Chapter 3: The Go Ahead

"It's very risky," said Albus Dumbledore, the current Minister of Magic. "I don't know if you're in any kind of a mental state to take on this kind of a mission."

Ginny, who was sitting in front of the desk next to Harry, said, "With all due respect sir, I'm going with or without your approval. It would be a lot safer for though if I had Ministry help."

Dumbledore leaned back in his chair and looked at Ginny, then finally said, "I don't like it. However, if you are as determined to go as you say you are, I will of course provide you with anything that you need."

Ginny's eyes lit up as she replied, "Thank you, sir!"

Harry and Ginny were just about to walk out of the door when Dumbledore said, "Be careful."

"Don't worry sir," said Harry, eyeing Ginny sternly. "We will be."

"The first thing we have to do is get the information from them. Let's go get the Veritaserum from the Potions storage area. You should get it because you have a higher clearance than me and can get it a lot faster," said Ginny, almost running through the hallways of the Ministry of Magic.

"No, first we eat something," said Harry, grabbing Ginny's arm and pulling her towards the Ministry's cafeteria. "You need to eat if you want to have the strength to pull off this mission," he said as they got in line. "We'll eat fast, then get the Veritaserum and go to the prisoners. We'll be undercover by the day after tomorrow."

"You're right," said Ginny, picking up a tray. It always amused Ginny that the Muggle idea of a cafeteria was incorporated into the Ministry of Magic.

"Yes," said Harry from in front of her. "We'll hurry and be done in practically ten minutes."

Ginny nodded and hurried through the rest of the line.

Ginny and Harry returned to Harry's flat that evening with the results of their Veritserum induced interviews and plenty of take-out food to get them through the night. They also had their Polyjuice Potion and a few strands of hair from the prisoners they were to change into.

"OK, you get set up in the living room and I'll get a pot of coffee going," said Harry, proceeding through his flat to the kitchen while Ginny went into the living room.

"OK," said Ginny setting the cartons of take-out on Harry's coffee table. She opened a couple of the boxes and sniffed appreciatively. She'd been wanting take-out all day. Next she took out the magically recorded interviews that had taken place that afternoon. She decided to just start at the beginning and ate while she waited for Harry to finish making the coffee. He finally came in with a large pot of coffee and two mugs.

"OK," said Harry, pouring himself and Ginny some of the coffee. "Let's get going."

"OK," said Ginny, immediately starting the interview recording.
