Chapter 1:

This Is My Story:

Roxie:

Hi! My name's Roxanne Lestrange (I know, I know. I hate it too.), but please do me a favour and call me Roxie. I'm a medium. Yeah, that's right. I see dead people. Just like the kid off of The Sixth Sense. I'll call them ghosts, but they are actually nothing like Nearly-Headless Nick of the Bloody Baron. They're more like spirits. The souls of the deceased. But not only do I see them; I can touch them too. Crazy huh? Being a medium gives you a few problems though...

  1. If people catch you talking to the dead, to them it appears that you're talking to yourself. It's hard to make friends.

  2. You have sleepless nights... lots of sleepless nights. And,

  3. You also get bruises you cannot explain. Hey! Some ghosts just aren't friendly. I myself have had a few broken ribs because of angry spirits.

Another problem I decided not to put in that list (not all mediums may have this problem) is that a certain dark wizard wants me for this power. Yeah, that's right. Voldie wants me to be one of his own. Ahh! I've begged Mum (Bellatrix.) not to drag me down to the manor about a hundred times now. You couldn't even pay me to do this! A few reasons:

  1. I get along fine with Harry (he hasn't walked in on me talking to the deceased yet). I don't want to be the one who breaks this friendship.

  2. Voldemort's a wanker.

  3. I don't have the energy, and

  4. Who really wants to be pushed around like that? Oh yeah, my mum...

Oh damn! After all of this explaining I nearly forgot to describe myself! I just remembered that you can't actually see the people in the fanfic. Well, I'm 17, have deep blue eyes, shoulder-length, bleach blonde hair and a smartass attitude. One which I one day hope to use on poor, old Voldie. Then again, I better not. I'll probably get myself killed. Or at least crucioed around the block and back again...

How about we start my story from where I am now... cornered... by Death Eaters... and Volders. They finally caught up with me (about bloody time too). You guessed it! I'm pressed to a wall with another wall (made of Death Eaters) in a semi-circle around me, and Volders is standing a few feet away from me. Leave me alone you wanker! So I'm standing there, completely helpless on account of an Expelliarmus being aimed at me. And then Volders gets out his wand and points it at me! How unfair is that? In my books, 30 to 1 is not a fair count. Unless I'm the 30 and they're the 1.

"You're Roxanne, aren't you?" Voldemort just gives me the evil eye.

"Oh my God! It's Roxie! Why can't anyone get that right?" I say to myself.

"Good," says Voldie coolly. "That means I've got the right person."

"Well no duh... I'm a Lestrange! Bloody hell!" only I didn't say "bloody". I said something else. (This author is not inclined to say very bad swear words. And in my books, "bloody" isn't a swear word.)

"Watch the attitude, Roxanne-"

"It's Roxie!"

"Whatever. Just keep that attitude in check. It doesn't take very long for my patience to reach its limits. And right now, I'm losing it very quickly."

"Whatever you say-"

"Just get over here now!" he was clearly getting angry. Oh well.

"No."

"Excuse me?"

"I said, "no,"

"Your mother told me that you had manners."

"And what did my father say?" I grinned. I knew what the answer was gonna be.

"The exact opposite." Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

"I knew he'd say that! Go me!"

"Come, Roxanne."

"Give me three good reasons."

"I don't need to. Now, you either come quietly, or I stun you and make you come quietly." It wasn't until now that I noticed one of the Death Eaters tense up behind Voldemort. I guessed it was my mother. I stood my ground, remembering the advice my father (Rodolphus) had given me ages ago. Don't ever give up the fight. He was probably talking about Aurors, so I don't think it will help in this situation.

"Or, you could let me go, and we'll pretend this never happened."

Voldemort started laughing softly at me. "Believe me Roxanne-"

"It's Roxie."

"Sure. Whatever. As I was saying, I'm sorry I had to resort to this, but you give me no choice. Stupify!"

DAMN YOU!

Voldemort: As Roxanne fell to the ground, I sensed Bellatrix champing at the bit to stand next to her. I turned around and looked around the semi-circle of my followers.

"Bellatrix, you stay here with me. All the rest of you, go." There was a loud crack as the rest of my Death Eaters Disapperated. I turned to Bella.

"Why didn't you just bring her to me in the first place? She would have been easier to manipulate." If there was a time to be angry with Bellatrix, it was now.

"I tried My Lord, I really did... it's just that, every time I brought up the topic, she left home for a few days. I tried to bring her without telling her where we were going, but she doesn't trust me anymore." She looked up at me with pleading eyes.

"I'm not going to hurt her Bella, but I will if I have to. If I do, don't worry, I won't go any further than crucio." Bellatrix looked scared. "I need her powers Bella. It's not like I'm going to kill her."

Bellatrix hung her head. "I understand, My Lord."

"Good. Now go." She Disapperated, leaving me standing next to Roxanne. I pocketed my wand and grabbed Roxanne's arm. After looking around to make sure the coast was clear, I Disapperated.

Kingsley Shacklebolt:

"Poor kid... why didn't you let me give him a piece of my mind, Moody? She was in trouble!"

"Because there was nothing we could do, Kingsley. We couldn't take on Voldemort and 29 Death Eaters by ourselves. It would be foolish!"

We could have at least gotten her out of there! And there's Moody saying there was nothing we could do. We were under Moody's invisibility cloak, standing a few metres away from where the stunned Roxie had lain before Voldemort got away with her.

"Come on," Moody says. "We need to tell someone about this."

We Disapperate.
