- Thaks to my beta Jenn you totally ROCK!! and to all you who are reading it haope ya like it!
31st October, thirty-six years ago, started it all. One All Hallows Eve where no one was safe and the lives of my father's parents were taken because of a stupid prophecy that could've been meant for two separate people. A pureblooded or a three-quarter blooded wizard. Him or another. But he, the arsehole, had to jump to conclusions. I hate him, I really do.
He wasn't a powerful wizard, he was a coward. He hid behind his minions, Death Eaters, or whatever the pathetic fools were called. They made his childhood a living hell and when he found out he was a wizard he was thrust into a world that thought he was something special and when He- the prick- came back they expected him to triumph again because of course because of his amazing act as a baby.
I've never called him dad to his face, only when I introduce him do I call him my father or dad etc. All he wants is to be known as Harry, just Harry, not as The-fucking-boy-who-lived-whose-parents-died-at-the-hands-of-a-total-and-complete-moron. His words not mine. But you know it's not so difficult to understand why he feels this way if you knew how bitter and twisted he was just before my eleventh birthday, when I received my letter to go to Hogwarts because (or so he said at the time) he was afraid for me. Not because I might get detention but because other students and teachers might hound me like he was because of who he is and how I came to exist.
Harry, my father (way formal I know but I don't even care very much) is, how can I put this nicely and not too blunt? Well, he and I have a lot in common you know we have the same type of hair Potter hair he calls it: black as night and when ever I want it to look good it just sticks up everywhere, we both play Quidditch as Seeker (I have always loved doing those Wronski Feints like I have a death wish or something but that's way off track I know), and I like the opposite and he likes the same sex so we both like men. So when ever we feel like it we go out we sit in a little café in either Diagon Alley or in Muggle London and pick out the best looking guys and basically people watch, it's like the best fun and we're more like friends during that outing then father and daughter.
Then one day he came home from work during the summer. I remember it well because I was writing heaps of letters to my friends because I had already done my homework during the first few weeks of holidays. He looked happier then I had ever seen him. He told me then that he had found someone and hoped that I wouldn't be too upset with him. Always the diplomat he was. I was so happy for him because I thought it was high time he got out there and started dating and finding someone other then me to occupy his time because I was away at school most of the year. He looked ecstatic as I said that. He also told me this one felt like a keeper and we laughed at the irony because like my dad he played Quidditch as a Seeker.
TWO YEARS LATER
"I now pronounce you partners for life."
Like Harry said, this felt like a keeper and he looked so happy like he was about to burst and his partner for life reflected that.
I guess you want to know who I got huh? And Harry? Well, my now-fiancée is named Andrew Granger-Weasley, and Harry, well his life-partner is Seamus Finnigan.
