How It Came To Be

"Meet me at the Three Broomsticks at 6:00 tomorrow night, okay?"

"Okay, but..." Before Molly could ask why, Arthur Weasley had turned around and walked out the door.

"You can do this, you can do this," Arthur chanted to himself quietly on his way down to the Three Broomsticks. He walked into the little shop and sat down at a table near the back. It was a wooden table that looked newly polished and he wanted Molly to have the best table. He then looked down at his muggle watch that he had enchanted to run off magic, not batteries. "5:00! I knew I came too early!" He hummed a happy little tune to himself for a few minutes and then got up to get a butterbeer. He sat back down and sipped it until it was all gone. Then he set it aside and read a book. Just then the bell on the door to the Three Broomsticks jingled and Arthur looked up. A young woman with fiery red hair had just walked in. She was wearing a scarlet colored dress with golden flowers on it. She was a plump witch, but she was beautiful all the same. She walked over to Arthur's table and sat down across from him. Arthur put down his book and looked at her beautiful face.

"Hello, Arthur. Sorry I came a little early, but I see you did too." Molly smiled. Her smile could brighten up a dark, damp, and lonely room.

"Hello, Molly. I'll go get us some drinks." He got up and brought back two butterbeers. Why am I doing this? He thought to himself. Once he did though, he felt like slapping himself. He knew why, he had always known why, he loved her, and that was never going to change. Molly picked up her glass and brought it slowly to her lips. She took a tiny sip and then set it down to look at Arthur.

"Why did you want me to meet you here tonight?" Molly asked him. Arthur looked at her. She was beautiful. She was the one. Right when their eyes met he knew it was time. He got off his wooden chair and slowly got down on one knee. Molly gasped. She felt like crying, but she wouldn't allow herself. It took all the effort in the world to stop herself.

"I know we haven't been dating that long, but it's been clear to me since the first time I saw you. I love you, and that's never going to change. I would love for you to be Mrs. Arthur Weasley. Will you marry me? I promise to make you the happiest woman alive, even without riches.

Molly burst into tears. She couldn't help herself. Molly Weasley, that sounds nice she thought. She looked into Arthur's eyes and she knew what her answer would be. She knew right then and there. She flung herself around Arthur's neck and whispered, "Yes, I will marry you." They looked at each other and smiled, and that is how it came to be.
