She smiled a forced goodbye as she retrieved her working card from the receptionist lady at the staff ward. She had gone through yet another very long and demanding, but nonetheless normal, day. Securing her bag around her shoulder, she retrieved her Healer hat and stowed it hastily into the pocket of her uniform before apparating into the hall of her flat in Islington.
She was exhausted. Feeling the weight of the day pulling her body down, she muttered a spell, and the door of number 214 clicked open. It was nothing grand, but the two-roomed flat she owned had so much of the Weasley comfort that its sentimental value soared way above its actual cost. With her mothers' help, she had decorated the small kitchen and her room with immense care; and it was only after the many returns from work that she really appreciated it. With one big sigh, she let herself fall onto the inviting comfort of her bed.
She loved being a Healer, no matter how much physical and mental energy it demanded from her. Being able to help others like she did provided her a feeling of accomplishment that she needed for her own peace of mind; and her so often called "natural abilities" had surely given her self-satisfaction and pride. Ginny spent only three months as an assistant after she had finished her medical training; she had been instantly been made Healer after a few emergency situations where she simply took over and made decisions, thankfully the right ones. When still at Hogwarts she had been tempted to become an Auror. The DA and the duels with Death Eaters had made her discover a courage in herself that she did not believe existed. Her determination to continue to fight alongside the Order of the Phoenix had made her grasp this ambition, and so she had claimed in her Career Advice meeting with her Head of House.
But it was not till the evening where Death Eaters invaded Hogwarts three years ago that Ginny realised that this courage and determination could be applied through different ways. So long... yet, the memory was still so vivid in her mind. She had jumped aside to avoid a purple jet of light sent by a very tall Death Eater. As she turned she saw that the sleak purple jet had hit Ron in the nape of his neck. A deep cut opened itself and blood started flowing out of him. She saw the Death Eater that was duelling her brother fall to the ground as Ron's curse hit him, and hoping that someone would take care of the one that had attacked her, she hurried to her brother that was now staggering backwards against the wall. She still didn't know what made her do it, but Ginny placed her left hand over the wound and wished for nothing else but for it to close. She could feel a soothing warmth emanating from her hand and the blood oozing in between her fingers. After what felt like eternity, but indeed were only five seconds, Ginny opened her eyes to find Ron drenched in blood, gaping at her. The wound had closed.
