The Human Phoenix: Introduction & Ch.1

About 160 years ago a Seer, Cassandra Vlatbasky, made a prophecy. The record in the Hall Of Prophecy reads thus - at the advent of the death of this year a boy will be born. A powerful one beyond all that wizardkind can comprehend. His birth will be marked by that of a flight of 12 phoenixes seen flying throughout the world.

True to it, at the start of December 1841 a boy was born to Percival and Celina Dumbledore. He was as ordinary a wizard as possible, but even at such a early age one sign remained that he would be extraordinary. The Flight of Phoenixes was seen and he came into this world with a single Phoenix feather held in his hand. He knew nothing of this until he was 10.

In the summer of 1851 a letter came to him from Hogwarts. All this too was normal. He boarded the Hogwarts express, and he refuses to speak about those seven years. All we know is that he was the top scorer and rivaled even some teachers in his magical prowess. He did spells impossible to a teenager as if he had been born with them etched in his mind. It is at the age of 20 that his adventures began and so we follow in the forthcoming chapters.

Chapter One: A Phoenix joins a Phoenix

---------------------------------------

Albus Dumbledore had grown into a sporting young man, a man most would have envied to be. He was clever, polite, kind and yes powerful, very powerful, but not greedy. Though he knew he was extraordinary he never talked about it. One day he and his friends decided to go to a picnic in the Hebrides. Invitations were sent out for the location and time of Apparation.

They had decided each to bring one food item.

That day Albus woke up and went to call his neighbour Nicolas. They had decided to go together. They Apparated to find most of their friends had already arrived and that the food had been set out. There were Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes and Mrs. Flamel's excellent Bat Stew to eat. A platter of Honeydukes sweets stood for dessert. Soon everyone was contented and sleepy. Some just fell and slept while others talked or played. Albus decided to go for a walk. He entered the woods a went at a steady clip. He did not feel scared as their was no creature here which could harm him. The area had been fenced of as a picnic spot 10 years ago. Suddenly a song burst forth. It pleased his very soul and gave him energy. He wanted to find out who was singing. The song seemed to come from the top of a willow some distance away. As he neared he saw a peacock type bird with bright red, orange and yellow feathers. It was a phoenix. It seemed as if it was waiting for him. As he neared he fluttered down right on Albus' shoulder. Though Albus had heard that phoenixes were very friendlly towards humans, he was taken aback. But, the phoenix seemed to want to come with him. And suddenly Dumbledore felt a tingle through his spine. Somebody spoke in his mind to take the phoenix as a pet. He decided to call him Fawkes.

Chapter Two: Fawkes

--------------------

Fawkes was as wondrous a bird as possible, as Albus learnt soon after. It had been just 2 days since he had been brought home and Fawkes was completely at ease with the surroundings.

When Albus first introduced him to Mrs. Dumbledore her eyes fell out in awe.

Some days later Albus went to Diagon Alley and bought Fawkes a nice mahogany perch. Fawkes also had surprises for Albus. Albus discovered that whenever Fawkes sang a wierd energy enveloped him and gave him strength. Fawkes could also disappear and reappear in another place instantaneously. He could also deliver messages faster and more geniunely than owls(He left a feather with the letter). Fawkes could carry immense loads and had been sighted with Dumbledore clinging to him. His tears had healing power.

Fawkes and Dumbledore soon became the best of friends and had a bond unlike any other. One by which they could almost read each other's thoughts. Two Phoenixes had become one.
