However Far Away - Part II
Chapter Four

by Sea Isle Witch

The emerald pendant encircled with diamonds rested on her milky white skin. She was kneeling before him, immediately after accepting the Oath of Betrothal. The witch's robe she wore was open, revealing her breasts. Her lips were swollen from his kisses, and her hair was slightly tousled. She was simply breathtaking.

Draco gave her one last, very tender kiss and then leaned against the footboard of the bed. He looked at her intensely.
She's mine now.

Pansy confidently met his gaze as she settled back amid the pillows at the head of her bed. She curled her long legs to the side and smoothed her witch's robe. She knew she looked beautiful, especially adorned with his astonishing gift. Now that they were betrothed, the realisation that she had more influence over him was satisfying.
I will use it wisely, she thought, watching as he lounged on her bed, all sexy with his shirt open. He's truly my wizard now.

Engaged, just like I planned, even after all that drama! I knew she'd accept my offer after last night. She was surprised when I pulled out the pendant; she couldn't say no to that! It looks amazing on her lovely body, and it brings out her eyes too; it was an excellent choice. This should keep her firmly under my control, even when I'm not around. She won't do anything rash if she hears something about me now.

Oh, Branwen! After everything that happened, we are engaged to be married! I've dreamed of this ever since the Yule Ball. Draco came here with the intention of proposing, so I know he's been thinking about me this whole time. He loves me and wants me, just as he said that night. I did let him take my pure-blood virginity, but he came through with the Oath and these fabulous jewels. I know he won't break his vow to me.

I can't believe I finally had her! Mmmm! Last night was even better than my fantasy of ravishing the pure-blood, virgin Pansy. I'll never forget how beautiful she looked in the candlelight, as I felt her for the first time. I'm going to have her as many times as she'll let me before I go.

Last night was incredibly romantic; it felt as if we were in a faerie tale. It was so natural between us, and I didn't feel embarrassed. He was intensely sensual, yet so gentle and loving. Draco took care to make it unforgettable for me.

Pansy sighed happily.
I'm so much in love with him! I'm glad that little elf Winky was able to get the witches' potion for me, or I might be uncomfortable, especially after what we did this morning. I'll need to take a bit more, so I'll be ready when he wants me again later. I wonder what it will be like next time.

Now, what to tell her? Hmmm... I really can't say where I've been or what I've been doing, but that's what she will want to know. I can't tell her any of the things I've witnessed because it would repulse her. I need her to think of me as the wizard she loves, not the Death Eater she loathes, or I'll lose her.

He has a lot of explaining to do. What really happened the night Professor Dumbledore was murdered, and how does he fit into all of that trouble? Where has he been all this time? Who has he been with? I hope he's not had to do anything really horrible.

She's going to have a lot of questions for me. I guess I'll just try to focus the discussion on her. What she's been doing. Nah, she won't fall for that. I could talk about what our life will be like together someday. Yeah! I'll tell her all about how I'm going to spoil her with gifts and trips, while making love to her all the time. She will like that idea I'm sure. Draco grinned at his own cunning. If she starts asking too many questions that I can't answer, I'll start touching her and make her forget all about them.

I wonder what our life will be like together. My parents need to know about our engagement, so Draco and I will have to tell them soon. They will be shocked at first, but when they see how much we love each other, they will understand. Yes, I'm sure they will.

Pansy looked down at her pendant.
It's so beautiful! Now, let's see... I'll just leave school so we can be married right away. We can't live at Malfoy Manor because Death Eaters could be there, and I'm not keen on living with his mother anyway. Hmmm... Draco and I will go to the continent to be near my brothers; we will divide our time between France and Italy. I think Draco would like that, and we'd be away from all this unpleasantness. I know I'd be happy wherever we are together.

