I am moaning in pleasure as I wake from another dream staring my raven-haired lover. I roll over to embrace him but am met with nothing but emptiness. A cold reminder of things not so long past. As reality comes crashing down on me I start to cry. This has become my normal morning routine. Wake, full of happiness for the day to come, until I realize I have nothing to be happy about. He is gone, the only source of life in me is gone forever and now all I have are my memories.

As the tears stream down my cheeks I remember that last day, the last battle against evil.

I looked around me at the burnt and bloodied mass that was once the forbidden forest and saw that we were finally taking control. We were finally going to win this war.

I saw the faces of people I knew dead or dieing, but they didn't register in my mind, all I could think of was that I had lost sight of you. I suddenly forgot the battle raging around me and set off to find you. We promised to stick together but I stupidly lost track of you in the fighting and now I had to get to you.

I knew you were only there for one reason, to destroy *him* once and for all. You wouldn't stop until you found him and I knew I had to get to you before something happened.

I can still picture you there next to his fallen body. The war was still going on around us but as soon as I saw you in a heap on the ground barley breathing the world stopped moving. I rushed to your side and immediately performed any and every healing charm I could think of, but no matter what I did it wasn't working. You were just barely alive but I wasn't going to stop trying.

I can still hear your last words to me ringing in my ears. I hear them everyday when I wake up and when I drift off to sleep. They haunt my every waking hour, forcing me to remember what we once had.

"Draco I'm so sorry." no more than a whisper but to me it was like you were screaming. "I tried, I really did. I lied to you and I am so sorry. I promised you forever, but I lied." You were sobbing now and your words were barely understandable.

I was also crying and rambling nonsense about how you weren't going to die, how I wouldn't let you. I knew it wasn't true, I knew that you were going to leave me forever in a matter of minutes but my heart refused to believe it. I was clutching your bloodied and broken body, rocking you as we both cried for the future that was slipping away from us.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lie, Draco. I'm sorry."

"No. You are not going to die here. You aren't going to leave me. I won't let you leave me, not now. Not ever."

"I lied. I lied to you, Draco, and I'm so sorry. I lied. I lied. I lied."

"No, you didn't. You will make it through this and we will be together forever. No one can take you away from me. We have forever."

"I will always love you, Draco..." and with that last declaration of your love, you left me alone, just like you said you never would.

I stare out the open window watching the people walk by; the cold winter air drying the tear tacks on my face.

The one person I ever truly trusted betrayed me and I can't ever forget that. I will never forgive you for leaving me Harry. You broke the one promise that ever meant anything to me and I can never forgive you for that.

The day you died, I died too. You were my whole life, my heart and my soul belonged only to you and you took them with you that day.

How do you expect me to go on without you? Do you actually think I can live without you here next to me everyday? Did you ever really think it was possible for me survive one second alone, much less forever?

You were my everything Harry and now with you gone, I have nothing. But soon, soon everything will be all right again.

As I pick up my wand I hear your voice again. 'I will always love you Draco.'

"And I will always love you Harry. I will be with you soon."

I point my wand at my heart and whisper the two words that will bring us together again. That will give us the forever that we deserve. The one you promised me...
