Draco's Kisses
Kiana Grulke
Hermione had never been so pissed off in her life. Not only had Draco Malfoy written something horrible on the homework she had left in DADA, (she had left the homework there by mistake) he also spilled some of his ink on the parchment so that she couldn't even see which problem she had gotten wrong!
"Ooo if only the Unforgivable curses were forgivable!" Hermione thought to her self as she stomped down the steps towards the Great Hall determined to find Draco and give him a piece of her mind. She hadn't even really read what that damn ferret had written on her homework...she just knew that Harry had caught Draco with the parchment and given it to back to her. Draco's ink had already spread through out both sides of the parchment - so it was even impossible to see what he had written.....but Hermione knew it must be something awful!
When Hermione had entered the Great Hall she searched angrily for the stark blond hair at the Slytherin table. Much to her dismay she couldn't find him anywhere.
"Well I will just have to look somewhere else then. I demand an explication for this!" Hermione said quietly to herself as robes swished quickly around her as she turned around. Hermione wasn't exactly sure where Draco was (otherwise he would already be in a lot of pain right now) but she had a good idea. As Hermione walked quickly to the Quidditch field she began to think what Draco could have possibly written on her homework. Surely he figured that she would receive it back (when she realized that she was missing the piece of parchment she was going through a frantic search of Gryffindor Tower, when Harry returned it to her).
Strangely, Hermione had almost felt Draco's piercing grey eyes staring at her during classes that they had together lately. Yet when Hermione looked up from her book, he would quickly look away. In fact recently Hermione had noticed the blond hair, the grey eyes, and the well toned body that every other girl in the seventh year was talking about.
"What in the hell am I thinking?!? This is Draco we are talking about! He will never change...he will always be a ferret in my eyes!" Hermione tried to convince herself as she finally spotted Draco flying alone on the Quidditch field.
Hermione started stomping toward Draco, the ruined parchment clenched in her hand. Draco spotted her and very slowly came down from where he was flying.
As Hermione came nearer she once again noticed the blond hair...those piercing eyes...
"Bloody hell! I came here to yell at him...not drool over him!!" Hermione said to herself angrily as Draco got off his broom and came toward her.
"What can I help you with, Granger?" Draco asked quietly.
"Is he actually being polite??" Hermione was shocked. Coming back to reality she remembered why she was there.
"Yeah, Malfoy. You can help me understand why in the hell you ruined my homework by writing things on it and spilling your ink all over it! Look! I can't see which question ....I...." Hermione had a hard time finishing her sentence because Draco had suddenly gotten very close to her...so close in fact that she could see his grey eyes twinkling back at her. She could smell his scent...and for some reason her lips started aching to touch his...
"Did you read what I had written?" Draco asked playfully as he gazed into her brown eyes.
"What?..No!...I ...well by the time Harry gave it to me...the ink had ruined the whole parchment and I couldn't read what you had written on ...it" Hermione stumbled over her own words as she tried to steady herself against Draco's deep gaze.
"I see," Draco's eyes began to twinkle again. "Well, had Potter not interrupted what I was doing...you would have seen these words on your homework." Draco quietly took his wand out of his robes and made the words.
"WILL YOU GO TO THE VALENTINE'S DAY DANCE WITH ME?"
Hermione stood there in complete shock no knowing what to do, when all of the sudden Draco concocted a beautiful red rose with his wand.
"I wasn't sure how to ask you. I figured that you probably wouldn't want to go with me...but I though that if I wrote the question on your homework and then gave it to you...that you might just might say yes." Draco whispered as he handed the rose to the still shocked Hermione.
"Are you craz.." Hermione started to say as a warm mouth suddenly met hers. Hermione's eyes abruptly got bigger as she started into the eyes of the man who was kissing her. She closed them and began to enjoy the warm kiss..it wasn't her first kiss but it was a damn good one. Unfortunately Draco pulled away far too soon for Hermione's liking.
"I take it that you were going to ask if I was crazy for asking you. So that means the answer is no, then?" Draco looked at her sadly and started to step back away from her.
"No! I was going to say that you are crazy for thinking that I would say no....I know that we haven't gotten along for... well, alright, seven years... and there have been times when you have been a complete git...but I think that we both have grown up some these past seven years. Yes, Draco Malfoy...I will go to the Valentine's Day dance with you." Hermione said quietly.
Draco's eyes light up with happiness. "Perhaps we should try to get to know each other from the beginning..." Draco took Hermione's hand and placed it into his warm one. For the rest of the evening Draco and Hermione strolled around the lake getting to know each other better.
That night as Hermione lay in her bed she thought about the things that she and Draco had talked about... and she thought about how her lips were once again aching for one of his kisses....
The End
