Thoughts and feelings

The sky was dark blue and dotted with stars, the air cool and refreshing, and Harry Potter walked quietly among the shrubs and trees, enjoying the peace. He had already been at the Dursleys' for two weeks, and as usual, they ignored him.

He didn't mind; he was used to their attitude. But he felt so isolated. He had received letters from his friends and from what they had written; everything was quiet on the Voldemort front.

Yet, Harry became restless. He got fed up of being stuck at the Dursleys'. He wanted to join his friends at the Burrow. More than anything else, he wanted to find Snape, Dumbledore's murderer. He went 'round and 'round the Dursleys' garden and when he glanced at his watch, it was already time to get in.

As he went back, his thoughts drifted to Hermione. He had been thinking a lot about her these past weeks.

Most probably because I haven't seen her in a long time, Harry thought. I mean for what other reason? Hermione's my friend. Ginny is the one I love, right? Shouldn't I be thinking about Ginny? I don't even miss her. I miss Hermione though...

Harry turned back and entered the house; soon he was in his room fast asleep.

***************

Hermione tossed and turned. She couldn't sleep and no matter how hard she tried, she knew she wouldn't be able to. After returning back home for about a week-and-a-half, she left for the Burrow.

She had only arrived two days ago, but this time she felt out of place and awkward. Ginny was friendly towards her as usual, as were the twins and Ron. The problem was another one. She missed Harry terribly and thought about him constantly. She was worried about him, especially after that conversation in the train. She felt that Harry wasn't sure that he would succeed, and this scared Hermione. She certainly wasn't prepared to lose Harry any time soon, he was too important for her. Hermione felt liked screaming. She wanted to help Harry, but she didn't know how. I should try and sleep, there is nothing that I can do now.

"Hermione, wake up, wake up we are going to get Harry," Ginny cried joyfully, shaking Hermione.

Hermione opened her eyes slowly, and found Ginny prancing about the room in high sprits, her long hair was flowing behind and she was glowing with happiness. Hermione looked at Ginny, deep in thought. Ginny and Harry were always meant to be together. Then why do I feel so terrible?

Hermione closed her eyes, wishing that she were miles away.

"Come on, get dressed, we're leaving soon, I can't wait to see Harry again." Ginny twirled round and round dancing to a song she was humming softly.

"Good Morning."

Ron entered the room wearing a strange assortment of Muggle clothing. Hermione frowned at him.

Today was not a good day.

"Ron, you should change those clothes, you don't look like a Muggle, dressed like that," Hermione told him rather coldly, eying his clothes with evident disgust.

Ron groaned inwardly, he thought that his clothes were okay.

"Hermione is right, you'd better go change." Ginny said cheerfully.

"By the way, Ginny, when are Bill and Fleur arriving?"

"I don't really know, but I think sometime next week. I can't wait for their wedding, maybe this event will distract Harry, don't you think?"

"Well, it will distract him, but Harry is determined to do what he has to do," Ron finished, he didn't know how much Ginny knew about Harry's mission and he certainly wasn't going to spill the beans.

Ginny narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Ron, she was about to ask him something when Mrs Weasley shrieked, "Ginny! Ron! Get down here, your father is waiting for you!"

A few minutes later Ron, Ginny, Hermione and Mr. Weasley gathered around an old wristwatch. It was a Portkey that would take them directly to Harry.

"Okay, grab the wristwatch tightly, one, two threee...," Mr. Weasley cried, as the Portkey came alive and they swirled round and round.

Everything become blurred and this caused Ron to start feeling sick. He hated travelling by Portkeys. Luckily for him, they soon landed on soft grass. Mr. Weasley, Hermione and Ginny landed on their feet perfectly, while Ron tumbled on the dirty ground. As a result his clothes were stained with soil and dirt.

"Come on Ron, this is no time to roll in the grass. We are here for Harry," Mr. Weasley said, giving Ron a helping hand.

"Right follow me everyone. Keep together and don't wander off, danger is everywhere these days," Mr Weasley said, glancing around the trees, as if expecting Voldemort to pop out from behind them.

They followed the path and soon found themselves in a rather busy road after a few wrong turnings. They approached the Dursleys' house. All was quiet and there was no one in sight, the group reached the door and knocked. For a while not a sound could be heard; the house seemed empty; the minutes ticked by and still no one had opened the door.

"Ron and Ginny come with me, let's see if there are any windows open. Hermione, you stay here, maybe someone will open the door," Mr. Weasley ordered.

The three of them nodded. Mr. Weasley turned right whilst Ginny and Ron turned left. Hermione rang again; she was feeling worried. However, she barely had time to think about what could have happened when the door swung open and Harry himself appeared.

"Hermione! What are you doing here? I'm so glad to see you," Harry said smiling widely, before Hermione had time to react; Harry once again grabbed her into a hug.

"I'm glad to see you too," Hermione whispered her arms wrapped around Harry. She was elated and she wished this moment would last forever, however she slowly loosened her grip and let him go.

"Didn't you know that we were coming for you? I'm here with Mr Weasley, Ron and Ginny. They went round the house to find a way in, since you took so long. What kept you?" Hermione questioned.

"I'm sorry. I had no idea that you were coming for me. I didn't see you from upstairs. Well you'd better come in. I still have to pack my things," Harry finished smiling.
