to be one in order to determine she would not live without immediate medical attention.

However, her husband had been called away on business for the Ministry.

Which was why Lucius chose this week to attack her. Lucius had been furious when he found out Draco had been secretly dating Ginny. When Draco had refused to "get rid of the distraction," Lucius threatened to kill her. After joining the Order, the couple needed protection. And so, with Dumbledore's help, the two were placed under the Fidelius charm. After living that way for a year and a half, they were married, with their family and friends there. Not even an hour after the party the two were again placed under the charm, which had been removed for the festivities.

And now, 8 months after their wedding, Ginny was dying. There had been the Final Battle in which Voldemort had been slain by Harry. Harry, however, died as he turned around when Lucius sent the killing curse his way. Bellatrix had killed Dumbledore, while fighting unfairly in a duel. Due to Dumbledore's death, the fidelius charm had been removed.

Lucius had found their home relatively easily. He then waited until Draco was away and broke in. Ginny had been taking a shower when he came in and dragged her out by her hair. He had then raped her, just because he could. He made sure that she was focused on the pain when he hit her for the first time. While he was raping her, he beat her and called her filth. After he finished with one task, he set about dragging her from the bathroom into the bedroom.

"So you can die in the room where you tarnished the Malfoy name," is what he had said.

She put up a struggle then, and had run as fast as she could. Tripping over furniture, she threw it behind her to block his path. He slashed every painting he came across because he knew they would tell Draco what happened. He wanted his son to suffer without knowing what had occurred in his precious wife's final minutes.

When he finally caught up with her, he threw her hard to the floor, and slowly broke both of her legs, so that she couldn't run away again. As she screamed, he pulled out a knife he had taken from the kitchen and slashed her stomach deeply. He wanted her to suffer as much as possible for "ruining" Draco's destiny, for he was supposed to become a Death Eater like his father. Lucius saw her as the reason Draco refused, and was determined to make her pay the price.

But Ginny was strong, and still tried to fight him off. Refusing to give in, she scratched and screamed for help. Getting tired of her nonsense, Lucius stabbed her in the chest. He had planned on killing her quickly, but then decided drawing her death out would be more painful for both Draco and Ginny.

Before he left, he boarded up the fireplace, knowing Draco's habit of floo-ing each day to say good night.

Confident of the damage done, Lucius bade farewell to Ginny and apparated out of the manor.

Ginny closed her eyes tightly as a warm tear fell down her cheek. She was all alone, with no way out of a hopeless situation. Draco would not floo for another 6 hours at the earliest, and she could be dead by then. Oh Merlin, don't let me die this way. Let me see my husband again. Let me tell him how much I love him.

She had nothing left to do but wait. She counted everything in the room; broken pieces of furniture, clouds outside the window, paintings, nails in the wood boarding up the fireplace. At last, as she felt herself slipping away, she heard a noise that made her heart leap. Draco had come home.

Draco walked into his home and knew there was something very, very wrong. The floo had been boarded up. It was too quiet. Being married to Ginny required large quantities of noise to be present at all times. He looked around the drawing room slowly, as his heart sank.

There were pieces of furniture all over the floor, and signs of a struggle. As he raced up the stairs, thoughts flew through his head. Oh Merlin, let her be ok. Please let him not have found her. Please let this all be a bad dream.

He madly looked around the upstairs to their mansion, fearing the worst. As his eyes darted, he noticed that every painting was slashed. Someone had been here and Ginny was in trouble.

He raced into the bedroom and staggered back. Seeing the furniture and the sheer mass of chaos, he knew this is where the main struggle had been.

"Ginny! Ginny if you're in here please say something!"

A soft gasp alerted him to a shadowed place behind an upturned sofa. His heart dropped to his feet when he saw the blood that surrounded his wife. As he cradled her in his arms, the tears rapidly fell down his face.

"I....I love you Draco."

"No! Don't say that- you can't die. I can't live without you. I love you too much!"

As much as he didn't want it to be true, minutes later Ginevra Molly Weasley Malfoy closed her eyes peacefully. Before dying, she had one last thought: Thank you Merlin.
