It's All Coming Back to Me Now

There were nights when the wind was so cold

That my body froze in bed

If I just listened to it

Right outside the window

There were days when the sun was so cruel

That all the tears turned to dust

And I just knew my eyes were

Drying up forever

Hermione walked quickly down the dark alley towards her flat, clutching her thin coat to her small body. It was so cold and windy and dark out that she could barely make out the street lamps, let alone try to walk up to them. There was another reason why she was on her way home so quickly, though. This night is too damn familiar...she thought.

I finished crying in the instant that you left

And I can't remember where or when or how

And I banished every memory you and I had ever made

The night was just like the night it had ended. Exactly the same. The night that Harry had walked out in a fit of anger and Hermione had sadly packed up her things, and Apparated out. That had been a little over eight months ago, and they hadn't spoken to each other since. Tears pricked behind Hermione's eyelids. She didn't want to admit it...but she missed him. But she had tried so hard, and had actually managed to repress any memory that Harry and her had ever had. She had made herself forget the taste of his lips, and what it had felt like when they had made love. She couldn't remember what it had felt like to drown in his emerald eyes, full of love. She made herself not remember... so she thought.

But when you touch me like this

And you hold me like that

I just have to admit

That it's all coming back to me

When I touch you like this

And I hold you like that

It's so hard to believe but

It's all coming back to me

(It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now)

Hermione felt her spirit lift a little when she approached the building where her flat was, the lights from the windows shining through the dark, like a haven. She practically jogged up the three floors to her flat, imagining a hot cup of cocoa, and having herself a good cry. But fate had other plans for her. When she neared the door to her flat, a form was huddled next to it, which looked vaguely familiar. It lifted its head, and Hermione drew in a sharp breath. Staring helplessly at her was a pair of emerald eyes. The form stood up and walked up to her, brushing raven hair out of his wide eyes.

"Hermione?" Harry asked incredulously, reaching up to run a finger down her cheek. "Is it really you? I haven't seen you for the longest time. I-I've missed you so much." With that said, he grabbed her, and crushed her to his chest. A gate in Hermione's heart was suddenly lifted. Memories of every kind came flooding back to her. Them making love the first time... his teasing kisses.... the first time he had said those famous three words to her.... Tears began to fall down her cheeks, as she clutched him and hugged him back with equal strength.

There were moments of gold

And there were flashes of light

There were things I'd never do again

But then they'd always seemed right

There were nights of endless pleasure

It was more than any laws allow

Baby Baby

She could suddenly remember every night the two of them had ever had together. The sensations.... how the kisses had tasted. She felt a tremble course through her body. I don't want to leave him ever again, Hermione's mind whispered. How have I survived without this? She had felt so lonely.... now she felt whole again.

"Oh, Harry." She whispered through her tears. "I'm sorry...so sorry."

"Shhh..." he answered, rocking her a little. He pulled back a little from their embrace to stare into her eyes, eyes that he had been longing to see. It wasn't until tonight he had had the courage to go to her flat. How he had missed her. He couldn't even tell you now what their fight had been about. It was over something stupid, he thought. All that matters now is that I'm here again.

If I kiss you like this

And if you whisper like that

It was lost long ago

But it's all coming back to me

If you want me like this

And if you need me like that

It was dead long ago

But it's all coming back to me

It's so hard to resist

And it's all coming back to me

I can barely recall

But it's all coming back to me now

But it's all coming back

"But," Hermione said again, stopping when she looked up into Harry's face. The look in his eyes was still there. He still loved her. She felt a small explosion in her stomach, similar to the one she had experienced when he had first kissed her. Letting all their former memories together overtake her, she stood up on her toes, and gently pressed her lips against his, allowing them to feel again what it felt like to rest on his. She could feel a wetness on his cheeks, and realized with a shock that he....he was crying. She pulled back a little bit from the kiss, to look up into his face, glazed from her tears, now mingling with his own.

"I love you, Hermione," Harry said in an almost inaudible whisper. "You'll never know how much." He sealed his lips over her again, softly, slowly adding pressure.

Hermione fumbled with her house keys, and managed to open the door to her flat, and Harry led her into the living room, his lips never leaving hers, coats being abandoned in the process.

There were those empty threats and hollow lies

And whenever you tried to hurt me

I just hurt you even worse

And so much deeper

There were hours that just went on for days

When alone at last we'd count up all the chances

That were lost to us forever

Even though in those moments, Hermione was at her happiest, she could still remember that awful fight. He had said some hurtful things, and she had countered with things she knew had stung. They might had even hurt him deeper then she thought. Could he ever forgive her?

But you were history with the slamming of the door

And I made myself so strong again somehow

And I never wasted any of my time on you since then

And then when Hermione had heard the slamming of the door.... The echoing silence that had followed....she just had to leave. She couldn't bear the silence, which was loud, announcing the fact that he had left. And she had worked hard to become strong again.

But if I touch you like this

And if you kiss me like that

It was so long ago

But it's all coming back to me

If you touch me like this

And if I kiss you like that

It was gone with the wind

But it's all coming back to me

(It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now)

But for some reason, all that didn't matter now. Harry quickly found his way through the flat, slowly leading Hermione to what she assumed was her bedroom. She couldn't think straight at the moment to tell if they were going in the right room.

There were moments of gold

And there were flashes of light

There were things we'd never do again

But then they'd always seemed right

There were nights of endless pleasure

It was more than all your laws allow

Baby, Baby, Baby

When you touch me like this

And when you hold me like that

It was gone with the wind

But it's all coming back to me

When you see me like this

And when I see you like that

Then we see what we want to see

All coming back to me

The flesh and the fantasies

All coming back to me

I can barely recall

But it's all coming back to me now

If you forgive me all this

If I forgive you all that

We forgive and forget

And it's all coming back to me

When you see me like this

And when I see you like that

We see just what we want to see

Al coming back to me

The flesh and the fantasies

All coming back to me

I can barely recall but it's all coming back to me now

They finally reached the bed, when Harry suddenly pulled away, anguish clouding his green eyes. He cupped her cheeks in his hands, and looked her straight in the eye.

"Can you forgive me Hermione?" He asked, his voice choking with undisguised sorrow. "Can we forgive and forget and try to go back to normal? Do you really want this-," he said, gesturing to the bed. He voice then went hoarse. "And me?" He whispered, the lonely little boy in him, that had not known love, making a small appearance.

Hermione stayed silent for a minute, her eyes moving to concentrate on the floor. Did she really want this? She smiled a little knowing her answer. She removed his hands from her cheeks and to the first button on her blouse. Her eyes never moving from his, she guided his hands to unbutton the first button on her blouse, and then pressed them to her heart.

Harry looked from her face, to the button, then to his hands resting on her chest, to her face again.

"My heart kept beating without you here," she said. "But there was no life in it, no memories. The instant you touched me, they came back. Let's try to recreate them, and start over again." She smiled and moved his hands again to the buttons on her blouse. "Please."

Harry smiled a little, and then captured her lips again, moving his to unbutton the last few buttons.....

They had been apart. Memories torn apart. But they were all coming back now.

(It's all coming back to me now)

And when you kiss me like this

(It's all coming back to me now)

And when I touch you like that

(It's all coming back to me now)

If you do it like this

(It's all coming back to me now)

And if we ...

And if we ...
