Memories

She stared at the photograph of her wedding day. Within a week she married Michael and became a widow. She lost him to Death Eaters.

She remembered how the two of them fought all the time. It had just been an act. She had loved him already back then, only she didn't knew that she did. He was constantly getting under her skin.

The fact that he had been her first lover didn't help much. Especially not considering that he had been dating her sister at the time.

She never planned it to happen, it just did. He never truly believed that she hadn't tricked him. How could he not see that he was just irresistible to her ever since they shared that first kiss late at night in the Ravenclaw Common Room.

It was only later that she understood why he was able to get under her skin. Yes, she did love him in a way and that was also why she married him in the middle of the war. She didn't know why he had married her, but for one week she had been happy.

Padma put the photograph back down. She looked at her dress. A weddingdress. Today she would marry the love of her life. Her daughter was her bridesmaid and her flowergirl, her future husband Michaels murderer.

He had been taking care of her ever since she found out that she was pregnant, he had looked after her daughter as if Cassie was his own.

Cassie simply adored him. To her he truly was her father. Padma would tell Cassie about Michael later. First she had to concentrate. Her sister was already waiting with her own husband.

Padma thought of how Parvati finally married Percy. Parvi had found her happiness when she let Trelawney's stupid prediction for what it was.

It all went very fast. For her thoughts she almost forgot what she was doing. As she walked to her soon-to-be-husband she remembered walking down the aisle to her late husband. It seemed so familiar.

Cassie was walking just in front of her throwing rose petals. Was she really dishonouring Michaels memory by marrying Blaise Zabini, like everyone else thought? She wasn't. She had promised Michael that she would love and cherish him until death would part them. And death did part them not even a week later.

She wasn't tarnishing Michaels memory. Nothing that Blaise did could make her forget how he killed Michael. It was only about allowing Blaise to make up for Michael's death. Everyone should have the chance to learn from their mistakes and try to make them right.

And yes, she thought she's never have Blaise. She loved him since they were at school. She remembered the concert they attended together, she remembered their first kiss.

For the second time in her life Padma said "I do" to a man she loved. Blaise said the two words for the first time. And when Blaise kissed her heaven and earth came together and Padma knew that Michael was okay with it all.