Now that Ravenclaw... What's his name? Hmmm... Entwhistle? Yeah, that's it. He was a decent Chaser for Ravenclaw. I wonder if he's wealthy. He can't be better off than me; there's no way. Draco smirked. I think he might be a pure-blood, which makes him more of a threat. I saw the way he watched her by the fire. She looked so gorgeous and vulnerable, and I know he wanted to shag her. If he would have tried anything, I would have seriously hurt him.

He glanced at her.
Well, she's mine now that we are betrothed. I've taken her pure-blood innocence, if that's what he was after, and she's wearing my pendant. She won't be forgetting any of those things anytime soon. I'll need to set her straight about him before I go; she doesn't know how wizards think. She needs to make it absolutely clear that she's unavailable, without telling him about me.

That Winifred had better never cross my path! I hate the thought of her touching his body. It drives me mad knowing he was shagging slags during the breaks. Pansy glanced at him; he was deep in thought as well. I suppose I had some idea, since he wasn't pressuring me, but it still hurts. I'm sure he never intended for me to know. Pansy sighed. It was going to be difficult for her to get those images out of her mind.

Our relationship was different then, but now Draco has given me this heirloom pendant, and we have taken the Oath of Betrothal. He's in love with me, and I know he'd do anything for me. I must push all thoughts of him with someone else out of my mind and focus on the future.

The scheme is damn complicated, but we have to pull it off. I can't believe it all hinges on him in the end, the Chosen One and all that. Damn scar-headed prat! Once it's done though, Pansy and I can live life the way we are entitled, and I'll do anything to have that with her. I don't know how long it will take, but now she knows I intend to marry her; I'm not stringing her along any more. When I go, the pendant will be a constant reminder of me and the magic that binds us together. She will wait for me safely at school and take her N.E.W.T.s. By that time, maybe things will be different.

"Draco, I have so many questions. I haven't heard from you in six months, and then you show up last night, take my virginity and betroth me. I'm not complaining about the last two parts, of course," she said, smiling and blushing on cue, while fondling the jewels resting between her marvellous breasts, which were still on display, "but I deserve some answers."

Oh, she's bloody amazing! I've got to have her right now! Draco licked his lips and moved closer, but she held up her hand to stop him from touching her.

"No, Draco, you can't get out of answering my questions by making love to me." She was smiling, but there was no mistaking her determination. "Later," she said, pulling her witch's robe closed just a bit. "No distractions for you now."

Denied! Damn! Draco knew he couldn't ferret out of this one. He sighed and closed his eyes. Stalling for time, he breathed deeply several times and rubbed his temples. He slyly glanced at her. She was watching him and raised her eyebrows. It was clear she was waiting for him to talk.

"I really can't tell you much. There are two reasons. First and most importantly, nobody must find out about us. The Dark Lord forces me to do things under the threat of killing my family. If he find out about you, they might torture you as a punishment for something that I didn't do to
his satisfaction. They hurt witches, Pansy, in terrible ways," he said, choking on his words. Draco wrapped his arms around her protectively and calmed himself by breathing deeply. "I will do anything to keep you safe, even die."

"I love you too," she said, while caressing his face. She knew she should feel scared, but he made her feel safe.

Draco kissed her passionately. "I'm not purposely trying to keep you in the dark about things, but I have no choice."

"What's the other reason, Draco?" she asked, while lightly rubbing his shoulders.

"Second, if I tell you where I've been, someone could use Legilimency on you to find me, and I'd be sent to Azkaban."

"I will do whatever it takes to make sure that won't happen, Draco, but you aren't the target of the wizard hunt, Professor Snape is." She continued to rub his shoulders.

"The Aurors want to talk to me. They ambushed Mother at Gringotts and made her go to the Ministry for questioning. I don't know how she resisted their probing because she's not been herself since Father was detained, but she was able to hold the Aurors off."

Pansy was listening carefully, so he continued.

"Anyone could tell them about our school relationship, Pansy, and the Aurors could come here to talk to you. So, I cannot tell you anything."

Pansy stopped her attentions and stared at him. "Draco, there are Aurors here at Hogwarts right now. They could have tried to question me at anytime, but they haven't. I'm sure they are not allowed to use Legilimency on students."

