"That's all I wanted to hear," James said as he leaned into her and closed his eyes, when all of a sudden, SMACK, James felt a sudden pain in his cheek. He put one hand to his cheek and rubbed it slightly before opening his eyes and seeing Lily not so happy face. "What was that for?" he asked, however already having a slight idea why she probably did it.

"What was that for?" she muttered in utter disbelief, "Did you not listen to anything I just said?"

"Yes," he nodded, "You said you would be my friend"

"Friend, yes, friend. Not girlfriend, not friend with benefits, just friends," she said nearly screaming by the end. She then quickly turned around and headed for the stairs to leave.

"You know you set yourself up for this," she constantly mumbled to herself as she walked across the grounds. "Did you really think he was going to change like a snap of a finger?" she thought to herself ,"Did you really believe he was going to change in instant and not be the arrogant git that he always is and always will be? Did you really actually think you could love him?" She continued to think as she neared her room, "Yes!" she said slamming the door.

As tears came down her face she just made her way over to her bed and carried herself to sleep.

Later that evening:

"Lils," Beth said softly as she entered the room.

"What?" she asked with a scratchy voice. She had stopped crying and was just now laying on her bed facing the wall.

"It's James, he wants-"

"I don't want to talk to him," Lily interrupted

"Come on Lils..." she said somewhat in a pleading voice. Like everyone les in the whole school she knew that Lily really did like James but just refused to admit it. "He's really upset, he realized he hurt you and he wants to apologize"

"Well tell him it's too late."

"Lily, please give him-"

"I said no," she shouted as she bolted up looking at Beth

I'm so glad I finally feel...

As Lily was lying on her bed just staring up at the ceiling she heard a knock at the door. "Go away," she shouted, she had no clue who it was but didn't really care at this point. Then there was another knock, "Doesn't anyone around here ever listen," she said getting of the bed and almost stomping to the door. "What?!" she shouted as she flung the door open. However there was no one there, only a piece of parchment on the floor.

Dearest Lily,

I guess it true that people do stupid things when their in love because I did the stupidest thing today...I had you and lost you all in less then five minutes. And even worse I hurt you...Seeing your face as you walked away will always be sketched in my mine, and every time I think about you I'll be in pain because I know I hurt you. However I have one favor, please meet me tomorrow in the library at 9 p.m. and hopefully I can make it up to you.
