Chapter 6: Restrictions

After a few days of putting about the Death Eaters' headquarters, attending meetings of the Inner Circle and helping regulate the constant stream of information, they were sent out on another mission.

During their meetings they hadn't particularly discovered anything more about the plan except that it would take place on the night of the full moon which wasn't far off. Harry and Ginny's mission was to discover where Harry Potter and Ginny Malfoy had gotten to. They were supposed to check the places that couldn't be casually observed, specifically Ron's house in the country and Harry's flat.

Ginny almost laughed at the easiness of it all. All they had to do was take a break for a few days, then come back and say Harry and Ginny were at Ron's house. Everyone would believe them and they would be able to continue their undercover work without and trouble.

They set off at ten and headed straight for Diagon Alley. They made contact with another Death Eater so that headquarters would know they were ok and continue with the mission. After that, they Apparated straight to Harry's flat.

"Uggh," Ginny grunted and turned to Harry. "Where's the Polyjuice Potion antidote?"

Harry went over to a cupboard and retrieved two vials of amber liquid. Ginny uncapped it and quickly downed the contents. The antidote tasted like honey but her skin still bubbled painfully as she was transformed back into herself.

Finally back in her own form, Ginny turned to Harry, who was just turning back into himself. Both their clothes were hanging off them, Emily and Lars MacNair being significantly bulkier than them.

"Well, this is attractive," Ginny quipped.

"Yeah," said Harry looking down and surveying himself. "Look, you wait while I change, then we'll Apparate to Ron and Hermione's. You have spare clothes there, don't you?"

"Yep," said Ginny. "Hurry up! These clothes are driving me mad!"

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

They Apparated to Ron and Hermione's house where they were received with great relief. Hermione confided to Ginny that Ron had been positively livid when he found out about the mission she had undertaken. Ginny had just rolled her eyes. Her brother's overprotectiveness, while it was rather sweet, was more often a pain in the arse. Fortunately, he restrained himself from berating Ginny and just satisfied himself by having a talk with Harry outside.

Ginny finally got a chance to slip away and change her clothes. They seemed a bit tighter than usual but Ginny didn't stop to think about it. The clothes had been there for over a year and it was quite possible that she had put on a few pounds since then.

When she got back downstairs, Harry was talking to Dumbledore at the fire. Harry turned to Ginny and said, "Just reporting to Dumbledore. He wants us to get checked out as soon as possible for anything dangerous the Death Eater's might have slipped us."

"Fine," Ginny said, slightly annoyed with Harry. Dangerous substances my ass, thought Ginny heatedly.

"I'll come too," said Ron. "I've got business at the Ministry anyway."

Ginny narrowed her eyes at him but said nothing. She knew he was only going because he wanted to see if she was as mental as Harry had probably made her out to be. Rather than yell, she brushed Harry aside and stepped into the emerald flames, arriving at the Ministry scant seconds later. She went straight to the medical wing of the Ministry without waiting for Ron or Harry.

*~~~~~~~~~~~*

Ginny sat in Dumbledore's office next to Harry and Ron, waiting for the results of her and Harry's medical exams. Finally, Dumbledore returned and sat behind his desk.

"Well," said Dumbledore. "Harry you're in excellent condition, no evidence of anything remotely dangerous in your system."

"What about me?" asked Ginny,

"You are both perfectly fine, just like Harry," replied Dumbledore.

Ginny gave him a confused look.

"You're pregnant Mrs. Malfoy," Dumbledore announced. "Congratulations."

Ginny's brain was busy processing that bit of information. Pregnant? I'm pregnant. Draco and I are going to have a baby! A smile blossomed on Ginny's face.

Now we need to rescue Draco more than ever, Ginny thought. "Well, sir, Harry and I better go and rest up. In a few days we have to be back at headquarters with the location of Harry Potter and Ginny Malfoy."

"What?!" exclaimed Ron, finally chiming in. "You're not thinking of going back undercover in your....your condition, are you? You can't!"

"I most certainly can Ronald Weasley and I will," Ginny shot back.

"No, you really can't," replied Ron. "The Polyjuice Potion transformation could have bad effects on the baby. I know because one of my team got pregnant and she was banned for using Polyjuice Potion when she reached three months."

"How far along am I?" asked Ginny, turning to Dumbledore.

"Two and a half months," said Dumbledore.

"That gives me exactly fifteen days," Ginny said, turning back to Ron and Harry. "I don't intend to waste them."

Harry turned to look at Ron and they exchanged a look that Ginny didn't understand. Harry turned back to face her and said softly, "Fifteen days and not a minute more."

"Thank you," said Ginny, who turned back to Dumbledore. "If there isn't anything else, I'm really rather tired."

"By all means, go and rest up. I dare say you'll need," replied Dumbledore.

Ginny got up to leave, then realized that Harry and Ron weren't following. She turned around and gave them an annoyed look while saying, "Aren't you coming?"

"We have to talk a minute longer. You go on ahead back to Ron's and tell Hermione that good news. We'll be along in a minute," said Harry.

Ginny swept out of the room without replying, knowing they were going to be having a talk about her and took the nearest fireplace back to Ron's to let Hermione in on her exciting news.
