- Author's Note:
- I've had this chapter on FA before but removed the entire fic. The rest of it is quite different from the previous version. I hope you like it.
Draco Malfoy was in his room lying on his bed. He had no thoughts. He had become as nothing for a time. He liked himself best when he was nothing. He had nothing in his head or going on around him. Yes, that was best.
Graffiti decorations
Underneath a sky of dust
It was his last day at home before he had to go back to school. At the moment he hated school. Most people hated him back for the actions his father had done. Draco's therapist often told him the reason he felt he had to pick on people, such as Harry Potter, was because he was angry at his father. Yes, Draco often bragged about Lucius but there was no pride there. Draco hated his father in the same way most of the rest of wizarding world did and for the same reason. He was a Death Eater. He enjoyed killing.
A constant wave of tension
On top of broken trust
To Draco death was not as light a thing as the Death Eaters thought. He had been ignorant and proud of his cowardly father. He had even threatened Harry Potter and his friends. He didn't think that way anymore. He hadn't since Lucius took him along on festive muggle killing on Mid-summer. He had hated it. He had had to watch people scream and beg for mercy. He had had to watch his own father sneer and kill them sooner. He hated now. He hated it all. He swore he would never be like his father. He would never kill anyone.
The lessons that you taught me
I learned were never true.
He would have to go back to school tomorrow. There he was hated. Since Lucius had been sent to Azkaban and escaped not a week later, Draco's popularity had diminished. He couldn't be friends with Crabbe and Goyle anymore. They too enjoyed the death. He hated them for it. He had no one. He was alone.
Now I find myself in question
They point the finger at me again
Yet he wondered what would it be like if the Dark Lord had never come to power? Yes, that was the question that went through many people's minds. What would it be like? Would he be rich, popular, and happy? Probably. There was really nothing he could do about it. He hated that too.
Guilty by association
You point the finger me again.
He was a person everyone thought was someone else. He wanted nothing to do with that someone else. He was not the person that hated good. He did not love death so why did everyone think that? He used to. He used to think that everything in his life was fine and he had no problems. How wrong he was. He was not what everyone, including himself once thought he was.
I want to run away
Never say goodbye
I want to know the truth
Instead of wondering why
He heard his father come in downstairs. Draco didn't care. He never cared. He didn't want to see his father. He wanted to run away and never come back. He couldn't. He could never work up the courage to leave his home. Besides he had nowhere to go. He had no friends.
I want to know the answers
No more lies
I want to shut the door
And open up my mind
Gonna run away
Author notes: REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW!! I won't mind suggestions for future chapters at all, actually I quite encourage them.
As far as I know the next chapter goes thus: Draco decides to leave his father's manor but ends up beaten and confused.
