It was another hot summer day at the Burrow. Dumbledore, the school headmaster, had informed the Weasleys that Harry Potter could come to the Burrow the last week of summer, only under certain circumstances that is. Harry could not go anywhere until the time came to go to the Hogwarts express.

  Ron Weasley was sitting outside looking down at a piece of parchment in his hands. Hermione Granger had written him a letter informing him that she just got back from Viktor Krum’s home in Bulgaria. It was a rather touchy subject, Hermione and Viktor Krum. Ron had just sent Pig, his owl, to Hermione. He told her in his letter that he was happy she stayed at Viktor’s house but he quite frankly did not give a shit. He invited her to the Burrow any way, after all there was only three more weeks until school began and he loved her.

“Great, that is just wonderful,” Ron said sarcastically as he looked at Hermione’s letter. He kissed the letter imagining it was her. “ I love you so much but you just break my heart all the time, can’t you tell I love you?” It was a question Ron has been thinking about all summer. It was going to be their fifth year at Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry so he decided early on to make the best of it.

Unbeknownst to Ron his brother George was standing behind him as he expressed his feelings about Hermione..

“Oh look at that, fat head is in love! I knew that you loved her!” George fell to the ground and rolled around in hysterics. “You...snort...stupid git...we all know you love her!”

Ron was rapidly turning the color of an over ripe tomato. “George don’t you dare tell anyone! Not a soul you hear me.”

George stood up and preceded to brush himself off. “Fat head everyone knows you love her, I don’t need to tell anyone!”

“But George I don’t care, don’t tell anyone,” Ron was about to say something he would later regret. “ I’ll do anything. ANYTHING! I swear.”

“Well if you insist...”

“You damn well better believe I insist!”

George tapped his left forefinger to his head in fake thought. “Well then all you need to do is be our test bunny, Fred’s and mine that is.”

“Test bunny? Test bunny? What the fuck is a test bunny?”

“Every time Fred and I come up with a new invention you try it out first, simple enough, eh?”

Now a thing about the twins everyone knows is that they are jokers, the previous year their canary creams had been a hit. As soon as you ate one you sprouted feathers and then moulted rather fast. Ron took this into consideration.

“Fine, I’ll be you ‘test bunny’ though I am not sure I want to.”

“Oh little brother don’t worry, nothing can happen.” George then turned around and walked back to the burrow. As he left he laughed evilly.

Ron groaned and started to rub his head, he was in deep shit and he knew it. He could trust George not to tell anyone but now he had to risk his life to make sure not a soul knew about his feelings for Hermione. Why did it happen to him, this was all he needed.
