Guiding Lumos
Episode Two
Previously on Guiding Lumos:
Our heroin, Wendelin Weasley found herself in a sticky situation, caught between two boys, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. She made it through the end of term dance, only to find herself partnered now with Terry Boot, a lovable Ravenclaw. The two hit it off and have become an item around Hogwarts.
This week on Guiding Lumos:
Wendelin and Terry face some problems.
It was the last Hogsmeade weekend and a beautiful day. Wendelin and Terry made their way down to the village, hand in hand. They visited a few of the stores, amusing themselves with the interesting items in the wizarding shops. Everything was going fine until Wendelin bumped into someone in The Three Broomsticks.
"Dad?" she said.
"Oh! Hello, Wendelin. Hogsmeade weekend, is it?" her father said cheerfully.
Terry stood behind Wendelin, looking nervous, but she pulled him forward and said, "Oh, Dad, this is my boyfriend, Terry. Terry, this is my father."
Terry shook hands with Wendelin's father, sheepishly.
"Hello! Wendelin's father, but you can call me Jonathan," said Mr. Weasley.
"Thank you, sir-err, Jonathan. I'm Terry, Terry Boot," he said.
Wendelin's father looked a bit shocked, then said, "Excuse for a moment, Terry," and pulled Wendelin aside.
"Yes, Dad?" Wendelin asked, confusedly.
"I forbid you to go out with Terry, or any other Boot," he said, sternly.
Wendelin stared for a minute, then blurted out, "Why not?"
"Now, this may sound stupid, but it's because I didn't like his father."
"Why not?" Wendelin asked again.
"Never you mind," said her father.
"But-"
"No 'buts'," said Mr. Weasley, shortly. "Now, get back to school, and tell that boy that you can't see him anymore."
Wendelin returned to Terry, extremely upset. They started walking back to Hogwarts, when Terry asked what was wrong.
"It'd nothing...It's just...I can't go out with you anymore, Terry," Wendelin replied a bit too fast, tears welling up in her eyes.
Terry looked confused.
"Wendelin...Why?" he asked.
"My father--he just--said I couldn't!" Wendelin said between sobs. Terry put his arm around her, and she rested her head on his shoulder.
"It's okay. I know why you're father doesn't want you around me." Wendelin looked up at him, confusedly. "My father was a death eater."
Wendelin gasped.
"Wendelin, please, I'm not like him!" said Terry. Wendelin looked up into his eyes. "Wendelin. Your father was an auror. He caught my dad, and put him in Azkaban. He died there. Wendelin, I always hated him..." said Terry, as he glared at the ground, thinking about his father.
"Terry," Wendelin whispered. "Terry, it's okay. You're not like your dad. You're a good person."
Terry stroked Wendelin's face with the back of his hand, gazing into her eyes. He bent down and gave her a gentle kiss.
"I love you, Wendy Weasley," Terry said, quietly.
"I know...I love you, too," said Wendelin.
They started back to Hogwarts, Terry's arm around Wendelin, her head on his shoulder.
"Terry?" Wendelin said, suddenly, as they walked.
"Hmm?"
"How will we keep this from my parents?" she asked him.
"We'll make it our little secret," said Terry.
Will Wendelin and Terry keep their relationship quiet? Will Wendelin's father lighten up? Will this ever become an actual weekly fan fic? To find out, tune in next "week" on Guiding Lumos!