"You're seventeen; you're an adult, and they could still question you."

"They haven't and they won't; besides, my parents would never allow it. So, there's nothing to worry about. Now, I have to know all about what you've been doing."

Draco shook his head. "No."

She pulled way from him and sat on the edge of the bed.
He's not going to tell me anything. I have to know so I can help him.

"Pansy, I'm a skilled Occlumens now; I've been practicing nearly everyday for eighteen months. If they ever break through my barriers, I may be able to think of someone else in your place, to stop them from seeing you."

"Someone else?" she said, turning to face him. "Who? Bunny?"

Draco sighed. "I thought we were done with that."

"Apparently not." Pansy stood, closing her robes and firmly tying the ribbon that held it together. She started to pace, as she always did when she was upset. Fefnir looked up curiously from his basket and watched his mistress. Pansy tossed him a Cruppy treat, which he caught in mid air. "Well done, Fefnir."

"Pansy, you have to accept it. I won't tell you anything about what I've had to do for the Dark Lord, or where I've been." Draco swung his legs around so he was sitting on the edge of the bed. Fefnir came over, and Draco picked him up. "Hey there, little Cruppy."

"I shan't accept that, Draco. I waited for six months knowing nothing. It was impossible for me to endure. You must tell me what I want to know."

~ * ~

"I wanted to send messages to you everyday, but they were watching me, and I wasn't going to put you in danger. I told you what it might be like at the tree house. It nearly destroyed me to be away from you, but I did it to protect you and your family."

"Who was watching you? Was it Professor Snape and that Bellatrix?" She glanced at Draco, who was giving Fefnir some much needed attention.
My two loves.

"I can't tell you anything more. You shouldn't even know about them. You must practice Occlumency from now on."

"I do that already," Pansy told him.

"Keep it up then."

"That letter really upset me. How do you think it made me feel to see Killer circling overhead--finally, only to have him land in front of that silly second year imp?"

"I'm sorry about that! I haven't been using Killer at all because enough people know he's mine. Mother must be using him, but I don't know how Bunny was able to get to him. I haven't seen her, not at the manor or anywhere else. Perhaps Mother was approached by the Watsons about the marriage and..."

"The marriage!"

"Not the
real marriage! Mother must have been convinced I had to marry Bunny by dear Aunt Bellatrix. I haven't even talked to Mother about it yet. As soon as I found out, I came to you."

Pansy stopped pacing and stood in front of him. "You told me Mrs Malfoy thought I was 'a beautiful, intelligent, enchanting young witch'. You said those were her exact words! She thought highly of my family too. You made it sound like she would be proud to have me as a daughter-in-law someday. Was I wrong to think that?"

"She does. I mean she did. Those were her words! Mother thinks we are no longer together, just as everybody else does. I don't think Mother could withstand any probing by Bellatrix, so I can't tell her the truth about us. Bellatrix is not going to know anything about you. She's the one we have to be the most careful about; she's completely unpredictable."

"So in the meantime, your mother and Bellatrix make arrangements for you to marry someone else!" Pansy casually picked her wand up from the bedside table. She continued to pace around the room, moving her wand around in her hand.

Draco noticed her actions.
Damn! She's got her wand out again! Anticipating trouble, Draco put Fefnir down, and the Cruppy scampered back to his basket.

"Wait!" Pansy spun around to look at him, pointing her wand. "You've been at Malfoy Manor this whole time!"
I have you now, Draco!

Damn! She caught that! "I didn't say that."

"Yes, you did! You just said you haven't seen her at the manor!"
He's trying to weasel out of telling me!

"I can't tell you anything. I've told you why. Let's change the subject," he said firmly, crossing his arms.
There, that should make her stop this questioning.

