- Author's Note:
- I hope you all like this. If you feel that it needs more of anything you can please tell me in your lovely reviews. Remember if you are an author (like me then you should know) that it gets REALLY annoying when you have about 300 reads but 2 reviews. Also I'd like to say thanks to my BETA reader who made this story possible. Thanks Jude!
July 31st
Harry's birthday is today. I feel sad that I can't see him on this lovely day but...oh well. Anyway I sent him a gift voucher for Quality Quidditch Supplies. It has about sixty-nine Galleons on it. I know he'll find some way to use it. I put a charm on it so that it will vibrate when it's a week from its expiration date. I decided to buy this diary because like Ginny has been telling me for about two years now that I needed one, a lot of stress seems to have decided to attack me. Besides, who was I supposed to consult about my secret crush on Harry?
I know eventually it'll probably get out, but hopefully that horrid time is very far from now. I know you can't talk but writing it in you is the next best thing. I know if you could talk you'd probably be asking me, "Well why don't you talk to Ginny?" But I can't talk to Ginny because Ginny well.... she says she's over Harry, but I know better. After all, am I or am I not her best friend?
Well, mum is calling me. And I think I know why...I forgot to defrost the meat for tonight's spaghetti.
Whoops.
After Dinner.
Yeah, I forgot to take it out. Mum gave me a long talk on how
I should be more responsible. Hey, it's not my fault! Who told me to
run to the store? By the time I got back (boy was that bus stuffy) it
went completely out of my head. We had chicken instead though, so it
was okay. I think I'm going to stop for the night and read a bit.
August 1st.
When I go back to school, I probably won't write in you everyday when
I'm back at Hogwarts, but now I'm home for the summer I probably will.
I don't really have anything to say though. Since it's Saturday Mum and Dad are home from dentist work and are now downstairs watching TV. I was but whatever they were watching was stupid so I came up here. Whenever I mention something about TV to Ron he looks so confused I feel sorry for him. Harry on the other hand doesn't.
That's one of those other things I like about Harry. We can talk about
Muggle stuff and he won't look so utterly confused that I get
frustrated.
We can talk and talk, and talk (and talk, and talk) about Muggle stuff and never have to ask the other person stupid questions like "What's a telephone?" Speaking of phones, I wonder if I could call Harry and tell his Aunt or Uncle whichever one answers that I was the Surrey Library and needed to talk to Harry or something. Harry gave me his phone number in our 2nd year. But Ron told me not to call. Yes I think that's what I'll do. Better than nothing. I hope they didn't change their number... Well here goes.
20 Minutes later.
The phone call was successful! His Aunt Petunia answered the phone.
"Hello? Petunia Dursley, speaking."
"Hello. Does Mr. Potter reside here?"
"Yes, who is speaking?" she asked, suddenly wary.
"This is Ruby Monroe, a librarian of the Surrey Library. May I speak to Mr. Potter?"
"Harry! Harry! Harry, get down here! Now!" she shrieked. I held the receiver away from my ear.
"Uh, Hello?"
"Harry! It's Hermione."
"Oh! Hermione! You nearly scared me to death. I had no clue who it was!"
I laughed.
"I take it your aunt is out of the room."
"Yeah, other wise I would have said something like, 'Oh! Yes. Ok, I'll return it in about 2 days.'"
"Well, at least I managed to make an excuse, not like Ron."
He burst out sniggering at the memory.
"Ron and my uncle were yelling at each other like they were at either ends of the Great Hall plus the Entrance Hall!"
"Did you get the birthday present I sent you?" I asked, when I finally stopped laughing.
"Course I did. Hedwig takes her jobs very seriously."
"And??"
"And.... what?"
"Uh, did you like it?"
"NO! I didn't like it!"
I nearly fell off the sofa.
"I didn't like it, but I definitely loved it!"
"Oh! Harry, you had me there for a second." I laughed, imagining the wicked look on his face. He cackled as well.
"Well, I'd better go. My aunt is coming and she'll probably get suspicious since people never talk this long to a librarian."
"Ok. My number is 678-223-2345. Call me when you get a chance, okay?"
"678-223-2345? Ok, got it. Bye!"
Yes, I called him. He has my number. Yes, he loved my present. Life can be so heavenly sometimes.
Author notes: Well? Let me know what you think. *gulp* Oh I'd rather not a 300 reads and 2 reviews fic here.
