Book 1: James Potter and the Blood Medallion

Chapter 1

James Potter's bedroom looked much more clean than it had in the past few days. However, that may have been because his room was practically empty. The books that had been strewn all over the floor were now neatly packed in his trunk, along with his cauldron, his three sets of plain black work robes, his black pointed hat, and a black winter cloak with silver fastenings. James also had packed a telescope, a set of brass scales, and a set of crystal phials. One thing young James Potter had refused to pack in his trunk was his magic wand. He had been waiting to have one ever since he could remember. Mr. Olivander, the man who owned the wand store from which he had purchased his wand, had told him that his wand was a pliable, eleven-inch mahogany, and was excellent for transfiguration. Before purchasing his school supplies James had never been to London, let alone Diagon Alley. Therefore he found it so incredulous that you could find all the many things on his supplies list in a muggle city.

After looking around and making sure he hadn't forgotten to pack anything, he placed the cage of his beautiful brown eagle owl on the top of his trunk.

"Jimmy! Please come down and have some eggs and bacon before we leave for King's Cross!" screamed his mother from the kitchen downstairs.

"Coming mum!" shouted James "and I thought we had an agreement. I want you to call me James from now on!"

"Oh my apologies Jimmy, gosh I've done it again," his mother cried from downstairs. "I'll try to remember!"

James walked downstairs and quickly devoured the breakfast his mother had prepared for. The anticipation was almost unbearable. The thought of going to Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry made James Potter so excited he almost pushed his mum and dad out the door after finishing breakfast. The drive to King's Cross wasn't so long. He'd mostly sat in the back of the Potters' car gazing at his magic wand.

After arriving at the train station James's dad Karl carried James's trunk onto a cart and James and his mum accompanied him to platform nine and platform ten.

"Mum. Dad. Where's platform nine and three quarters?" James asked confused.

"You see the brick wall in between platform nine and ten?" asked James's mum.

"Yes," answered James.

"Well all you have to do is walk right into the wall," answered James's dad.

"We love you," said his mom, "Have a wonderful time."

James couldn't explain the fallowing event. One minute he had been strolling towards the barrier in between platform nine and ten, and the next minute he had been in a room with a humongous red train and many children his age and older. He saw that the children were beginning to board the train so he did as well. He found that there were no empty carriages. He decided to ask to share one. He found a carriage with a boy that looked his age with black hair and a menacing look.

"Anyone sitting here? Everywhere else is full," James asked politely.

"Nope," said the boy and then James sat down.

"So what's your name?" asked James.

"Sirius Black," replied the boy.

"I'm James Potter," James told him.

For most of the train ride Sirius and James talked about what they were excited about doing at Hogwarts.

"Do you want anything off the cart?" asked a smiling lady pushing a cart through the aisle way.

"Darn it," James said, "I forgot my money."

"If you had your money what would you buy?" asked the Sirius.

"I'm quite fond of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, and Chocolate Frogs," James told Sirius.

"We'll have ten of both," he told the lady.

"You don't have to," James told him.

"It's ok," he said and threw James a Chocolate Frog.

From that moment on James knew that he and Sirius would be friends. Later on furring the train ride another boy peered into our carriage.

"Hi. I just realized the person I was sharing a carriage with is a real git. Can I join you?" asked the boy. He had sandy brown hair and not the best quality robes. They were parched in many places, and looked too short.

"Yeah sure," replied Sirius.

"I'm Remus Lupin," he told us.

"I'm James Potter," James said.

"And I'm Sirius Black," said Sirius.

"So who was the git?" asked Sirius. "His name wouldn't happen to be Severus Snape, would it?"

"Oddly enough, it would," he said.

"I hate that bastard," said Sirius.

"Why?" James asked curiously.

"He struts around thinking he's the best because he's pureblood. He has no respect for anybody," he answered.

"I'll point him out for you later," said Remus.

"Want any Chocolate Frogs or Bertie Bott's?" James asked.

"No thanks," he replied.

"I think maybe we should put on our robes Sirius," James said.

James and Sirius then slipped on our school robes and joined Remus who was turning one of his cauldrons into a hat using a transfiguring spell.

"Wow you've already learned how to transfigure?" James asked shocked.

"Yeah there was not much to do in that carriage with Snape. I pulled out A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration," he told James and Sirius.

"You'll probably be ahead of us in transfiguration," I said.

For the rest of the train ride James, Sirius, and Remus talked about magic, Hogwarts, and girls. When they got off they saw a giant man ushering the first years into boats.

"Firs' years! Firs' years over here! C'mon fallow me-any more firs' years? No more that four to a boat," he said.

James, Sirius, and Remus boarded a boat with a short dumpy sort of fellow.

"Every one in?" asked the giant. "Right then-FORWARD!"

The fleet of boat moved by themselves towards the gigantic castle of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They arrived on shore in front of a large oak door. The giant man raised a giant fist and knocked three times on the castle door.