~ * ~

Pansy knew she wasn't getting anywhere, so she tried a new tactic. "Draco, all I had to go on all these months was what you told me that night at the bottom of the ladder. I knew you meant those words then, but I didn't know if you still did. I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever see you again. It hurt me terribly when I found out about Bunny, and I almost gave up on us. If you hadn't come last night, I honestly don't know what would have happened."

"Don't give up on us--ever!" Draco told her vehemently. "No matter what you hear, the truth is that I want
you. I've always wanted you. No one can break our Oath and force me to marry anyone else, but for now, there isn't anything that I can do so that we can be together."

"What?"

"I have to go back, Pansy. Surely you realise that."

"Go back to what?"

"I showed you what Snape said. The last thing I want to do is leave you, but I must."

"I don't care what Professor Snape said! Besides, he already knows about me; do you remember who interrupted us at the tree house?"

"I'm confident Snape doesn't think we're together. He probably thought it was a one-time thing, for me at least."

"You told him... You told him that I was a one-time shag?" Pansy was outraged, and she tightened her grip on her wand.

"No, but he can draw his own conclusions. I don't want him to know anything about us, so it's best he thinks something along those lines."

"It's okay with you if people think your intended is a slag?" Pansy was furious.

Damn! I didn't think of it like that! Draco resisted the urge to hit himself on the forehead. "Of course that's not what I want, Pansy."

"You told Professor Snape you needed to see someone, and you asked about a passageway. If that passageway leads to Hogwarts, then he will know it's me you came to see! He's seen us spending time together for six years; he has caught us snogging before! Draco, he saw our passion firsthand that night; there's no faking that! It should have been obvious to him that we're in love!"

How did I overlook that? Draco rubbed his temples. She's thought of one thing, and now she thinks I'm going to crumble and tell her. I need to get her under control--now.

"See, Draco! You should just tell me what I want to know!"

"I will not tell you what is happening. I don't want you involved at all. You need to stay here. I need you safe, Pansy. You don't know the breed of people I'm dealing with. You will finish your year, take your N.E.W.T.s and hopefully we can be together someday."

Pansy was stomping around the room now. Fefnir stood in his basket and yelped. "What do you mean, hopefully someday? You're breaking my heart, Draco!"

"I'm not trying to break your heart. Now calm down."

"I
am calm!" Pansy yelled. I'm just sick of this impossible situation!

Draco flinched.
Bloody hell! She's got her wand pointing at me again! He knew a mad witch with a wand was a bad combination, but a mad Slytherin witch named Pansy was... "Expelliarmus!" He jumped up and deftly caught her wand.

"Draco! Give back my wand! Now!
Accio wand!"

"Pansy, we have to talk about this rationally." Draco held onto her wand tightly.

"If you think you are just going to walk out of here, you're mad! You're finally here with me! I'm happy! We made love! We are betrothed! You just can't leave!" Hot tears streamed down her face. She turned so he wouldn't see her crying--again.
Stop crying! I want him with me! I need to help him! Why doesn't he understand that? Why are things so complicated?

~ * ~

Draco sunk into the cosy chair by the window and put his head in his hands.
I made her cry--again. "Merlin!" He was so frustrated and knew she was too. He wanted her know what was happening, but he wasn't going to make her vulnerable to probing minds. The situation was rapidly deteriorating, and he had to stop it before something bad happened. Pansy needs to relax, so she won't faint again.

"Pansy, come over here and let me hug you." He held out his arms.

She wiped her tears and turned to look at him. She sighed.
He's trying. Pansy was compelled to walk over and sit in his lap.

"Please don't get so upset with me. My intentions are honourable," he whispered, holding her close.
I wish there was some other way.

He's just trying to protect me, and I love him for that, but there has to be something he can tell me.

I know! "Let me tell you about your pendant." She will want to hear this!

She looked down at the pendant and touched it. She gazed at him through her watery eyes and nodded.

