October 30, 1997.

"Ginny, are you okay?"

"Ron. Go away. So what if Harry's going with Herm? I don't care!"

"But. . ."

"Go AWAY!" Ginny ran out of the Common Room and tore out of the Tower. She ran blindly, ignoring the hot tears streaming down her face. She was still running when she ran slap-bang into Draco Malfoy.

"Oh! I'm sorry. . . wait, it's you. Never mind, then."

"Aww, is the Littlest Weasel upset? Is something going wrong with perfect Potter?"

"Go away." She sighed.

"Hey! What did I ever do to you?"

"D'you want a list? Or can you just fuck off?"

"Are you okay, Weasley?"

"What d'you care?" Ginny ran off. Draco watched her go, with an odd expression in his eyes.

It's a little bit funny,

This feeling inside.

I'm not one of those who can,

Easily hide.

December 31, 1997.

"Twenty seconds, everybody!" Hermione shouted above the din in the Great Hall. Draco stood off by himself, watching a radiant Ginny dance with her brother Ron.

"Ten! Nine! Eight!" They all started to count, faculty and students alike. Draco pulled Ginny over to the side.

"Ginny?"

"Yes, Draco?"

"Five! Four! Three! Two!"

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"One!"

"Yes!"

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Draco pulled Ginny in for a long, slow kiss.

I don't have much money,

But boy if I did.

I'd buy a big house where

We both could live.

April 1, 1998.

"Ginny? Ginny! Virginia! WAKE UP!"

"Mph. . . don't wanna wake up. Hurts. Need . . . to. . .sleep."

"Ginny, what did you take? What did you do?" Draco picked up a vial of Muggle Sleeping Pills. It was almost empty. "Why are you doing this?" he screamed hysterically.

"Draco. . . it hurts. Help me!" She sobbed, tears staining his white shirt as Draco held her in his arms.

"What's going wrong, Ginny? Why?"

"It's just. . . mum and dad. . . I can't believe they're gone! I. . . I miss them so bad! I wish they were alive!"

"I know, Gin, I know."

"Oh... Draco, I love you."

"I love you too, Ginny."

If I were a sculptor,

But then again, no.

Or a man who makes Potions in a

Traveling show.

June 17, 1999.

"And now, our Head Boy of last year, Draco Malfoy, will say a few words to this year's Hogwarts Graduates." Draco stood up to the Podium, looking around the Quidditch Pitch. He caught sight of Ginny, sitting on the stage with the rest of her class, looking beautiful. She noticed his gaze and smiled, fiddling with the badge on her chest that proclaimed her Head Girl.

"Hello everybody. These few years have been a long, hard battle for all of us. But you, the graduates, have stuck together as a class, supporting and consoling one another when you needed it. A friend is the best thing that you can have in dark times like these. Treasure these friendships, because sometimes, a true friend is the only person that can pull you back from the brink of insanity. Remember this, please. All of you. Because you are what our world needs most. A group of intelligent young peoples with the loyalty and love for each other that will outlast anything. Congratulations." He sat down to the sounds of applause. He saw Ginny beaming at him.

I know it's not much,

But it's the best I can do.

My gift is my song and,

This one's for you.

September 14, 1999.

"Ginny! Where are you! No!"

"Draco? What's going on?"

"Oh. . . it was just a dream. You're safe! I was alone, and. . ." he shuddered, making the bed squeal.

"It's alright. You've always got me. Don't you worry. I'll always be with you."

"Really?"

"Really."

"I love you, Ginny. You know that."

"I love you too, Draco."

And you can tell everybody,

This is your song,

May be quite simple but,

Now that it's done.

"Ginny?"

"Yes, Draco?"

"Come outside with me for a minute?"

"There's only one more minute."

"I know, but it's important."

"Okay, sure." They walked out to the balcony of Malfoy Manor, the balcony that looked out over the still lake. Draco led Ginny to the rail of the balcony, and turned to face her.

"Ginny, we've been through a lot together. But you've always been there, always supporting me. I've never found anybody who means more to me. So I was wondering," he sank to one knee," will you marry me?"

"Draco! Of course I will!" She threw her arms around him, tears of joy and love streaming down her cheeks.

I hope you don't mind,

I hope you don't mind.

That I've put down in words,

How wonderful life is now you're in the world.

June 29, 2000.

"Do you, Draco Octavius Malfoy, take Virigina Rhiannon Weasley to be your lawfully wedded wife, till death do you part?"

"I do."

"And do you, Virigina Rhiannon Weasley, take Draco Octavius Malfoy to be your lawfully wedded husband, till death do you part?"

"I do."

"By the power vested in me by the Ministry of Magic, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride, but please try to keep it under a half hour." Dumbledore's eyes twinkled as he said the last sentence. Draco grinned up at him and picked Ginny up in his arms, kissing her for the first time as his wife.

I sat on the roof,

And I kicked off the moss,

Well a few of the verses,

They've got me quite cross.

November 24, 2000.

"Ginny?"

"Yes, dear?"

"I want you to close your eyes."

"Why?"

"Please?" he pleaded.

"Fine, they're shut." Draco took Ginny by the hand and led her down a flight of stairs. He opened a pair of doors and led Ginny through them.

"Okay, you can open them."

"SURPRISE! Happy birthday!" All of Ginny's friends popped out.

"Draco! Oh you dear, you did this for me?"

"Of course." She gave him a kiss.

"Thank you so much!"

But the sun's been quite kind,

While I wrote this song.

It's for people like you that

Keep it turned on.

December 31, 2000.

"Draco, I've been thinking, and. . ."

"What's the matter?"

"I want to start a family."

"I was just going to ask you that!"

"Happy New Year."

So excuse me forgetting,

But these things I do.

You see I'd forgotten

If they're green or they're blue.

May 18, 2001.

Ginny ran to the bathroom just as her lunch came up.

"Ginny, are you okay? Maybe you should see the Mediwizard."

"Nah, I don't need to."

"You've been throwing up for days!"

"Draco. . . I'm pregnant."

"You are? That's wonderful!" he picked her up and swirled her around. "When is the baby due?"

"Sometime in late December or early January, so I've heard."

Anyway, the thing is,

What I really mean.

Yours are the sweetest eyes,

I've ever seen.

December 31, 2001.

"Mrs. Malfoy, you've given birth to a beautiful baby girl."

"Did you hear that, Draco? We have a daughter."

"I heard. . . I love you so much, Gin."

"I love you too." They kissed, while Ginny held her new baby.

"I think we should call her. . . Marissa."

And you can tell everybody,

This is the song.

It may be quite simple but,

Now that it's done.

December 31, 2064.

"I want their graves to say, There was never a greater love than that which connected two opposites. They will always be remembered."

"That sounds beautiful, Marissa." Marissa Malfoy-Potter kissed her husband James.

"Let's bury them next to Harry and Hermione. Mum and Dad could be with them again. I know how much it they missed each other. I think that they'd like that."

"Me too."

I hope you don't mind,

I hope you don't mind,

That I've put down in words,

How wonderful life is now you're in the world.
