The Veelas Epilogue

Hermione sat in her office, staring out the window waiting for her next witness to question to come in.

As Hermione sat there, she began to think about her sixth year in Hogwarts. Her sixth year was definitely her most exciting one. There were a few minor things that happened then, such as Ginny beginning to date and the incident with Ron accidentally burning half his hair off.

But there was one main thing that Hermione couldn't get off her mind. Draco Malfoy. They had come so close to becoming an "item" that year, but then, before either of them knew it, they both saw each other less and less until they never saw each other at all.

Draco had left in the middle of the year, and the rumor was that his father had pulled him out of Hogwarts to begin his Death Eater training. But eventually the talk of him stopped, and the students began to buzz about someone else. From what I learned from Ginny, he left school and became a Death Eater. For a while, when he was still at Hogwarts, I thought he had changed, but I guess for once I was wrong.

"Miss Granger?" The voice of my secretary, Gloria, tore me away from my thoughts.

"Yes?"

"He's here."

"Send him in." I reached into my desk drawer and pulled out my Quick Quill Notes. I hated to use them, they reminded me of Rita Skeeter, but my hand was cramped from writing about everyone before.

I heard the door open and the witness sit down as I messed with the notes.

Without looking up, I asked the question I had been asking all day long,

"What do you know about the death of Amos Diggory?"

"Hermione Granger?" the voice breathed in amazement. I looked up from my Quick Quill Notes, and my eyes met the ones of Draco Malfoy.

My Quick Quill Notes fell out my hand and landed with a loud crash on the floor.

"What are you doing here? You were a witness of the death of Amos Diggory?"

It's like a dream although I'm asleep. I'm never one to wake up. Don't loss it. Don't need it.

"Yes," he cracked his knuckles out of habit. "I am. I just didn't know that you were the one who would be questioning me."

"I just thought I'd never see you here, I mean being who you are and all."

Draco's eyebrows furrowed.

"And who I am exactly?"

"Okay, look I don't know who you are myself. It's just that you are..." She tried to find the right choice of words.

"Well, who am I?"

Suddenly, Hermione felt the anger that she felt in her sixth year. The thoughts of what she and Draco had done, and then he just left without a good bye. Never wrote her, never talked to her again.

"People change a lot." Draco had a confused expression on his face.

"Excuse me?"

"In Hogwarts you were a snobbish, annoying, stuck up bastard, and then in our sixth year, you became tolerable. But, now here you are again, an utter bastard."

Hermione finished, her cheeks flushing with rage that had been held back for years. She expected Draco to yell back, to hit her, or something of that sort, but she did not expect what he did do.

He laughed.

I cannot lie, from you I cannot hide.

"What is so funny?" Hermione asked in a shrilly voice, now upset that he found her anger laughable.

"It's just that," he broke off into a short fit of laughter. Hermione stared at him, confused. She had never really seen him just throw back his head and laugh. It was usually a sneer or a smirk, not a real laugh.

"You haven't changed a bit!" he finally managed to say, still slightly chuckling to himself.

Seeing him like that brought back the memories of her sixth year even more. He begins another laughing fit, and this time Hermione couldn't help but join him.

She had no idea if they would get together, or if they would hate each other with passion. But, to tell the truth, Hermione was satisfied not knowing what was going to happen. It made the ride there much more enjoyable. And she couldn't wait for that ride to start.

If there is not tomorrow, and all we have is here right now. I'm happy just to have you. You're all the love I need somehow.

~End~

A/N I changed my mind, I decided just to end with the epilogue now. If you didn't know, this is like a few years in the future for Hermione and Draco. There might be a sequel to this, but I seriously doubt that there will be one. I want to thank everyone for all the reviews through out this entire story, and please review this part. Hermione and Draco might be out of character a bit, but this is my fic and I'll make them how I want to! Plus, I am blaming it that they matured! Thanks again!!! THE END!

Oh yeah, I have a chapter that could of gone after The Veelas 05 as part of the dream, should I post it here? If not, I can just e-mail it to you guys who want to read it!