"The Malfoy Emerald has been in the family for at least seven centuries," Draco began pompously. "The pendant was made with it for the betrothal of Eadald Malfoy to Cwen Fox about 400 years ago. There's a portrait of Cwen wearing it at Malfoy Manor. She's a dark-haired beauty, like you." He gave her a squeeze. "I remember thinking, as a young lad, how pretty the witch in the portrait was. She would always smile at me too."

Pansy broke into a smile.
I expect he was an adorable little wizard. Just look at him now.

"I knew the pendant had to be yours for our betrothal, so I went to get it straightaway. I had no idea you'd rip my clothes off before I could offer the Oath," Draco said, smirking, "but I was hoping."

Pansy gave him a pinch. "Well, you looked so dashing in your wizard's riding habit, I just couldn't help myself."

"I knew you'd like that."

"You are horrible, Draco Malfoy! Playing on my weaknesses!" she said, feigning outrage.

Draco laughed, and then gave her a quick kiss on her lips. "Let me finish telling you about the pendant. Each stone has magical properties..."

"Emeralds are the most magical stones for love, and help with mental clarity too," Pansy interrupted.

Draco nodded. "This emerald is particularly magical, according to the parchments that go with it," he said, touching the stone.

"Oh! Did you bring them?"

"The parchments are bound in a large book, so I couldn't carry it with me last night. I'll make sure you can see them as soon as it's possible. The history of each stone, where it came from and what magic it possesses, is documented. I only had enough time to skim through it, but I did find out that the combination of diamonds and emeralds is supposed to enhance sexual pleasure," he said with a wicked smile.

"Draco!"

"Not that we need that type of help after last night and this morning," he teased, while his hands roamed across her body. "There are family protections placed on the pendant. I'll try to find out what they are."

"I will always wear it close to my heart, to keep our love safe."

While he kissed her, Draco untied the green ribbon of her witch's robe and loosened the lacing. His lips moved to his favourite bits, and she arched her back toward him.
I'm just the wizard to make her feel better. He slid the silky white robe down past her hips, taking in her beauty. She is perfect for me.

I don't want to be without him ever again. I need him.

Pansy pushed his shirt off his shoulders and rubbed his chest lightly, while gazing into his loving eyes. She moved her hands down to unfasten his trousers and snaked her hand inside, feeling him against her hand. She watched his face as she stroked him within the confines of his pants.

She's getting familiar with me...finally! Oh, that feels good. I'll just let her do whatever she wants. No pressure. She's reaching for me now, so I know I can have her anytime I'd like. Mmmm... That's it, Pansy.

Knowing he needed more, she silently stood, and her robe dropped to the floor.

Damn! She's perfectly sexy! She's mine too.

~ * ~

She took his hand and led him willingly over near the bed, where he gave back her wand.

"Fides Detineo Conceptus Temporalis Interclusio Virils Viscus," she whispered, and then turned to her bedside chest to discretely drink a measure of the potion.

Draco noticed the phial, but didn't ask about it for now. Instead, he removed his clothes and secured her firmly against his torso.

Pansy caught her breath.
I'm going to melt right here.

"Mmmm... You lovely witch, taunting me with your luscious body," he said, sliding his hands from her hips to her bum, crushing her against him. "What do you want from this wizard?"

Pansy closed her eyes, panting slightly.

I've taken her breath away!

She looked at him, and he raised his eyebrows.

He wants me to say it! I can't! Can I? I'll try. Let me think...

"What's all this I hear about you being the Sorcerer of Slytherin?" she said in her most aristocratic tone, trying to maintain a straight face.

Draco burst out laughing!
How did she come up with that?

She stepped back, blatantly appraising his tantalising body. "What is this remarkable magic I hear you can do?" Pansy said with her hands on her hips and a smirk on her face.
Play along, Draco, you started this.

Draco's heart skipped a beat.
Oh, she's bloody amazing!

"There is a great deal of impressive magic that I can perform," he told her confidently. It was he who was smirking now.
She has to ask me, I'm the Sorcerer of Slytherin after all!

"Then I demand you show me your most...amorous accomplishments!" she said in a haughty voice, as she ran her hand lightly down his torso.
He won't last long now.

