The first thought Harry had this morning was of him. It was quickly washed away with the thought of returning to the Dursley's one last time. He turned his head slowly toward the window, still half asleep. Sunlight poured on his face, almost blinding him. He forced himself up and got dressed. The thought of having to go back to Privet Drive plagued him all morning.

"Harry. Harry! Hello?" Ron yelled, waving a hand in front of his face. Harry barely made an acknowledgement. "Are you alright? I've been calling you for five minutes and you haven't moved."

"Hmm? Oh, yeah. Just dreading going back," Harry said softly.

"Well, look at it this way. It's only five weeks before you can come to the Burrow."

Harry sighed. "I guess that helps..." Although, it doesn't, really, Harry thought.

Ron, Harry, and Hermione finished packing and went down to the Great Hall for breakfast. They sat down with Fred, George, and Ginny. "Harry, why the long face? It's summer holidays!" George exclaimed.

"He has to go back to his aunt and uncle," Hermione explained.

"Oh, right. Well, at least it's a nice day. Maybe we can run out and play a little Qudditch before the H.E. leaves," Fred said.

"Nah, I'm not in the mood," Harry sighed.

Just then Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle passed by their table. Draco said something meant to be taunting, but his tone was different and he gave Harry a look he couldn't decipher. Crabbe and Goyle laughed as normal, as if they didn't hear the change in his voice or realize the look he gave Harry.

"Give it a rest, Malfoy," Ron said, rolling his eyes.

Harry sat back, surprised. No one else seemed to notice, either. He looked at Draco, as if searching for an explanation, and for the first time, he noticed something. In those soft, soothing gray eyes of his, there was a sparkle. Why hadn't Harry ever seen this before?

10:00 came faster than it should have. All of Hogwarts' students were gathered around the Hogwarts Express, their luggage all inside the train. He looked up at the sky; still bright blue and sunny. How depressing. Harry looked over at the castle and a wave of emptiness washed over him. He liked being treated like an actual human being. The thought of how bad the past five summers had been depressed him further.

"Harry, we're getting worried about you. You were never this bad on the last day of school before..." Hermione said, her voice sounding slightly scared. He didn't respond. They got on the train and found an empty car.

"I'll be ok," he finally stated, trying to reassure the three worried faces staring back at him. "I just...need to be alone for a bit. I'll be back." He left the car in search of privacy. It was hard to find on a train full of students. Harry finally found a small, secluded area when he ran into Draco. He expected a random sly comment, but Draco said nothing. Crabbe and Goyle weren't with him either. He was alone, and looked almost vulnerable, a sight Harry has never seen before.

"Where's your minions?" Harry shot sarcastically.

Draco grabbed his wrist. "Don't leave. We can stay here and be alone." He took out his wand, muttered something and suddenly the entire room closed around them. No one could get in to disturb them.

"Malfoy, what are you doing? And why have you been acting so weird?"

Draco didn't answer. Frustrated and confused, Harry walked to the other side of the room. "Since you won't talk - therefore leaving me trapped in here - then just sit there in silence and leave me alone. I have things I need to think about."

It was a long time before either one said anything. Harry sat by the window lost in thought while Draco sat on the floor on the other side of the room, seemingly dazed out. Finally, Harry looked over at Draco. He got up, walked over to him, and squatted down next to him. "Are you going to tell me why you're acting so weird?" Harry asked.

Draco, broken out of his trance, looked over at Harry. He again didn't say a word, but as he looked directly in Harry's eyes, he didn't have to. Harry was consumed by the depths of Draco's eyes. Those immense pools of pain and loneliness held him captive and explained everything.

"What do you want from me?" Harry asked cautiously. The two sat there for a few minutes not moving. Then Draco leaned over and kissed Harry softly.

Harry pushed Draco off him and backed away. Draco turned and stared into nothingness again, as if expecting this reaction. Harry sat back and watched him for a little bit. It was as if he was seeing Draco for the first time. Harry's eyes roamed over his entire body - the messy blonde hair, the soft sad eyes, the pale, almost delicate skin.

He had a sudden overwhelming desire to touch that skin, to taste those light pink lips, to comfort those eyes and stare into them forever.  Without thinking, Harry crawled back over to Draco, took his face in his hands and kissed him deeply. A very surprised, but happily so, Draco started to kiss back. At that moment, the room grew dark and the two boys could hear rain against the window. Harry smiled at the sudden change in weather and continued kissing Draco.

As the boys roamed each others bodies, they shared a connection. They fulfilled their desire for each other, but also filled an emptiness they had felt, and eased each others pain, if only for a little while. They would forever share this moment, hidden in a train, killing each others loneliness, as the rain poured down for them.

An hour later or so, the boys lay next to each other, limbs intertwined. Outside, the rain had let up and let the sun stream in the window. Harry frowned at this.

"What's wrong?" Draco asked softly.

"The sun's out. I'm only happy when it rains." he replied, kissing Draco.
