Girls Will Be Girls
Chapter One
The moonlight spilled through the large windows of Gryffindor tower, spreading over the scarlet rug. Gryffindor tower was silent as the Gryffindors slipped into dream worlds that were their imagination, all except one. From the girls staircase came quiet footsteps; the footsteps continued and fell silent as the person reached the dusty rug. Into the moonlight stepped the only Weasley daughter, the youngest of the Weasley offspring.
She slowly crossed the rug and settled herself into one of the plump scarlet chairs, and a sigh escaped her lips. Her fiery hair glinted in the moonlight and her face looked pale.
She stood up again and walked over to the window. She stood looking over the Hogwarts grounds illuminated by the moonlight, the full moon reflected in the lake. A thick layer of snow covered the grounds, shining so bright it was almost blinding. She sighed again.
So peaceful, she whispered. She ran her hand through her hair feeling its softness between her fingers. She ran her hands over her 15-year-old body, feeling its smoothness, and her face fell. After a while, she sat herself down on the window seat and continued to take in the beauty of the Hogwarts grounds.
The fire noisily crackled away in the grate, reduced to just cinders, emanating little warmth, but still burned through its determination to live.
Ginny pressed her face against the cold hard glass. Her breath clouded up the glass, a gentle smile came upon her face she raised her finger and traced a small love heart in the fog, in it she in cased the letters G.M. She smiled again, resting her head back against the windows. She placed a protective hand on her stomach, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
"Ginny wake up!"
Ginny felt someone clutching on to her shoulder, a voice echoing through her head. She slowly opened her eyes, temporarily blinded by the bright morning sunlight. As her eyes came into focus, a figure she recognised as Hermione was leaning over her.
"Ginny what are you doing down here?" Hermione asked, holding out her hand to help Ginny up. Ginny shook her head as if trying to rid something from her thoughts.
"I'm going to get ready for class," Ginny whispered in a daze. She ignored Hermione's baffled look and climbed the stairs towards the girls' dormitories.
"But it Saturday," Hermione called after Ginny's disappearing figure.
Ginny slowly removed her pyjama top and stood in front of the full-length mirror, thoroughly examining herself. She ran her hand gently over her stomach and smiled. She dressed quickly, grabbed her bag, and hurried down to the Great Hall for breakfast. As Ginny entered the Great Hall, a certain blond boy caught her eye, with his head thrown back and laughing heartily. A smile spread across her face. Just the thought of him made her go weak at the knees. What would Ron say if he found out?
She looked over to where her brother was sitting, and sensing her presence, Ron looked up and smiled at her. He patted the seat next to her, gesturing her to sit down. She felt tears well up in the corners of her eyes, feeling she had betrayed him. She turned quickly on her heels, and left the Great Hall as quick as she could.
She walked back up to Gryffindor Tower, dragging her feet all the way up, in a small child like manner. Her mind was full of thoughts of how much she had betrayed Ron, the rest of her family. She stepped into the Gryffindor common room and was happy to see that it was empty. Ginny settled herself down in the biggest chair, sighing. She was glad she was alone; she did not need questions right now. She sat thinking, and not of anything in particular, which was usually a sign she had a lot to think about. She got up and closed the window to prevent any more cold air entering the room.
She settled back in the chair and absentmindedly rubbed her hand over her stomach. She turned around looking at the flames dancing rhythmically in the hearth. She felt the room begin to warm up, and she settled down in her chair, enjoying the feeling of the warmth and comfort around her.
Her thoughts became more specific, and she couldn't stop thinking about what everyone would say. What would her mother say? What would her brothers say? What would Ron say? When they knew the truth?
Tears slowly began to snake their way down her face. She made no effort to wipe them away, as they began snaking their way down her face and dripping on to her top. What am I going to do?
There was a noise of feathers as a large Eagle Owl landed on the windowsill. It tapped its beak on the window, Ginny walked over to open the window, a gust of wind greeting her as she did. The Owl flew in through window and landed on top of the chair. It held out his leg displaying the letter attached. Ginny carefully untied the letter and the owl disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
Ginny,
Meet me tonight, in the Astronomy tower at 12.00. I have to see you....I need to see you. I can't stop thinking about you.
Please, come tonight. I will be waiting.
Draco
xx
She brushed her fingers over the words, her heart jumping at them. He wanted to see her again. A smile spread across her face, as quickly as her smile appeared it was gone again, replaced with frown. Her hand subconsciously ran over her stomach.
A new thought entered her mind- what would Draco think?