"As you wish, my sorceress." Draco scooped her up and placed the giggling Pansy in the centre of the bed to begin his magic.

After a good deal of enjoyable banter and playful teasing, their passion strengthened until their bodies were intimately entwined.

"I love you, Draco," she whispered. "You really are the Sorcerer of Slytherin."

Draco grinned.
She makes me feel like that. He thought she looked like a goddess with her dark hair fanned out on the pale cream pillow. His strong arms held him above her, but he struggled to maintain control as he watched his lovely witch take in every detail of their love making. She was expressive, not in a noisy way, but he could read it in her wide green eyes. Then it dawned on him; he could sense her delight. They were connected, more than physically. The pendant? The Oath? Legilimency? This link was somehow guiding his intentions toward her pleasure.

Pansy was watching him carefully when his face reflected what she was already appreciating.
He knows! The tie that bound them together slowly intensified until she understood how desperately he wanted to delight her. I never knew how completely he loved me until right now.

He realised his emotions must be fully open to her, but he could easily tell from her feelings, he had no cause for concern.
I've absolutely won her over, he thought with satisfaction. She feels so emotional when I do this to her; I never would have guessed how much. As they continued their amazing encounter, he felt his fulfillment growing near, as well as the intense passion building within her.

Pansy had never before experienced any of the incredible sensations she was feeling. Her body was pulsating, and she felt like she was somewhere between the earth and the stars. She was also aware of his ecstasy and felt him trembling above her.

They were in perfect harmony.

"Pansy," he whispered, as they reached the ultimate sensation.

Pansy was a bit dazed. She didn't know the words for what she had just experienced at the end, but knew it was uncommonly delicious. He was astonished and wholly satisfied, that she knew for sure.

Draco rolled back against the pillows, breathless and absolutely exhausted, but blissful.
Merlin! He pulled her to him and drew the covers over them.

"I'm positive no one else has ever experienced anything quite like that," he whispered. "We are magic together."

"We were meant to be," she told him simply.
There can be no other explanation for it. Pansy fell asleep with her arm around his waist and her head on his chest, listening to the comforting beat of his heart as he stroked her hair.

~ The End of Chapter Four ~

Author notes: Author?s Notes

Betrothal : In Wizarding society, the betrothal is a magical rite resulting in a formal engagement contract to be married, usually officiated by the parents of the bride and groom or an elder Wizard. Selection of the bride was traditionally the duty of the wizard groom's family, with the bride having little or no input. In modern Wizarding society, however, a witch is able to decline any offer of marriage. Arranged marriages are less common, but not unheard of. Neither Pansy nor Dracro had a previous commitment. The betrothed wizard couple is expected to spend much time together, learning about each other.

Eadald & Cwen : Draco?s ancestral grandparents? names meaning old riches and queen, respectively.

The Pendant: The main stone is an emerald, which was brought from Egypt and then passed down in the Malfoy family. Emeralds, associated with the Goddess Venus, have many magical properties, especially for love. A betrothal oath ritual involving an emerald is the strongest bond for security of love, and especially if worn near the heart. Emeralds are said to aid perception and inner clarity, as well as memory, communication, intuition, intellect, and the ability to learn. An Emerald wearer is likely to find sufficient wealth, which Pansy certainly found with Draco.

The emerald is encircled with diamonds. In the late Middle Ages the diamond became the most valuable and expensive of all stones. Diamonds bring fierceness, strength, and fortitude, and offer protection from evil. The combination of emeralds and diamonds is rumoured to enhance sexual pleasure.

The pendant is attached to a platinum chain. Although Muggles didn?t have the capability to produce platinum until the 18th century, wizarding folk have been well versed in alchemy for much longer.
Pendants have been used since Antiquity, but it was during the Renaissance that jewelry was first used in the modern sense by embellishing the body itself, independently of dress. Draco likes the effect of the pendant against Pansy?s bare skin.
