Satin Sheets
Hermione clung to Draco's body, swallowing in his warmth, bathing in the aftermath of his kisses, of his caressing, of their bodies becoming one. She was lying with her head on his chest, her tangled hair keeping her worried face veiled. Her brow was furrowed; she chewed on her bottom lip, a sudden nervousness lingering in the pit of her empty stomach. Her heart leapt as Draco pulled her body closer to his. Their bare flesh touched, sticky and tingling, beneath the satin sheets. Why does it have to be so hard? Hermione thought silently. Inside, she knew that Draco's father would never accept a dirty-blooded witch as his only son's love.
Hermione drifted out of her thoughts when Draco sighed deeply. She knew in her heart he was thinking of the exact same thing she was. It pained her to think that Draco had to carry such a painful burden as well, and knowing that she was the one who caused this burden made her throat tighten.
She felt his body shift, the warmth radiating off of his slender body filled her with hope for the first time in a while. She pressed her ear closer to his chest and listened forlornly to his beautiful heartbeat. It meant everything to her. It meant that she wasn't imagining his existence, that she wasn't in this alone. It meant that she truly was, madly in love with Draco Malfoy.
Hermione felt Draco's thumb brush her forehead lightly, as he brushed away her veil of tousled hair, and peered down into her eyes. He watched as a lone tear slipped down her cheek and for the first time in his life, his heart ached. He leaned down into her, his lips brushing hers before coming up sweetly upon the salty tear. His lips fell upon her cheek, kissing the tear from her face. A weak smile danced across her once worried expression. Draco gazed into his enemy's eyes. Though she was no longer his enemy and hadn't been for some time, he never would have believed he would be lying in bed next to her, clinging to her body.
Their secret had been hidden too long. Every time she was forced to act his enemy, her heart caught in her throat and she died inside. Each time was more painful than the previous. A silence hung in the air, making Hermione feel lost, confused, afraid.
Draco slipped an arm beneath the satin sheets, resting his hand lightly on her hipbone. He trailed a tickling finger up her hip and circled it silently around her naval, causing Hermione's flesh to erupt in goose bumps. He marveled in the thought that he could do this to her and smiled. Oh how he hated to see her beautiful, captivating eyes cry, knowing that he was the one causing the tears to fall from her affectionate brown orbs. He ran his fingertips through her hair, leaving his hand to rest on the back of her head as she leaned into his body, catching his lips on hers. His only quest was to erase the worried look in her warm eyes. He succeeded as the kiss deepened passionately. Draco's body was tingling and the familiar warmth returned in his groin for the second time that night. He enveloped her body, embracing her sweetly, gently, making sure not to hurt her already troubled body.
Hermione received the kiss in equal raw emotion, equal raw hunger, equal raw passion, yearning for this moment to last forever. She gave in to the sweet serenity of his gentle touch. His hands roaming and stroking her bare flesh, her supple skin. She kissed him fervently, longing for his touch to sweep her worries away, eager for his lips to kiss her troubles from her heavy heart. She made him feel as hot and fiery as he made her feel. Both knowing they had each other's love, each other's heart, each other's passion. At that moment, as the kiss deepened and they became more than two separate lovers, there was no importance that her blood was tainted or his blood was pure. She felt his warm tongue slide across her bottom lip as they became one and at that moment, they together were there for one another, they were the only two that mattered. They were the only two in love.
Draco was loving her, forcing her over the limit, making her lose any thoughts she had just moments before. The satin sheets slipped from their bare bodies and the entanglement of limbs was revealed in the darkness of the cold night. She whispered and breathed words to Draco between moans of pleasure, of desire, of erupting passion. They both knew this wasn't the end, but not thinking rational thoughts for the moment, neither of them could form complete sentences. The silence of the night was driven away by the eruption in sounds of pleasure and for that instant, Draco was the only thing that made sense to her, the only thing that she understood, the only thing that was pure, and she hugged him closer, tighter, never wanting to let go of his trembling body.
Author notes: Prequel and sequel may be coming soon. Let me know if I should extend and attach or if I should let this chapter stand alone.
