Ginny Weasley:

1983 - 1999

The images flashed before Ginny. She struggled to gain focus, but it was like living in a strobe light. Memories of her family, her friends flickered in her head as she finally returned to some state of consciousness. She was lying in a light blue room with water reflections dancing about the walls. Recollection of the past set in and she remembered the act she had committed.

"Am I dead?" she thought with a stir. A wave of air rushed over her, as the room rippled and contorted into a more familiar surrounding. The Burrow's kitchen drew before her in all its homeliness and warm serenity. Suddenly, she saw her mother enter the room. At first a smile spread across Ginny's face, but then she saw the condition of her mother. She looked mundane and neurotic. The wreck that was her mother fell into a chair and began weeping uncontrollably; her red hair tumbling across her tear capped cheeks.

Ginny had never seen her mother this way before and it shocked her. She saw Ron enter the room as well, but she dared not move as this vision scared her. Ron had lost his usual light expressions and rage embodied his face. He looked so much older with looks of anguish plastered on to his skin. The tears falling from his eyes appeared to be squeezed violently.

"Why would she do it?" he choked. "Why would she leave us? This is all my fault." Ginny gasped at the recognition of what her brother had just uttered. She realized with dread that he was referring to her: her act of committing suicide. With that thought she jumped from her seat in the corner and ran to Ron. She extended her arms and dove for him, craving the loving contact of her brother. Instead, however, of feeling the body of her brother, she felt nothing at all. Once she opened her eyes the Borrow and her brother was gone, and the stream of flashes had reappeared.

She fell onto hard floor and opened her eyes to another familiar vision yet again. She was lying in the center of the great hall, the Hogwarts students all around her in their seats. She rose to her feet as quickly as possible and gazed around the great room. She looked to her right and saw Harry sitting there. His eyes were glassy with that same look of despair etched across his brow.

"Harry, what is going on?" But he just sat there staring at the teachers tables in the front of the hall. "Harry!" She reached out to touch his shoulder. Her hand went right through Harry and made her jump back in astonishment. Suddenly, she heard a door open as Dumbledore came to the center of the professor's tables.

"Students, we have had another tragedy occur here at Hogwarts. I am most aggrieved to inform you that Miss Ginny Weasley...is dead." A solitary tear fell down the old wizards face. "She took her own life. Let this be a lesson to you all that there is nothing in this world, no matter how upsetting, that can drive you to take your own life. For the only person who can commit that act, is you."

She watched Harry stand and run out of the room, Hermione following close behind. She looked over at Draco who wasn't sneering or giggling malevolently. He was just staring. His eyes where wide with alarm and his chin twitched. She turned to face Dumbledore who seemed to be staring right at her. He looked disappointed and seemed to be looking into her soul. Ginny turned and attempted to run, but once again the image disappeared and the flashes returned.

Ginny felt herself falling until she landed softly in wet cold mud. Her eyes were shut tight and it took her more energy than it normally did to open them. She picked her head up and looked around curiously. She saw luminous darkness and figures standing in the distance. Fearing that something was wrong, she jumped to her feet and started towards the bodies. The silhouettes of two figures standing and one on his knees startled her, but she continued to run. A voice pierced the atmosphere and she stopped hastily. A high raspy voice skidded through her earlobes and her fear grew as she slowed her pace.

"Oh God," she thought. "Please no!"

Clear as the distress deep inside her, she saw an older Harry crouching down on the ground with the dark lord, Voldemort looming over him; an older Draco at his side. A plethora of torn emotions illuminated Draco's face; but one dominated the others: a look of pure, unchanging guilt. Is this what Draco would become? Is this what will happen to Harry? A deep voice rang inside her ears and made her fall backwards onto the spongy earth.

"This is what happens when you choose not to choose: when you take the easy way out instead of facing your problems like a true Gryffindor. I know there is more too you Ginny. If you choose to end your life so soon, everyone will be effected, even Draco. If you choose to end your life so soon, you're not the person I thought you were." Dumbledore's tone was unaltered and unchanging.

"And who did you think I was?" Ginny asked.

"Someone with more depth than that," Ginny began bawling helplessly. "Your role is very crucial in the future of this world. All life is planned; a story written in time. After all this Ginny, what do you choose? Life or death?" Her tears stopped and she looked up into the sky. The rain fell delicately onto her cheeks.
