Creeveys in Counselling

Chapter 3: An unexpected visit

"The Dursleys? Never heard of them," said Marlene Avery sweetly. "But please come in. Dinner is getting cold."

"Then you could tell exactly what those Dursleys have done to you," Jesse added.

"We will," said Mr. Mason. "And please call me Edward -- or Eddy. Everybody does."

Inside Thomas waited patiently. All he could think about was if Elly would get his letter in time. He probably sent Eliza out a bit late, but then again, it was growing darker. Then he saw Mr. and Mrs. Mason, their new neighbours.

"Hello Mr. Mason, Mrs Mason," Thomas said politely. And then he added: "Are you alright, Mrs. Mason?"

"I am now, please let me come around a bit," she said.

So Thomas showed her and Mr. Mason the way to the dining room. Where Marlene had already put their dinner on the table.

After a while Mrs. Mason started to relax.

"So. What have those Dursleys done to you, Mrs, Mason?" Marlene asked.

"You can say Theodora, dear. Well, it was about six years ago. My husbands tried to make a very profitable deal on some drills. Mr. Dursleys owns a company that manufactures them, you know. But all the time there was this wretched noise coming from the upstairs. Mr. Dursley said it was the cat, but it was indeed his deranged nephew. The nephew threw a cake to my head, and then there came this bird..." said Mrs. Mason.

"An owl, darling," said Edward.

"A BIRD! And I'm terribly afraid of all kinds of birds. All shapes and sizes. The stupid beast even had something clasped in his beak, what looked like a letter. Just like the one we saw earlier tonight."

"Mudbloods and Muggles," muttered Jesse. "Maybe my boss knows who they are. He knows more then me, and has more acquaintances."

Theodora Mason, turned to Thomas. "And boy, how are you?"

"My name is Thomas, and I'm fine. I've just posted a letter to my girlfriend," Thomas said happily.

Jesse and Marlene looked at each other with a scared look in their eyes. It's not everyday that your thirteen-year old tells you he has a girlfriend.

"Oh, that's lovely! What is her name?" asked Theodora.

"She called Eleanor, but I call her Elly. And she is the loveliest girl in the whole world!" Thomas answered truthfully.

"Thomas, please go to your room. Mummy and daddy have business to discuss with Mr. and Mrs. Mason."

So Thomas went to his room, wanting to know whether his letter had reached Eleanor already.

Suddenly a man appeared in Thomas' room. It certainly wasn't his father, as his father was still doing business with the Masons. It couldn't be Colin, Elly's brother, he hadn't learned to Apparate yet. Who was it.

The man stepped out of the shadows. The man had long grey hair and a matching beard. He wore dark purple robes with gold edging. Thomas found two magnificent blue eyes surveying him behind a pair of half-moon glasses. Albus Dumbledore has Apparated into Thomas' room.
