The battle rages, wizards are torn down, and I am forced to wait. Dumbledore waits with me, we wait for the time when the inconsequential part is over and the true powers face each other. Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, I wonder if they know that I'm considering betraying them all, just for you. I can feel my people dying, there was panic, bravery, courage, now the locator charm is empty, nothing. There is a lull in the battle, Voldemort steps up to the front and raises his fist. The Death Eaters freeze and retreat to behind their Lord, leaving their wounded. Dumbledore nods to me and we step forward. Voldemort's voice, loud and hissing, fills the battlefield drowning the screams of the wounded,

"I have had enough of this Dumbledore, come, let us see who will triumph."

I think Dumbledore replies in kind but I'm no longer listening. I see you now, long pale hair blowing in the wind, a slight smile on your perfect lips, standing on Voldemort's right. They say you killed your father to get that position. I don't doubt it. You catch my eye, smile, and I hear your voice inside my mind, whispering one word,

"Wait."

Wait for what? There will be nothing left after today. Dumbledore is speaking again and his voice booms, inspiring hope and loyalty to the end,

"This is the battle that will decide. There are two choices Dark or Light. And I choose Light."

Voldemort replies,

"And I Dark."

and thus the final battle begins.

You smile once again, take out your wand, and shout

"Avada Kedevra"

I tense, waiting for the last flash of green light. Voldemort stumbles and falls to the ground. Have you chosen the Light? But before I can fully grasp this you say it again,

"Avada Kedevra"

This time Dumbledore falls, I should have known that a Malfoy couldn't choose Light. In a way I am glad, it is enough that I am owned by the Light. There is chaos below, Death-eaters shouting at Draco, my people either in shock, or trying to take the Death-eaters with them. Then in that cold voice of yours you say one word.

"Stop."

Like they did for Voldemort, the Death-eaters freeze, your army. My people look toward me and I nod. And the final war ends. Then again there is never such a thing as a final war. You raise your left arm and shove your sleeve back, the Dark Mark glaring, as I watch the Mark writhes into the shape of a dragon.

"I choose the third choice. I choose freedom. Freedom for Light and Dark alike. I proclaim a new era, one measured not by birthright or purity of blood, but one measured by power. The canon shall be, harm none and do what you will."

Just like you to make up an entirely new choice. I sigh, you're gong to be insufferable. Stepping forward for my piece which will be decidedly less eloquent, I meet your eyes.

"I also choose freedom. Harm none and do what you will."
