How Do You Choose Between What is Right and What is Easy?

Chapter 24

Draco was lying on Ginny's bed, sitting up and leaning against some pillows. Ginny was relaxing, leaning against his chest.

"Hmm..." Draco said, contemplating. "What do you think about... 'Angelina' for a girl?" he asked, placing his left hand or her belly.

"'Angelina'?" Ginny asked. "I like it, but maybe not for a first name. What about for a middle name?"

"I was kind of thinking of 'Andromeda' for a middle name, though."

"After your Aunt?"

"Yeah, the only decent one I have."

"Well, why not both?" Ginny asked. "There's no reason we can't use both, is there?"

"Hmm... I guess not." He was silent for a minute. "So... do you want 'Angelina' first, or 'Andromeda'?"

"Hmm... 'Angelina Andromeda'... Andromeda Angelina'.... I like 'Angelina Andromeda'. It just sounds... weird... somehow, the other way around."

"So what are you thinking about for a first name? Any ideas?" she asked.

"What about 'Alice'?"

"Not three 'A's in one name," Ginny said, "but we might have two girls, so we need to come up with two girl names and two boy names."

"Okay, so we already have the middle names for one girl name," Draco said smiling.

"'Alice' would be a good first name for the second girl name. And I like 'Minerva' for a middle name. What do you think?"

"'Minerva'?" Draco said, a look on his face.

"What, you don't like it?" Ginny asked, her forehead creased in question.

"No, no, it's okay. We can use it for a middle name. As long as we can use 'Wilhelmina', too." He smiled.

"Why 'Wilhelmina'?" Ginny asked.

"She was an old family friend. She was always really good to me."

"Oh, okay. That sounds good," Ginny said, smiling at him. "I like it. 'Alice Minerva Wilhelmina'."

"'Alice Minerva Wilhelmina'," Draco said, thinking. "I like it, too. Now we still have to think of another first name."

"What about 'Susan'?"

"No, no, no. Not Susan."

"How come?" Ginny asked.

"I dunno," Draco said. "I just don't really like it."

"Well then... what about 'Victoria'?"

"Now that's more like it. Victoria sounds perfect."

"So, we have 'Victoria Angelina Andromeda', and 'Alice Minerva Wilhelmina'."

"I like those a lot," Draco said.

"They sound really pretty, don't they?"

"They certainly do." Draco hugged her tightly to him. "Now, what about a boy name?"

"Two boy names, silly," Ginny said, giggling a little.

"You're right. Two boy names. So what do you think?"

"I've been thinking about boy names, actually."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I just have a feeling that they're boys."

"How come?"

Ginny shrugged. "Pregnant woman's intuition, I guess."

"So what did you come up with?"

"I've only come up with first names so far," Ginny said. She was silent for a moment.

"So... what are they?" Draco asked, impatience and curiosity heavy in his tone.

"I like 'Vincent' and 'Artemis'. What do you think?"

"'Vincent' and 'Artemis'?" I like those a lot. They're good, strong names."

"So, I came up with first names. What do you think about middle names?"

"I definitely want to use 'Kevin'," Draco said, almost immediately. "I've always like that name. And 'Andrew'. I like those names a lot."

"I like 'Kevin' and 'Andrew', too. Why don't we use those two names as middle names for 'Vincent'?"

"What, 'Vincent Kevin Andrew'?"

"Yeah! What do you think?"

"I like it. A lot. What about you?"

"It's perfect."

"What about the other name? What goes with 'Artemis'?"

"I want to use two of my brother's names."

"That's alright, I guess. But not 'Ron'."

Ginny's forehead creased in question. "Why not?"

Draco got an intense look on his face, like he was choosing his words very carefully. "It's not that he's a bad guy or anything. We've just butted heads too much over the years."

"Well, that's okay then. I've always been closest to Bill, next-closest to Fred."

"So let's use their names."

"Really? You wouldn't mind?"

"Of course not," Draco said. His forehead creased a little with worry. "Why would you think I'd care?"

"Well, it's just like you said - you've butted heads with all of my brothers a lot over the years, not just with Ron."

"Well, I did, but I can tell that it's important to you, so I have absolutely no problem with you wanting to use Bill and Fred's names. So what exactly do you want the name to be?"

"How about... 'Artemis Frederick Bilius'?"

"That sounds great, Sweetheart. That sounds absolutely great."

"It's also good because, while 'Bilius' is just a longer form of 'Bill'..." she paused for a moment, "... it's also Ron's middle name." She gave him a smug sort-of smile.
