Chapter One

The lawns of Privet Drive shone linoleum green in the sunlight, and the wet grass of number four held no other on it than a messy-haired, thin and tall sixteen-year-old known of the name of Harry Potter.

His hands were behind his head, and his eyes were aimed at the endless sky. He wore a maroon sweatshirt and sweat laid across the bridge of his nose as the sun was sending its last rays. There was a scar on his forehead. A scar like no other.

A scar that was a result of a dark event that happened to Harry since he was one. A scar made by none other the most evil wizard of the magical community, and which in case you haven't noticed Harry Potter just happened to be a wizard.

A wizard starting his sixth studying year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But this summer was different than all the past ones. For several nights Harry had dreamed of the place in the Ministry of Magic known as the Department of Mysteries, and it was for a good reason, for Harry had paid it a visit about a month ago with five of his friends. That night still couldn't be erased from Harry's mind, the night his godfather got murdered by supporters of the same wizard who gave Harry his scar - Lord Voldemort.

The worst thing about this that Harry always blamed himself for his godfather's death, and always cried when he remembered this.

Away from the magic world Harry lived with one of the non-magic families who hated wizards most, those were the Dursleys.

Dudley Dursley was Harry's least favourite person after Voldemort and Draco Malfoy, a greedy, proud Hogwarts student. Dudley now was sixteen as Harry, but so much different, he had the looks of a fierce animal and the body of a young elephant. He usually spent his time with his usual gang, smoking or bullying people.

"Aren't you coming for dinner Harry?" rang Aunt Petunia's voice in his ears.

"I'm not hungry!" Harry replied back, as he heard the window shut on its track. The Dursleys didn't usually give Harry a recommended treat of a human, but this summer was different, and perhaps they were just too scared to make him angry.

At last, and as evening drew, Harry stood up, went to the front door and upstairs to his room. He locked the door, then sat in his desk as he took out a quill and a bit of parchment.

Ronald Weasley was Harry's fellow Hogwarts student and Harry's best friend as well.

Dear Ron,
How's everyone? Aren't you coming to fetch me up from here? I'm really sick of life this way. How are the other friends, and Hermione?
Just send back soon,
Harry

Harry took out Hedwig -his owl- out of her cage and placed her on his thumb, he clamped the letter to its legs then muttered, "This is for Ron, you know, the Burrow!" The owl's head nodded as if to say yes and he opened the window for her and let her go.

He watched her with widened eyes as it went out of sight.
