Chelsea sat in the dim light of the moon, leaning against the stone wall and looking out the window of the north tower waiting for her long time boyfriend, Harry Potter.
"It will be ok," she tried to convince herself. "It will all work out."
Her thoughts were interrupted by sounds of footsteps coming up the stairs. It was Harry.
"Hello love," he said. He leaned down and kissed the top of her blonde head. "So," he said, sitting down on the floor across from her. "What's going on?" he asked her, "what did you need to talk to me about?" He was holding a bottle of butterbeer, which he set down next to him on the floor.
She didn't know where to start. She bit her lip and remembered the last time they had met in this spot.
Chelsea sat in the north tower alone, crying softly to herself when she heard footsteps of someone coming up the stairs. She quickly wiped the tears from her face with the back of her hand, but it was no use.
"Chelsea?" Harry asked with concern when he saw her tear stained face. "Are you alright?"
She shook her head. She wanted to tell him everything that Draco had done to her but she couldn't. That would be proving him right. He'd warned her that Draco was no good and that he was dangerous.
He wrapped his arms around her. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked her.
She looked up at him. "You were right about him Harry. You warned me but I didn't listen and now..."
Harry's eyes widened. "What has he done to you?" he demanded.
The tears began to flow again. She was ashamed to tell him. She felt so weak and helpless and there was nothing she could do about it.
"Oh god," he said, pulling her closer to him, "did he hurt you?"
Chelsea pulled down the top of her shirt to reveal the bruises and hand marks on her shoulders he had left when he held her down. It was dark but Harry could see the injuries even in the dim moonlight.
"Oh no. Oh no," he repeated. Horror spread across his face. "Is there anything else?" By the marks Harry had guessed that there was much more to this story.
She couldn't bring herself to say what Draco had done to her but the look on her face told him it had been what he was imagining.
"He raped you didn't he?" Harry was furious. "I'll kill him," he said and he stroked Chelsea's hair gently.
She sobbed into his chest and they stayed there for most of the night.
Chelsea opened her mouth to tell Harry what she had set out to tell him. "Harry," she began. Her eyes welled with tears.
Harry's brow furrowed and he moved to her side of the hallway and put his arm around her shoulder, "What's wrong?"
"Harry, I'm pregnant," she whispered.
"What?" he said angrily. He moved his arm from her shoulder, "You can't be. We have to go to college and we have to..." Ruined plans spread through Harry's mind faster than he could say them.
"I know that Harry. I don't know what's going to happen," she was crying into her knees now and had her head buried in the arms.
Harry covered his face with his hands. "We should have been more careful," he muttered.
This made Chelsea cry harder.
Harry looked down at her. He couldn't bear to touch her as he remembered the night that he would now never forget.
Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Chelsea stumbled into the common room laughing. It was well past midnight and the four of them had snuck out to Hogsmeade to meet Fred and George and go to the new nightclub, The Jack-in-the-Box. Fred and George had given them all a small dose of ageing potion to make them old enough to get in. They all had had a wonderful time, even Hermione who had been greatly opposed to going, but they were all seriously drunk.
"Shhh!" Hermione yelled loudly. "We might wake someone up!" She laughed hysterically at the irony of what she had just done and then tripped over an ottoman on her way up to her dormitory.
Ron laughed and helped her up. "I've got an idea," he said. His words were badly slurred. "We can switch spots in the dormitories," he suggested to Chelsea.
Hermione hugged him around his neck and kissed him a little bit more feverishly than she normally would have.
"Please," Ron begged.
"All right," she said turning to Harry. "Is that all right with you?" she asked him half jokingly, as if he would protest.
He said nothing but pulled her closer to him and through laughing at absolutely nothing he kissed her hard.
She squealed with pleasure and then giggled.
"Goodnight then," said Ron and he ushered Hermione up to the boys' dormitory.
Harry and Chelsea were left alone.
"We should get to sleep," Chelsea told him. "We have school tomorrow."
"Yeah," said Harry. "Suppose we should."
The couple tried to walk up to the girls' dormitory stairs but the stairs sensed a man was climbing up them and immediately smoothed out, forming a slide and making it impossible to walk up.
Chelsea and Harry laughed uncontrollably as they struggled to walk up the slide and slid back down repeatedly.
Harry gave up and flopped down on the couch. Chelsea sat on his stomach facing him.
"I'm not that tired," said Chelsea.
Harry looked at her and smiled, "Neither am I."
She leaned down and kissed him.
He sat up and slipped his hands under her robes and shirt.
She fumbled with the button of his pants...
"It all seemed all right then," he thought. "We thought we were so clever because we didn't get caught. Well look at us now."
"Harry, what are we going to do?" Chelsea whimpered.
He looked up. "I dunno," he said. He looked down at her stomach. She didn't look pregnant. He swallowed, "How far along are you?"
She shrugged not knowing the exact date. "A month," she answered. "I only just realized," she said, "I told you as soon as I found out."
He nodded.
"So that means she was pregnant on that day we were planning our future," he clenched his fist in frustration. "Our future was ruined before we even dreamt it up."
They sat in the grass in the lawn together. Chelsea was positioned in his lap and Harry was thinking of how perfect everything was. He was with the girl that he loved, it was a beautiful day, and he was the most popular and most likely smartest guy in the entire school. Chelsea and Harry had both applied to the most prestigious Auror college on the planet and they had both been one of the very few to be accepted. They had got their letters that morning at breakfast and they had made a scene of shouting and jumping out of elation.
Their hands were interlocked together and the breeze tickled their faces gently.
"Chelsea, will you marry me?" he said randomly.
She didn't have to think for a second. "Of course," she said. He didn't have a ring and most people would laugh at them and say that they were too young but she knew that he was serious and that they would always be together.
Harry sighed in relief and hugged her tighter to his chest.
"We'll be famous Aurors together." She smiled at the thought of it. "And we'll get old together and maybe someday we'll have babies."
"And they'll be Aurors too," he predicted.
She nodded and turned to kiss him.
"I'll always love you," she murmured.
"I'll always love you too," he said back to her.
He watched her cry uncontrollably and remembered what he'd promised her that day. He promised he would love her forever and always. He pushed the hair out of her face and kissed her.
"It will be okay," he told her, though he didn't believe it himself. This was one thing he couldn't make better for her. They would have to deal with this and there was no magic spell to make it go away.
Chelsea looked up at him.
He gave her a weak smile that he had to use all of his strength to give.
"I'll be okay as long as you are," she said.
He took in his breath. "We're in this together." He picked her up into his arms and held her. He looked up at the stone walls. There were so many memories in them. He found it hard to believe that he had been so violently forced into adulthood and reality n less than a month.
