I looked into his eyes and down mine fell. They were so intimidating. So beautiful. He looked down at what lay before him. His son, cursed dead. We exchanged nervous glances.

You did this? he spoke coldly, colder then anyone Id ever spoken to.

No, sir, I replied, breathing heavily. I dont know what did it. He gazed deeper.

Yes, you do, Potter. I turned away from his accusation. Perhaps, yes, I did have a clue. Dont you?

He was shoving it down my throat. I may have a hint, but there was no way to know. No clear way to tell. V-Voldemort, I suggested, somehow sure that the Dark Lord was the culprit.

And, tell me, Mr. Hero, why would you keep it concealed from me? He grinned menacingly at my suspicions.

Because, I suddenly felt a wave of courage run through me. You serve him, dont you? You worship the ground he kills on, am I correct? I spat at his pale complexion. How I wanted to smack that smirk clear from his face. Would it not be just wonderful to find that your godly figure murdered your only son, I gritted my teeth, your heir! We both glared down angrily at the lifeless body of Draco Malfoy.

He eyed my fury-reddened face just before leaning down to lift my arch nemesis from the cold, stone floor. I studied the motionless, milky white face of his as he was rested in the arms of his father. I somehow felt a scrape of sorrow for him. Take my wand, Potter, he ordered. He flung the long walking stick at my battered body. Make yourself useful, he sent his head upward, nose in the sky. Wand? I thought it was a cane he used at old age! Silly me.

Carrying the cane and wand and beater and whatever else it might have been, I walked along side him, dragging my feet across the surface of the ground. We were trapped just outside of Hogwarts, my school, in an all-magic town called Hogsmeade. No one dared enter it for fear of death by the Dark Lord. Not even the employees at the few shops there were. I looked down at the wand, with its platinum serpent head over the tip. My ebony hair fell into my eyes, blocking vision of all I could see. The snake on Luciuss wand shared some common characteristics with his entire family. They appeared slimy and greedy; a symbol of hatred by all humankind, and their eyes can pierce you. Sever you. Blind you forever.

We spoke only in bitter hate and only so often. Evil stared hit the side of my face, but I did not look at the white-blonde haired mans face. I cannot be intimidated by such fate that this should happen. Such fate that only I could see. I was meant to happen, to make me see. Just a beauty is outside, evil is, too. Was there something there I couldnt find by first glance? Was there more than just a sinister face set against the darkened sky of hatred? Was I only imagining, or was this reality? My nightmares run loose, but I stay contained as I watch the world fade away behind his figure. His silver eyes stab me and I turn away, ending whatever pain has sent upon me.

I may be able to avoid emotion, but I cannot avoid feeling, and I never wouldve liked to admit what I feel. It would send a stroke of icy hurt down anyones spine to hear me mutter the words, the question I want to ask. Was I in love with Draco? Am I in love with Lucius? Perhaps I was meant to be in Slytherin after all. Perhaps I was meant to one day hold a cane of jet black, decorated only with a symbol of the master I should worship. This scar upon my face, he gave it to me. Maybe I was meant to one day rise above him and give it back. Being regarded as the strongest young wizard of my time is only the beginningbeing the most powerful of all time is what a true man would desire.

Im not brave, Im dark. I lead a lonely life with only few companions. One day they will be followers. One day I shall punish them as Voldemort punished my father. Soon I will recognize all my power, and gain respect for all the disrespect endured.

Or perhaps it was only what I saw in his eyes. His life story, not mine. Harry Potter is a Gryffindor, not a Slytherin. But then, of course, there were not strong ties between the two men. Godric Gryffindor held plenty of hate in his hands, covered up by so-called bravery and strength. Salazar Slytherin created a chamber of his own, the Chamber of Secrets. I once visited the place his followers erected and I met an old rival there. Tom Marvolo Riddle. Lord Voldemort. They were one in the same. The man behind my lightening bolt mark told me something I had been harping on in my mind ever since that day. The day I almost lost my life.

"There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it"

It was always in the back of my mind, no matter what. I glanced across Lucius Malfoys face, deciding his thoughts. He felt empty. He was incomplete. There were no more Malfoys to carry on the bloodline. I sighed pleasingly and watched my feet step one in front of the other.

Id made my first kill.
